Quote:Remember.. thats STILL how you get contacts!I wonder how this would work in ouroboros? If you could just cue up a bank mish I'd think no one would even use the paper/scanner anymore, just go to o. If it was task/strike force like...well that would be one disjointed mission arc...
I lean more towards leaving it the way it is. Somethings are just going to seem forced and unnatural...this imo is one of them.
Hm.. Yah, I can see the difficulty w/ the contacts. And yes.. Safeguard isn't as much fun as mayhem. -
Since y'know, there be explore badges in them..
Are the safeguard/mayhem missions available in Oroboros? If so, where, and if not, why not? -
-
Thats a great badge, with a good reward.
Unless you're a villain.
HONORABLE?
You've got code in the badge names to differentiate between Male and Female characters?
Can we see that on the Veteran Badges for some of those names?
Instead of being 'Honorable' as a villain, that badge could be.. 'Underhanded'..
Or I'm sure y'all can come up with lots of ideas.. but.. I can NEVER see my villains wearing THIS badge as a claim to fame! -
Flag systems suck. Proof of concept: Star Wars Galaxies.

Happy Birthday! Whee! Someone bake a really big cake and stick some damned in it to be candles for him to blow out!

Oh god. Tanker rezzes. I remember distinctly the first time this happened to me and my dark melee regen scrapper.. It was an actual BOSS tanker, and it took every inspiration I had, and I dropped him... ohhh.. with about 4 hp left. Standing there going 'wow'.. I hear 'creackkle'.. and I have enough time to say 'oh crap' before I dead-ed.
Loved it!
Quote:The statement commonly called "Murphy's Law" is actually Finagle's Law of Dynamic Negatives. How it got mixed up with Murphy's Law, I don't know, but the real Murphy's Law is; "If there are two or more ways to do something, and one of those ways can result in a catastrophe, then someone will do it that way".
With that said, here's a fun list of my Finagle's Law-related experiences:
- The Tank Freak will always self-rez when you've forgotten that they do that.
- There is always another Sapper.
- If you hold off on using your Tier Nine godmode when fighting an Elite Boss or Archvillain, it'll be too late by the time you decide you need it.
- Strength of Will wears off exactly two seconds before you can use that final attack to kill Ghost Widow solo. Every. Single. Time.
- There are more Trolls around the corner.
- When there's only one enemy left, only your AoEs will be recharged.
- Your powers with Knockback will never shove an enemy through a hole in the map geometry where you can't attack it and it can't get out. Until you're fighting the last enemy in a kill-all mission.
- There's another spawn in the layer-cake cave. Always.
- If you think a Rikti spawn doesn't have a Communications Officer, you're not looking hard enough.
-
You know him, and you love him while you hate him, but he's Murphy.. and he's FAR more powerful than Statesman and Lord Recluse's love child..
Where have you seen him run rampant?
Have fun with it!
My favorite:
No matter which train you take to get to Steel Canyon, the mission door will be closer to the OTHER train. -
Can we ask Kyra Sedgwick for her oddest Bacon moment...

Quote:My arteries are saying 'NO NO NO NO!'... but my stomach is saying 'HELL YES!'.
My tongue is lining up with 'sautee diced onion and slices of mushrooms and put a layer of that in'.
NO recepie that starts with 'weave the bacon' can possibly be good for you.
Bet it taste fun though! -
Had some really great names for my last pet.
My Bots MM I named the three mains 'Apple', 'IBM', and 'Atari', then the mid two 'PC' and 'Mac'.. Then the last one I named for the worst, most destructive thing ever. 'Vista'.
And btw to the sig about hero/vil types. When the EB goes from full to half health in 30 seconds, its the stalker's doing. -
Ok. My Mercenary Mastermind.. I named my tier 1 troops 'Stop', 'Drop', and 'Roll'.
My tier 2 troops are 'Duck' and 'Cover'.
I cannot think of ANYTHING to name the 3rd tier guy when I get him though..
Help me! -
Reading the info about Desdemona makes me wonder.. says she's a demon controlling mastermind.
This gonna be something rolling out to the rest of the world?
Some new pet sets would be fun to figure out! -

dunno who guards the black market, but I watch the watchmen!
[/ QUOTE ]
Me? I beat the snot out of the watchmen, often. (Shines the 'Beat up PPD' Badge. -
Ok.. My stalker is 49th level, and I have to say pretty tough.
Took down Lord Recluse in the fun mission you get to do that in pretty easily.
Who is it that guards the Black Market trucks. Seems to me I'd walk up, throw ONE punch, explode dude's head, and drive the truck off...
Who do they have guarding those things, and why aren't they ruling the world?!? -

I'm pretty sure WW and BM take a 10% cut, with a minimum of 5 influence.

Oops.. Well.. um. It was still funny when I thought it was right.
Blame the hour (point at the posted time) and all the thunder rattling my brain. -
So, I'm poking at the Black Market since I'd picked up a few L50 recipes and noticed something fun.
You can vendor a IO basic recipe for 1/4th its crafting cost. (25%).
Wentworth/Black Market takes 40% of what you get, when you sell something.
So If you want to get 25% of crafting cost, you have to add to that so that once 40% is taken out, you still have the 25% of the crafting cost. (Yes, yes, I know. Math, ow, pain. Math is good for you)
You find this by dividing the 0.25 by 0.6 (what you get when its sold) and that comes out to 0.416666666 orrr.. 42%!!
Its the answer! YAAAY! Sadly, only Fenchurch ever knew the question...
And if you haven't the slightest idea what I'm taking about? Go read a book! Specifically 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' -
[ QUOTE ]
Post it for 1 influence.
[/ QUOTE ]
Doesn't work. If you post something for 1, and it sells for 100, you pay 39 to get your influence. Wentworths Always gets its cut. -
Requires killing 200 Toxic Tarantulas.. Rogues don't count.
In an hour+ cruising Grandville, I found 6.
At 10 min each, 200 will take 30+ hours of mindless flying and spamming the button for targeting tarantulas.
Any better ways for vils to get this badge? (I've already finished Korol, so I can't farm that mission of its) -
Probably the least satisfying of all missions is the 'Save Law Firm From X Group' missions.
Please, on the vil side, some 'Destroy Law Firm' missions.
I'd take that over a return of 5th Col!
mm.. Beat up nazis.. beat up lawyers..
Can we have nazi lawyers? -
All I have to say? YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Champions Online can kiss my donkey!
COWhich? Forever! -
This idea came to me while I was doing a decidedly blueside AE arc this morning.
Arcs where you get a pet (assistant) of one faction or the other, it'd be really cool to be able to give them dialog after rescue that will vary based on what side they're on.
For instance: Longbow type getting rescued,
Blue Side: Thank you <hero name>, now lets go do <whatever>
Red Side: I don't believe I'm working with you, <villain name>.. but if we meet again after this, don't think I won't take you down!
Would make doing a hero side arc as a vil, or vice versa much cooler! -
All the talk about the card trick had me thinking.. how cool it'd be to have a deck of playing cards with a City of Heroes theme. Have the logo on the back of the cards.. And even our heros and villains on the cards themselves, for the face cards!
Red suits
King: Lord Recluse
Queen: Ghost Widow
Jack: Scirroco, Mako
Black (Maybe for these, Blue) suits
King: Statesman
Queen: Ms. Liberty
Jack: Positron and Manticore
Dang, I want this almost more than the tauntaun sleeping bag! -
In my (not so) Humble Opinion, the most important thing about the Architect is this.
If you're going to publish a story, be able to take constructive criticism.
If you're gonig to play a story, be able to GIVE constructive criticism.
'UR Story sux!' does *NOT* qualify.
I ran through an arc last week that was an absolute BLAST. Until the end room, which had multiple elite bosses, making it a story more suited to team play. I wasn't able to finish, but still gave a good rating (Fun dialog, entertaining theme) and gave a suggestion that the description suggests teaming.
Got a tell from the author a couple days later, thanking me for the feedback.
EXACTLY how it should be!
Lets keep the comments positive and constructive and the Architect will grow and prosper and let us KICK CHAMPIONS a$$!!!
GO PARAGON! -
We'll miss you, Ex Libris! Good luck on your path in the future and know that a ton of gamers all over the country are wishing you only the best!
