Quote:Monday, Wednsday and Friday Incarnates Trials with Cinder Frost as well as Friday and Sunday MSR with Noyjitat. Saturday's are Energizing Ion's Underground runs, so that left Tuesday and Thursday for max participation and not stepping on another event. I checked with my TS server and I can have max from them on Thursdays so there you have it...Yeah. I'd be down for that, but Thursday is a odd day of the week for me. Maybe try on weekends. Like Saturday?

OK...Starting Nov 10 at 9pm EST (Thursdays) I will be hosting weekly MoKeyes Trials. Let's get together and get this badge for the people who want and need it. Hope to see you all there...
Cheers -
I'd like to get this started again. I can host if Arby isn't available...Feedback please...

Just a quick observation...If you are going straight Ranged with Energy/Energy 2 words...MEDICINE POOL...
Oh, and High Ranged Defense is nice but 90% of AoE is Ranged too...Might want to buff those numbers...
Cheers... -
Well from the old school side of the house there are really only 2 solid secondaries for a Blaster. /EM and /Devices due to the actual STUFF they have not for the thematic appeal.
/EM has Power Boost and Boost Range, 2 of the most "Blaster" enhancing powers out there. Also if you Blapp, Energy is the flavor of choice 9 times out of 10 due to the disorient factor.
/Devices has all the cool tricks from smoke to stealth to caltrops to trip mines. Also since Blasters are a bit lacking in the origin pool, this is the only real choice for Natural Blasters.
All the other secondaries (IMO) are thematic and have a lot of flash, but none of the other secondaries are the "total package" you get from EM and Devices. I have 1 of each primary and other than Psi/MM (for the thematic) all of my Blasters are Ranged (no melee) and have either /EM or /Devices.
Good luck with your choices, hope they are fun and leave you smiling at 50.
Cheers -
Just wondering, but if you are building for Fly/Hover, why care about Melee Def?
Hasten is actually a waste if you build a /EM blaster correctly. And skipping Power Boost? Well there goes a near perma +DEF buff.
Hover + high Ranged and AoE defense = Tankmage, Blast Tank, etc...
I see these builds flying around the forums and wonder who thinks these are good? Meanwhile I'm clearing ITF maps +2 to +4 solo because nothing can hit me in the sky. Go figure. Even the Crystal mission is a cake walk.
Well lets just say that nice for a contest but practical application would be lacking in my opinion! -
Welcome back...BTW...We got a lot of shiney items while you guys were off playing WoW, Star Trek, or whatever... Help channel is your friend...And yes...Fitness Pool is now inherent at level 2 and speed run times for a STF are about 20-30 mins...
Cheers -
And just to remind you, the last time someone messed with the Dbase in Mids "unofficially", all builds with that version were broken on the release version.
Patience is a virtue when we are trying to get so many new things into the release version. -
Skip the Dark Manipulation and put Energy Manipulation in the build...
Dark Manipulation is clearly a Blapper set, and Dark Blast has such great powers that take advantage of Power Boost and Boost Range. Seriously, the DEVs choice of powers for Dark Manipulation are really sucky IMO. -

Hey look...It's the "I'm in charge guy"...This is Liberty...We have our channels...Wait for the Exhaulted forums to come up and post there, stop trolling the real servers!
-
MARTy and I are staying on Liberty!!!
-
I'm all for this but I would want a set that could go either way...A ranged only Blaster or a Blapper. The set should offer equal value for either type and a nice combination if you take them all...
Here's my idea.
Crane Kick - Smashing/Knockback chance to KB online with Power Thrust
Punch - Smashing/Knockdown
Focus Chi - MA version of Build Up
Cobra Kick - Smashing/Disorient
Quickness - +Recharge, +Speed, Res(Slow)
Hand Clap - PBAoE Foe Knockback/Disorient
Power Boost - Special
Boost Range - Increase Range
Eagle's Claw - Smashing/Disorient
Damage of course would be dialed to proper Blaster Secondary levels, but this seems like a nice balance to me.
Cheers -
How about a targetable attack and buff drones as a base items (like the Rikti statues in RWZ) only one would be for attacking the other for trying out/buffing powers on.
This would be a great way to check out colors on powers, recharge, and whatever else players want to do. It would also allow someplace to Siphon Speed off of, Domination building and other helpful things.
Cheers -
It's not down EVERY WEEK, it's been down for 2 whole weeks!!!
-
OK...I understand the weekend, but now even after maintenance and still down...COME ON DEVs!!!
-
Just confirming, still down. I'm guessing we won't see any change until after the weekend!
-
Actually, I hope the order is more like:
-Dark Blast
-Gloom
-Umbral Torrent
-Abyssal Gaze
-Aim
-Moonbeam
-Tenebrous Tentacles
-Life Drain
-Blackstar
Would look more like the ordering of the other sets for Blasters.
This set looks good, too bad the DEVs gave us a Blapper Dark Man. set...
Well Dark/Energy FTW... -
Quote:Totally agree...Barf. I was really, really hoping against odds for a non blap centered set. At least shadow maul is there instead of having shadow punch. When the teaser mentioned dark armor and dark miasma, i was hoping for more of those and less dark melee though, anything besides a dmg aura and blaps would have made for a more outside the box set. Heres a few powers i would sub in for almost anything here....
Siphon life- a blap, but a blap with a purpose besides damage. a blaster with a self heal outside of the medicine pool would be nice. I am looking forward to life drain because of this. In the case of this "beta" I would drop it in instead of midnight grasp.
Howling twilight.... possibly modified for self only. how awsome would it be to have a self rez besides rise of the pheonix? Would free up choices for the pooles in the end game.
Soul transfer....same as above
opressive gloom, cloak of fear.... I actually thought these had a good chance, like world of confusion but fear or stun instead of confuse.
And of course cloak of darkness. i thought this had a good chance too.
Oh well. At least the "beta" of dark blast looks fun. Dark/energy it is! Man I wish they had put one of the rez powers in. Blasters would get so much use out of them.
And...Where is Shadow Cloak? A dark stealth power was the BIG take for DM...Now I'm looking at Dark/Energy...At least I will have Build Up and don't have to Mob surf to get a damage buff..
Not your best effort DEVs, I'm kind of NOT looking forward to this now... -
Really? Perma PA Dom? You would be UNDERWHELMED? You really have HIGH expectations I guess...I am hoping for a Ill/Energy Dom. Please Santa...

Quote:OK...First off Build Up is a 100% Damage buff, Aim is 62.5% Damage buff. That is quite a significant damage buff. I will have to agree with this post using it as a 1-2 boost before starting an attack on a group/individual.For sustained fire, I think you'd get more out of them by alternating them rather than simul-popping them. In a case like an AV beatdown, or anything that is going to survive long enough that Build Up and AIM become part of your "chain", the up front "DIE NOW" power that having them stacked becomes far less signifigant, and the wasted buff time of animating both of them before you start firing becomes slightly more signifigant. So pop one, chain for 10 seconds, pop the other, chain for 10 seconds.
These powers are amazing. Even with "ED capped" damage, AIM consistutes (roughly) a 30% increase in your damage, and Build Up 50%. Nothing to scoff at, never mind the signifigant to-hit buffs ensuring that you hit defense users and +Level foes with reliability. Even if you have other damage buffs on you in a larger-team setting, unless you get to the cap, each activation of these powers STILL adds the same number of "damage points". I don't think there's any amount of damage buffing that would make the one shot you deal in the time you'd have "wasted" on Aim deal more damage than Aim would add to your chain for 10 seconds, especially with the kinds of attack chains a Rad/EM blaster could toss together.
Against normal spawns, they should be activated during "free" time, in between spawns, just before you engage, so you're not taking "time out of" your other activities to use them. And in these cases, stacking them and launching the Haze, the Ate and the Bomb (Finish on the bomb for ease of use) will cut down many things, leaving smouldering bosses ripe for the cooking/punching as the case may be.
As far as rotating it in, I will usually fire one at a time during a protracted fight to add the damage buff as well as the ToHit increase each power adds. For example, BU, Aim intiate attack chain...BU and/or Aim recharges, hit one or the other, continue to fight, first one wears off, click second. This way you can maintain the damage buff from your Defiance as well as adding the damage and ToHit from the BU or Aim. I found I lost 1 or 2 Defiance buffs from adding both in a row as well as over all DPS drop, so I started using this method.
Biggest thing (and it seems you have this) is finding the lead off attack chain that will give as much damage as possible during the 7 seconds they are both up on the the initiation of combat. (7 seconds comes from firing BU or Aim (1.17 sec cast time) then the second (another 1.17 cast time) and then cast time of your first attack. Sniper attack, though high in damage, actually uses more time from your BU/Aim combo, so it would make that initial UBER damage time even less!)
Cheers -
I would suggest using Sentinal to export your live game build to Mids'. Did you use the "unofficial" patch for inherent fitness. We know this creates a file that is corrupt when used with "official" releases.
