all defenders are healers eh? why dont you take a look at the powersets before you talk, 5 of the 13 def primaries do not have heals... and even more can be used for WAY better means then to heal
-
im thinking about starting a wp/ma tank, maybe /stone not sure yet
anyway i have a question about MA
i know that i cant stack the 10% def buff that strom kick gives but if use the power again before the buff wears off will it reset the buff or do i have to wait for it to expire then do it again?? im just wondering if i have to worry about downtime for the 10% def buff unless im just starting a group -
this is a build i made for my inv/ss tank
i put the incarnates that i will most likely get on him to show you what he could be like with them on..
i would have put vorpal judgement on the build in mids but theres no way to take off the 30% def buff with the power slotted..
i havent even gotten a lore incarnate so i dont know what i will get for that.. if there are any ideas they would be welcome.. what are the best for damage what are the best for support...??
the reason i didnt put more aegis in RE is cause mocking betreatment has the bonuses that i needed from aegis and they were capped and i wanted 7.5 rech from MB not 5 rech from perfect zinger..
any opinions on my build or incarnate decisions please tell
PS i know i dont need the KB proc in tough but i wanted the def bonus from the set..

lol yea i know, it can always be better... i should have said what kinda of playstyle i was going for with this toon, i hate to solo so i dont really care about having too much damage on this controller.. i went with earth/dark to be a control/debuff/support toon and i knew i wouldnt get that much damage out of it.. i looked at everything you said (local) and i agree with all of it but the reason i got ice storm is cause i wanted to get it into my location aoe chain and i know its a bit off 4-5 sec but with activation times and such it should be good
heres the tweaked build

Quote:Are you ******* kidding me? Every single Sg I just listed does not do open recruiting. All of them do various things for the community from running hami raids, community events and give away assloads of money to the server without one drop of damn drama. So if an SG doesn't run RECRUITING events then they are ignoring people? Wow. I don't want to recruit your members and I can assure you the SG's I listed don't want to either. To be quite blunt we know that taking in people from an SG known for drama (and AOW is solely because of you) brings unnecessary problems in to our SG's, in fact several of us learned that lesson after taking in homeless SF members a while back). The only reason I recommended some SG names is to let those people quitting AOW know that there are good SG's out there that are drama-free and actually help their members and community and not just talk a good talk. *cough*
That seems to be the point about SG leadership you are missing. Your SG doesn't grow from openly recruiting people. You can invite 10 new PUG/random person in AP to an SG and a week later 8 of them have quit and the other 2 have never signed back on. SG's get bigger, or more importantly stronger by the members and leaders having a good reputation in the community and teaming with others. When teaming they make new friends who become interested in their SG's. Then quality members are gained. But when you are a ******** and alienate yourself and your SG from the Community and you don't team with the Community then all you can get in the way of members is a bunch of people who don't stick around or who are just there to leech off of the SG to get PL's etc. Let your reputation be your recruiting strategy instead of wasting gaming hours trying to build something up that has no sturdy foundation and is just going to keep crumbling.
Let me tell you why UHB, Pingus, HOJ, RDLV, BOSS, EG, etc are so well known and respected on this server. Its not because they have a lot of members. It is not because of prestige ranking. It is because their members and leaders are very active in the community. They are all respected as being decent gamers and helping others. They all have ZERO drama for the most part.
You are on such a ******* rampage to boost yourself up and be part of the "kool kids" club that you perceive as being important on this server that you keep stepping on the foreheads of those you are pretending like you want to help to get to the top.
People that sincerely want to "help" (word you like to throw out a lot) others do so with no strings attached. Do so without causing discomfort and drama for those that they are trying to help. They do so with no benefit to themselves. (That means not recruiting during these "help" sessions.)
Community Organizers, whether in RL or in a video game are priveledged to serve a community. The community should not have to kiss their *** for that service. You don't throw freaking events like a psycho tyrant and expect people to enjoy your events or respect you. That is something that is earned. Its not earned in one or two events either I can assure you of that.
Look at every other person on this server that regularly throws events. Do you see people going off on them like they do you? Do you see them having to promise billions of dollars in prizes to even get any interest? Peoples reactions to you is because of you. Not your SG. Hell before your event the other day I didn't know not one single person from AOW. The only experience I have had with any AOW members besides yourself is the occassional person on a PUG. I hate to tell you this but most on this server are probably in the same boat. The only thing most of us know about AOW is their leader who keeps bringing drama not only to themselves but to their SG's name.
And just because Ping is full of win, I shall quote him.
P.S. How the hell has this thread not been smacked or locked yet? Mod8 are you busy playing CO?
perfectly said -
Quote:or just maybe you dont have to go psycho in the 1st place how about thatIf you were half decent people you could have said "You Are Wrong About People Fel!" but i would like to hear someone say Let's Work On Something Together or Let's Have More Fun Events. I am constantly trying to get people to help each other (so why does everyone find this so offensive?)
Quote:The EXACT MESSAGE i got from Cherry-2000 was "i am dropping 3 AOW divisions because we do not see very many messages in coalition and want to make room for some friends sg's"
There is no-one or supergroup that would NOT take offence to this kind of message, so for all of you to attack my character, shows a lack of your own, i am trying to look out for the best interests of our group.
Quote:The difference between me and all of you is i back my words with actions: If the other 6 leaders of AOW demand it, i will step down as coalition manager, something none of you would do.
even more crazy talk thatll make people not like you and AOW
Quote:Toxic you have a right to your opinion, i rely on you to keep me honest, i will consider your words as always, think about my words and actions then get back to me. We went through this before when we dropped PoN, DG, FS, and ToS from coalition, this is not any different, having non-AOW divisions in coalition does not help our own sg grow. Then people complain we are not big enough, you can't have it both ways.
Quote:We are ALL here to have fun, so let's go out and have FUN!
LOL ARE YOU SERIOUS??? i have many friends in many other SGs AND A COUPLE SGS THAT ARE MENTIONED THERE (in kats post) that have asked me tons and tons of times to quit AOW for theyre SG and those are people that i play with on a daily basis that help me do things on a daily basis in game (way more then i can say for you!!), ive never seen you help anyone in coalition or anywhere else for that matter that didnt benefit yourself and everytime you do help people it has to be all about you and the way you wanna do it or you just get all by-polar on our ***** and come up with an excuse to leave -
OK THATS F'N IT.... fel ive stayed with you through a lot of these schizophrenic moments of yours but ive had enough, im not gonna look like a jackass for being in your SG anymore.
I'm not gonna list all of the other things youve done in the past ot make people not like AOW cause the list is too long but the things youve done in the past couple days are enough alone...
You go and turn on cherry and the stoned templars wanting to drop 1-2 of our divisions from coalition cause THEY DONT EVEN HAVE 1 ACTIVE MEMBER IN THEM ( we dont even have enough active members to fill 1-2 SGs let alone 6) and theyre just wasting space and you go all crazy on them saying that they dont help us and dont help our SG get bigger, WHY SHOULD THEY??? its not theyre SG its YOURS and what the hell have you done ever to help theyre SG along??? jack ****, you say they never wanna team with us and just keep to themselves, you know what? maybe its cause of you being crazy!!! they ALWAYS shout in coalition to get AOWers into theyre teams/TFs your just too stupid to realize it with your head so far up your ***
now your turning on the entire champion server??? ALL of my toons have been taken out of AOW and to make sure i dont get any tells from you about me being a saboteur or whatever other paranoid dillusions you might come up with im gonna just go ahead and put you on ignore so i dont have to deal with that cause ive already had to deal with enough drama for you.
good riddence, Emprad -
Quote:more damage ( not too much more but more) but less debuff totalsNot only can I have a TA/Arch defender blue side, but now I can have an Arch/TA corrupter red side! It's genious! I honestly can't wait to see how this toon is gonna play with the higher dmg scaling. My defender can put out some good numbers, but the corr is gonna be just, *drool*
-
trick arrow!!! it has more debuffs then rad by far (if u wanna debate it check it out in mids 1st) it has an extra single target hold (ice arrow), an extra aoe hold (emp arrow) which is also the best regen/rec debuff in the game, oil slick is just amazing!! great def/run speed debuff with knockdown and if you slot it with damage like you should you can get some amazing numbers off of it escpecially if u have all your debuffs and a couple acid arrows working them... imagine rain of fire that does ticks of 10 instead of 4-5 and it lasts twice as long...
its overkill how much these 2 sets have to offer each other, it has almost the best of every debuff you could get in the game and a small army to tank and fight for you
heres a build i had in my mids, it has perma hasten, 4 seconds off from perma phantom army, you can stack acid arrow up to 4 times ( 4x acid arrow= around -110 def debuff and 60 res debuff) disruption arrow is almost double stacked, need 1.5 more seconds off the rech to make it actually double (2x disruption arrow = another -30 res, glue arrow is pretty much double stacked....
if u have all of those on at once do the math u have -110% def debuff (+oil slick its 135% def debuff) 90% res debuff, 30% tohitt debuff with spec terror, emp arrow is 1000% regen and rec debuff and ZOMG if u power boost it ( obvioustly you cant power boost every one but...) itll get the def debuff up to 200ish% the tohitt debuff to 48% the regen and rec debuff to just under 2000%
GO WITH TRICK ARROW
its not a cheap build but its not too expensive either, really only the ragnarok set and the lotgs will be the worst part

Proton Scatter: Original looking, but one could argue its a blaster cone attack.

its the animation for fulcrum shift... -
[ QUOTE ]
32 Rad/Rad defender here, and even with accelerated metabolism and a res debuffed foe, even my aimed snipe does less damage than my claw scrapper's unbuffed shockwave.
I mean I still do helpful team functions, but I feel fundamentally useless besides that. Like even activating my secondaries is a end waste.
[/ QUOTE ]
most defender secondaries do a side effect like ice and psy does -rech, dark -tohitt, rad -def, sonic -res and so on, and since its a defender set it will have the most debuffage of any other AT that has that also has that powerset...
if your looking for damage on a defender you need to go with sonic, psy or archery for rain of arrows you can get RoA up every 20-25 sec with the right IO build and as a def youll most likely be debuffing or whatever your primary is most of the time so you only really need a few solid attacks anyways
-
most blasters that i see dont use fly and even still there are lots of other powers for other ATs that dont work if your off the ground, i would like to see rad or dark blast in blasters but i would like to see new powersets more
-
this would be pretty cool... smashing with some -def debuffs like earth troller
