  1. Yes, another palette please! I've been watching this thread and the other for a while wanting to participate, but couldn't since I didn't have an active account. That's changed and I'd love to give it a try.
  2. Mega-Congrats to you and your family Mardun!
  3. You are welcome to draw Phoenix-Knight if you like.
  4. Wow! That is one of the coolest things I have seen in a while! Very impressive!
  5. Any suggestions or critiques at all? I really want to improve.
  6. Okay, so let's say that the holidays and the fact I will be starting a cool new job soon got the best of me and I have updated in quite a while. I have made some progress, but still have a far way to go. My next focus will be repositioning the head to make the pose feel more alive, make the armor more ornate, flesh out the horse more and make it seem less 2d, and finally add some lightning. Enjoy:

  7. Yay, I got color!

    Looking spectacular Alex!
  8. Okay, here is the concept slightly modified (but nowhere near complete yet) with a much more interesting pose. If I can finish this, I want to put him on horseback, but horses are gonna be a challenge.

I still got that feeling like I am doing some things fundamentally wrong. Critiques more than welcome.

    Enjoy:

    Draft 2
  9. Well, since there seems to be an overall positive view towards the concept, I am currently working on a new draft using a more dynamic pose. Maybe I will get a copy of the progress up sometime today.
  10. So I wanted to get back into drawing as a hobby. Seeing as TA currently holds the monopoly on the CoH art department, I figured I'd start with him. This is a very early concept for a medieval version of TA (hence its simplicity). Mostly I want to see how everyone likes the concept. I would like to work on a more dynamic pose.

I am sure there is a lot wrong with it. If anyone has a link to a good guide for drawing human form, I'd really appreciate it.

    Anyways, hope you like it:

  11. Number 2 is my favorite. The red near the face really does a lot to prevent the character from being washed out by dark colors. It's still Mardun's style, but brightens things up a bit and creates a better look in my opinion.
  12. Thank you so much for the awesome chibi Crimson! I am totally digging the look!
  13. They needed to give you more pages than that! In fact, a whole issue dedicated to MMOArt is in order I think!
  14. Love the WIP on my character, can't wait to see the finished piece!
  15. This is so awesome!

I opened the latest update and immediately found my character!
  16. I throw my character into the hat:

    Phoenix-Knight

Looking forward to see what you are planning.
  17. Is that suppose to be Rawr in the dryer just behind Peregrin in the first frame?
  18. OMG...LOL!

I am laughing so hard right now!

    Mmmm...tumble dry.
  19. The wings are amazing...
  20. Personally, I prefer the second one. More continuity between the individual peices, plus the ornate pattern on the chest peice helps to balance all the buckles in the legs.

I might possibly consider a slightly different belt though. The one you got with the second style just really doesn't mesh with any of the other peices. I'd suggest one with buckles or one with more ornate detailing, or even a minimalist type belt just to add form and texture to the mid region.

i'm still using the standart Win XP background... do you take requests?

i could use a nice background

i'm very capable of using Photoshop to create things, but i suck completly at making those borders and such that you use, got any tips for that atleast?
