1. My base in cov has everything needed. teleports, workshop, power, control, all the little doodads like workbenches and salvage storage and vault and invention worktables all in the smallest plot. We have no interest in raiding or pretty but non functional things like meeting rooms so there is plenty of space for everything in a small rent free base

Leaving for now

It is threads like this that show why people go then come back to this game. Elly is in a bad place and people are rallying round to offer support and love. What other game has such an amazing community with such lovely people. Everyone in our SG is ready to help re-create Elentil as quickly as possible and waiting in the wings are a fabulous bunch of forumites waiting to pounce with as much help as is needed.....

As for the husband, thats between Elly and him, but revenge is long and painful. I hope he finds the shed comfy

Leaving for now

People in the far east have been known to commit murder for deleting all someones toons. i imagine that the marital bed will be a memory for him from now on. I hope you have an uncomfortable couch

I agree with you golden girl, but lets be honest here, most of us trust our significant other above and beyond anyone else. If you can't trust your husband with knowing your passwords and not abusing them then it's a sad world.

I'll miss you Elly, even if you did suddenly vanish mid mission to nurse the little one. I hope things work out at home, but if it had happened to me I'd have been on the lunch time news having gone postal on his sorry bottom. Why is it some men think that mothers at home all day with a new born are ignoring their children because they take time out to do something they enjoy, but its ok for them to go up the pub with their mates to escape the crying? If he isn't careful he will find his days of pub going are over as most of his income will be going on child support
4. I think thats true. You regularly get cries of good healing, but its not often I get told good tanking. It happens, but not often. I was in a team tonight top heavy with controllers who did a sterling job. I did comment on how good they were but I bet it's not something said too much.

Empaths are the showy ones that you notice most when you first start to play. When played well they shouldn't need to fight, thats what the rest of us are for. It's only as you get used to the game mechanics that you notice the silent buffs that are just as brilliant. If they can't hit you then you dont take the damage and don't need the empath. But when it all goes horribly wrong and the damage starts getting through it is the empath most of all who can help keep a team alive. If they are fighting and wasting their endurance instead of throwing the heals, buffs and rez then they aren't playing the best way.
5. I took enough attacks on Lord Blue to solo at those times when I needed to, but most of my energy was concentrated on primaries, leadership, fitness etc.

When I was playing in a team I would concentrate on using my primaries. I was more concerned with watching the little icons near someones name and buffing and healing as needed, as well as reacting to cries for CM, fort or AB. If the team was working really well and no one was in need of my talents then I would help with the attacks, but to be honest they were hardly the most useful things in the world. When everyone else is doing damage in triple figures and I'm doing damage in low double then I'm not really performing my primary function, which is to keep the team alive and healthy.

And I think CM is a must have power. At later stages when you are fighting psi enemies it can be the difference between success or team wipe.
6. Oh well done elentil, looks like you will be busy with nappies and baby poop for a while, but you know where we are when she is asleep and you need a break
7. Our VG has only 20 members and at leat 7 of them are masterminds. 5 of them have dark as their secondary and we have earned enough prestige to get a fully functional base with teleports to all areas, medical bay, workshop etc but are still only halfway to the first healing badge. The storm warriors SG has been running for over a year and has run out of things to buy, but still only has the first healing badge.

I think it is one of the hardest to get of all the base badges.
8. I did manage to make a "naked toon" with Queen Nefertiti as an experiment and it worked quite well. All she was wearing when you looked at her was a scarf and a pair of high heels

It was simply by using a white skin colour with a white body suit. For fun she also was surrounded by pink body sparkles. Everybody I teamed with in the costume were amused by it, I had no complaints at all. I did get bored though, and changed it
9. I think you got abused by some poor delicate soul who entered a pvp zone for a reason other than pvping. I'm assuming he wanted you to let him go rather than beat him into a greasy spot. However, as you were doing nothing wrong and the aforementioned greasy spot shouldn't have been there if he wasn't prepared to be attacked by a passing villain, just add him to your friends list and chase him round till he gets the message. Gently though, you don't want to be accused of griefing...

Sorry, I just get annoyed when people become abusive when they are warned that they can be attacked. If I go into a pvp zone for other reasons I go at stupid o'clock in the morning after making sure its empty.
10. In that situation I wouldn't complain unless you followed me round and ganked me every time I popped my head round the door. If I entered the zone I expect to be attacked. If I'm after shivans or whatever I check to see who is in the zone and if its busy come back another time. All I'm saying, from a rp point of view, is that in the comics you never get the hero or villain just attacking without any warning unless its a pre-planned ambush. They always yell some sort of abuse to start with
11. I think that a warning of attack might be a courtesy though. I don't like pvp and never have, but accept that I am in danger from other players if I go in. However, its really annoying to be flying along or running round to get sniped with no warning. If it is a character with few defences you can be dead before you even see where the attack is coming from. That is one reason why I don't like pvp, and the other is when it is a team going for lone players. I honestly don't see the fun in 8 people ganging up on a solitary person with no warning. A shout of "Hold villain, I shall smite thee in the name of the elder gods" would at least give fair warning. "I can see you, but you can't see me mwahahahaha" from a stalker is just as acceptable. At least I can be ready then. I have a sort of fair chance to stop what I'm doing and switch mental gears then.
12. People play the game in different ways, and one persons idea of bases is different to anothers.

What bugs me as a leader in a large sg is the rapid increase in rent compared to the earning rate. As our members reach level 50 we end up having to swap them over to another storage sg to make room for new lowbies just to earn prestige to keep the base running.

I'm not sure exactly what the devs ideas were when they came up with the system as they are very quiet about the whole thing, but a red name said months ago that it was not wai. What they mean by that I don't know, but I do know that a lot of people wanted to run an sg as a small intimate group of friends with a fully functional base, not as an impersonal monster obsessed with recruiting new members just so they can upgrade the power control and base hospital.

We have 75 members and are roughly number 25 in the top 100 groups. Most of the members are active, but like to have anything up to 6 different alts in the group. Earning rent becomes difficult when there are not 75 seperate people earning prestige. I think the figure is closer to 40 people playing 75. In my experience with the coalition our sg isn't alone in this. We like the players we chat with and if we create a new alt we are going to add it to the one group not spread them out over different groups to the detriment of prestige earning. If rent is based on total prestige earned/ value of base then it will always be a problem with the law of diminishing returns. The more prestige we earn, the more rent we pay, and the more rent we pay, the more prestige we need to earn to pay it.

Ultimately, what is the point of rent? Why do we need to be penalised for something that is in no way affecting gameplay? Surely it is better for small groups to get the same level playing field as large groups. Large ones will obviously get things quicker than small ones, but small ones will get there in the end. The way it works at the moment, small groups are going to grind to a halt at a lower level than large ones just because they hit the rent ceiling where everything they earn is going straight out again every month. If the prestige cap was removed, and increased per level the same way that inf and xp do then it wouldn't matter. At the moment, after level 25 and certainly 35 the prestige earning is drastically reduced. As the sg members go up in level you have to recruit low level members, not because they are friends or you like them, but because they are low level and have half a million prestige tucked in their belt. This is like the x-men setting up a stall at the local high school careers fair next to Magneto and competing for members because the rents due. "Join the x-men and get a free i-pod." "No, join the brotherhood of evil mutants and get a free i-mac and a coupon for a bikini waxing!" It aint gonna happen.

so i was not there...
didnt want to spend so much inf, and didnt have the Inf for it,also after the raid it means i had to change my cossie back again, and that costs Inf again, this is not to whine, but more to get the same old discussion going again on WHY does it cost so much at the tailor?,i think this needs a change.
make a hami raid cossie will people say,and im planning on this but i didnt do my 4th cossie mish yet and i like my other 3 as they are,and i dont wanna change 1 every time because of a raid.
i know u wanted to give inf for the aura change wen needed but what if 20 peeps come to ask for inf because of that? its gonna cost a lot because peeps want there aura back 2 after the raid...
thats why i think the costs at the tailor are to much expensive....

[/ QUOTE ]

It didn't bother me as I still have 14 free costume tokens

How do you explain to people that don't hit Hami becasue they are confused and get out of the bubble when people say so only to find that they don't get the Hami-o as they have not clocked up the kill. regardless of the guides etc, there will always be people who either get confused or have not the guide.

[/ QUOTE ]IMO, people who don't even take the effort of reading a guide or listening to the instructions don't DESERVE a reward.

[/ QUOTE ]

Totally agree. It doesn't take long to read the guide, and the raids would go alot smoother if everyone read it.

[/ QUOTE ]

I couldn't follow the guide as I had no mental frame of reference. I did start to, but my brain wasn't working. What I did instead was to follow the very clear instructions in purple on request channel. I didn't have a single problem with them, and have nothing but respect for the organisers. If people followed them as they came up there wouldn't be a problem at all.

Actually, being given a choice of rewarfd sounds better than getting a random one, so fixing this bug will be a top priority now for the devs

[/ QUOTE ]

I never thought of that. We have inconvenienced customer support (who were both swift and fair.. well done CS), its a bug that gives some players an advantage, and it will probably happen weekly. I expect the bug to be fixed by thursday......
17. Just to update, customer support has been in touch and has given me the choice of which hami-o I want. It was irritating not to be awarded at the end of the event, but even better now as I can pick which one I want

Thank you to customer support for the swiftness of their response, and thank you to the organisers for a smooth seamless event. If people on union want to do the event as easily as we did on defiant then I reccomend reading the hami guide.
18. didn't get a hami-o with lord blue even though i did some damage to him according to the combat log. Sent a petition but I'm not expecting anything to come of it.....

And standing on a hill watching numbers going down. Big fun
19. I'll be there with Lord blue, empathy defender. no idea what i'm doing and the guide to what to do is a total mystery to me. tried to read it and got lost about paragraph three so prepare to see a defender faceplant a lot

prestige

Storm Warriors has an open recruitment policy too. Unfortunately it means we keep filling up and have to kick inactive members to make room for new people who want to join. Any character that hasn't been logged on for 25 days gets a nice e-mail explaining the policy and an invite to rejoin if the toon becomes active again. Its a bit upsetting for all concerned to be honest, I wish there was an unlimited membership number so that people at college or uni didn't get kicked by accident.

I'm not sure what the figures are, but we are at number 44 as of yesterday. I also am amazed and impressed at how many vg's are above us. Kudos to you people. As someone early in the thread said, its harder to fund a prestige only alt with the lack of 50's.

AV help desk

never really noticed any difference with shadowhunter in or out of the water. I wonder if Bridger could do a bit of rumour control and let us know if it does actually make a difference? There are a couple of things he has stamped on in the past such as "do not click the glowies" in the respec, so I'd like this one clarified too please
