    Claws/Electric Armor
    Claws/Regeneration

    Yeah, i like claws...

My question is: which one of these would be more "tough" at end game content (not farm)?
I'll, or at least try to softcap for Smash and Lethal.

    Thx everyone!
Claws/Elec or /Will would be my stab... And Will out of the box, otherwise thinking they're tied if IO'd.

    Fire/MM/Ice

    He's so hot, he's cool!

Yeah, so here's my tilt at it. Will go Spiritual on him, so no more increases to Defenses, but he's only high-30's as of now. (or should I look at Cardiac/Agility?)

Currently kitted with Commons, I'd start making this on a 2nd Build.

Let me check on the Kismet. It says for 120 seconds, which tells me the power needs to be active. I can confirm by turning the power off for two minutes. Heh, I didn't have to wait. It disappeared immediately. I'd noticed the same with the stealth IO. I guess 120 seconds now means 0 seconds. Anyway, yeah, don't put it in Vengeance. Do the swap.

I haven't actually looked at the build, though.

Edit: Probably 120 seconds for a click power. I can't test that, though, as I always have it in a toggle or passive.
    So swapping the Kismet then...

But how to wedge in DA? Not my toon, building on commission, but the player wants a Vertical Travel power, more than just Ninja Run. Mentioned, ebcause SJ is about the only power I could think to drop for DA to make it's way back in. Or I'm dropping Vengeance, the 6% Acc, and then pirating at least Brawl's slots... More thoughts?
  4. Degenerate is FINALLY Grey, and about 22.5.

Looking forward to being able to swing both side of the pond now. May need to jump onto Siol's coat-tails about the Accolades though, seems wise.

Also, I'll admit, I'll sooner kill 100 Overseer's on a Stalker than run an SSTF... Just do SSA2 Redside 100 times.
  5. At this point, with the damage reduction that the Degenerative has, no. Only under Venom Grenade does it pull even, and it never eclipses Reactive.

I would too... but the build pulls of 45% SLEN without it... so why lean on it?

Tough was a "tough" drop, but I feel (no numbers mind you) that the last set of Kin's in Kick make up for the lost S/L resist. Also, note, no SoW either. *whoops, I do have it, overlooked it

And unsure on Kismet, I get confused if it works as a global or a Set enhancement. If latter (a la Numi/Miracle) it'd be a simple swap for the LotG in CJ...

But otherwise decent? sweet, it might not suck. Wish I could think of some better ways to get those last percentage points aside from the Glad's Armor.
  7. So, we all know it's one of the smoothest combos out there, and only gets beastlier once you dabble into IO's. Oddly, though, the first thread about this fantastic combo is buried on Page 5... So, I figure time to start a new one.

So, here's the build. Little unorthodox, I know (No Divine Avalanche!?), but it does hit S/L/E/N Soft-cap, with respectable +HP, +Regen, and +Recov...

Or can it be better? Any thoughts/ideas are welcomed and encouraged. About the only thing not amenable to is slotting of the Def Debuff Hami's... One, it ain't WAI, and 2, you lose about 1% of Defense by not using them.

Again, though, I'm willing and able to be proven wrong... How can this build be stronger/smoother/better? Does DA need to be in a Katana Build? Should I find a different APP/PPP? Something else?

  9. With Targeting Drone, I'd recommend that 1 Acc in all the attacks turns into an EndRed.
Long-Range Missile Rocket should drop the Rech for a Dam.
Drop Boxing/Tough to move up Super Speed and Medicine.
Drop Aid Other for Stimulant (useful with just an IntRed). Aid Self wants an EndRed as well.
Grab Combat Jumping and Assault for your open picks. Both are one-slot wonders, CJ grabs a Jump, and Assault an EndRed.
  10. Still working here, potentially playing when I get home tonight though... still need to get Degenerate more tips (maybe they'll actually drop this time).

Spines can still build Focus by using impale, ripper (it's really a small cone) and the first two attacks. If we allow Spines to build with throw spines and spine burst, then it has the best of everything. What suddenly seems like Spine's biggest weakness (ST damage) becomes almost non-existent with the new AS.

If we only allow ST attacks and small melee cones to build Focus (Rippers and Jacobs Ladder), then Spines can make a choice to either go all out on aoe or build Focus for ST damage if it's just a boss left, but I don't think the set should have both advantages.
In all probability, it'll probably work much like Titan Weapon's [Defensive Sweep], which is an AoE which grants Melee/Smashing Defense a la Divine Avalanche. You only get the defense if you hit the target you are targetting (a la, the one in the orange reticule), regardless of how many others you hit with it. So, for purposes of the Defense buff (read: gaining Assassin's Focus), the attack only checks against the single target.

I'd hope and assume that since this tech is already in game, it would apply similarly to the garnering of Assassin's Focus, with whatever you're targeting being the determining factor for gaining a stack. This does bring up the curiosity of [Spine Burst] and [Burst], since both are non-targeted PBAoE's, they would have an inherent advantage in generation of Assassin's Focus...

    Hrm...

My bust, read that as only 3 slotting the set.
  14. So, the final number is the percentage increase of damage per activation second of a given power when used with Placate vice being used out of Hide?

That's a MUCH smaller gain than what would be apparent from the assured Crit. Basically, Placate seems a minimal gain with the exception of Burst, and only then when facing multiple targets.

This revelation alters both my playstyle and builds... odd indeed.

As previously suggested, drop Sting of the Wasp, get both Gambler's Cut and Flashing Steel.
I'll second/third/fourth everything that's been said for Katana and Gambler's Cut. It does seem backwards, but if you have a seamless attack chain, GC is better. I only would take SotW on a Stalker.

And interesting on the Elec/ and Stone/ being the same... This changes things for my Elec/Fire Brute, Elec/SR Scrap, and potential Stone/ Brute and Scraps.... This is between just the Tier 1 and 2 for those respective sets, right?

The new Alpha's aren't gated behind anything except Incarnate access.

Using the Performance Shifter IOs leaves you with 91.78 after ED, which, while indeed less than 99.08%, comes with the set bonuses with performance shifter which includes a 2.5% recovery bonus, which comes out...

Okay actually after taking a closer look at it they end up very nearly identical - on my build its 3.25 end/sec with the performance shifters and 3.24 end/sec with the vanilla endmod IOs. Performance Shifters give you a slight run speed and HP bonus though.

Upon closer investigation I would probably save the 40mil or so (guessing) for those 3 performance shifter IOs (keep the proc of course) and use the way cheaper vanilla IOs instead.
Or get better recovery over time (subject to RNG for short-term) by 3 Slotting Perf Shifter: Chance for +End, EndMod, and either EndMod/Acc or End/Mod Rech.

Especially if you have any +End from Accolades or Sets, the Perf Shifter Proc gives 10% of Current MAX End. (E.g. Default Character gets 10 End ~50 seconds, hit with the Vanguard Curse it's 5 end ~50 seconds, and with both +End Accolades 11 End ~50 seconds. [100, 50, 110 Base Endurance respectively] The ~50 seconds figure is the Proc has a chance to fire every 10 Seconds in an auto power, and has a 20% rate.)

Basically, the Perf Shifter Proc grants you .2 EPS recoveryin an auto on a default character, that completely ignores any ED slotting of EndMod.
