Softcaped to S/L. E/N at 40%, but my endurance is at a rather ridiculous point with everything running. May drop Maneuvers, looking at this, giving Taunt it's slots back and just being happy with the 37% E/N.

    DA/KM help

Price range doesn't matter, I plan on using Hero Merits for most of the more expensive things.

I suppose I should have mentioned this in the first place, but I was aiming for the Cadiac Incarnate slot, so I wasn't really too worried about that much in the way of endurance. I don't deal with IOs until I get closer to fifty, and always slot an SO of endred in my armors, so that (shouldn't) be an issue in the long run.

Which would be more useful, CoF or OG? From what you say, OG, but wouldn't CoF basically increase my defense, through to-hit debuffs?

    Edit:

    What's FA?

    DA/KM help

Keeping my old one up, but I made a small change I was wondering if it was worth it for Burst.

    Level 28: Burst -- M'Strk-Dmg/EndRdx/Rchg(A), Sciroc-Dmg/Rchg(40), Sciroc-Acc/Dmg/EndRdx(42), Erad-Acc/Dmg/EndRdx/Rchg(42), Erad-Acc/Dmg/Rchg(42), Erad-Dmg/Rchg(43)

Costs more end, recharges slower, a little less accurate, but more damaging, and higher E/N defense, still softcapped to S/L. Worth the tradeoff?

    DA/KM help

Since I've had no luck with coming up with a tank, I decided to try again, this time, after deciding Ice Armor wasn't going to work for me, with Dark Armor. Problem is, I have no earthly idea what I'm doing.

Now, here's the build I'm working on so far. Yes, I have 4 open powers and 5 spare slots to play with, but I'm not sure what to get. More than likely, from what I know of Dark Armor, grabbing the Energy Master pool for Physical Perfection would be the best bet.

So, logically, I'm asking here, to see what people think and how badly I messed up the build. Any tips would be helpful, since I have no idea what I am getting into.

Oh, built mainly for softcap S/L.

  5. Combat Jumping + Karma Knockback protection = All status holes blocked, more or less.
  6. I've been having fun with my /fire, but only because I realized the best way to stay alive is to kill things quickly...Which is working very well for me. I do die on occasion, but don't really mind. Inspirations can cover me when needed.
  7. I editted my build, taking out swipe and adding taunt for the chance for psi damage proc, to give me a little different damage type without dealing with redraw. The three slots in Swipe went to health for more regen, Consume for the endmod/recharge, and Burn for a dam/recharge.

  8. Are you going to be fine with that build without Stamina slotted? It seems rather odd to me.

Edit: I know Stamina isn't required, but at level 27 I'm still draining endurance, so slotting it just makes sense to me.
  9. If nothing else, is it better to have 1 interrupt/2 heal/end/rech IOs or 2 interrupt and 1 heal/end/rech IO in Aid Other/Aid Self? Or any other tips?
  10. Having decided to play with a new set, I more or less fell in love with the fun combination mentioned, but I'm trying to find a way to make it better. So, naturally, I'm going to ask people who play the sets more.

    The main questions are:
    1) I know most people say to skip Swipe, but what power would be worth taking instead? I'm not taking Hasten, but any ideas would be nice.
    2) The Gaussian's proc in Follow Up is mostly there until I can test it. Is it worth staying in there, or should I just toss it?
    3) I know it's hard to tell just by looking, but will I have that much in the way of Endurance issues that I'll need Superior Conditioning/Physical Perfection, or can I toss those for a different APP if I wanted to?
    4) Um, well, any other help would be nice, but I don't know for sure how well things would work. I built mainly for recharge to get Fiery Embrace/RotP/Consume/Healing Flames up faster, but should I have tried for something else?

Again, any help would be appreciated.

(Edit for a small change in slotting.)
  11. In a random mood to i19/inherent-stamina-ify my builds, I decided to work on my Mercs/Traps build, to see what I could come up with. My main aim was softcap Smashing/Lethal, then...Well, whatever. I kind of didn't have any other plans. I did manage to softcap it with my build, but I was mostly wondering how badly I managed to mess up my build with my slotting, and if there is anything I could do to keep the softcap but have the build better.

  12. Everfree_Fire

    Merc/Traps?

Just hit level 35 on mine. It's not too great in the damage department, but it's solid. With the i19 inherent fitness, I could pick up Aid Self/Other for a decent self heal and the ability to heal my Medic on the fly.

Other than that? It's been kinda meh. Useful, but not awe-inspiring.
  13. Maneuvers I've looked into, and if I don't IO this one I'll probably take it, but Hasten...I really don't like Hasten. Nothing wrong with it as a power, and I can't deny it can be useful...I just hate it.

I'll tweak around with the build some more. She's only level 6, I have plenty of time to play with things.
  14. About what I thought you meant, too, on CE, and thanks for verifying the proc is useful in it.

And I don't 'need' Aid Self. I just have two powers I don't know what to do with.

    • Impeded Swiftness - Damage/Slow: Level 10
    • Pacing of the Turtle - Chance of -Recharge: Level 20
Inhales aggro like a wind tunnel and gives you a very good chance to maintain aggro through Hibernation Phase(out).

Why the damage/slow IO? Chilling Embrace doesn't do any damage naturally anyways, so the damage improvement is wasted. It's be more useful just to slow a level 50 slow IO instead.
  16. Yeah, the Steadfast is on my plans for this build. Just not bothering yet.

Very interesting on the Permafrost, didn't know it affected so little.

I just slotted those mostly because I wasn't sure how much it'd help. I'll probably keep the second slot in if the Impeding Swiftness proc works well in it.

Didn't know it didn't benefit from recharge. How odd.

Aid self was a last second throw-in once I realized I had two spare powers and the ability to take them. I'll check on slotting that later.

And thank you on the info for CE and EA, and things like this are why I post in the forums. I sure as heck don't know what I'm doing with tankers.

Edit to ask...What is the best IO slotting for Aid Self with 6 slots?
  17. Well, more same question for two powers. According to mids, neither Chilling Embrace nor Energy Absorption take accuracy enhancements, but appear to have an accuracy check. Is the check true, and if so, do IO sets affect it?

I suppose, while I'm here, I should just post my build. It's basically only SOs right now, as I'll be looking into IO possibilities later, but I'm wondering mostly how well the Ice Armor powers are slotted.

((Failed to remember to actually *post* said build >.>))

  18. So instead of telling me how, you ignore it and just tell me to think about it?

    How about this?

Let's say I get to fifty. I want to try something new. What good would it be to just have that as a fifty, with potentially no idea how the powers works or how they mesh together without those 49 levels of playing with them?

You're essentially asking to skip the 49 levels that you learn how to play a power, just for the sake of trying something new directly at 50.
  19. I'm still trying to figure out how this is a good idea or how this would help anything, personally.
  20. What does the general all-around problems with mercenaries have to do with a pet AI bug that is affecting all pets? This isn't just henchmen being affected. Controller pets are being affected, though for most it's a minor detail since I think most are mostly melee-based anyways.
  21. What were you having troubles with?

To me, that's a key point. Both /dark (which I have played) and /thermal (which meshes well with demons) are solid choices, and I'm doing fairly well with /poison, but I don't know if I'd recommend that of the three.
  22. I hadn't, until recently, had too much of an issue with this...Until I tried to take on Serafina with my bots/traps MM and found out just how much knockback she had. Couldn't come close to beating her, even with the base difficulty settings, because my bots kept trying to melee her...And running into Hurricane.
  23. With my current build, Web'nade recharges in 2.689 sec (can go lower, one of the slots is a damage proc), Caltrops in 21.58, Triage in 81.22, Acid Mortar in 36.67, PGT in 37.71, Seeker Drones in 41.35...If that's not fast enough, trying to work with Hasten won't do too much more. I suppose slotting more recharge would let me triple-stack Acid Mortars, but why bother? Most of the effects would kill anything that would be a problem anyway.
  24. That's...Remarkably interesting, and not something I'll look into. I'll take the lesser values and not have to worry about exploit fixes. Thanks for the info, though, but with my luck, the moment I actually get one slotted, they'll fix it.
  25. Enzyme says defense debuff...Am I missing something? I don't normally play with hami-os.
