Ralphie shot his eye out.
Honestly, with a dash of seriousness:
1) I do think that a player should at least be able to select the power in creation, look at the powers... and I'd like to see them allow players to check out the customization options. Just don't let them enter the game until they buy the powerset.
2) I find the notion somewhat... appalling... to think that bought powersets "need" to be one of the very top performers due to the money spent on them. I mean, I'm not worried, because -as much as some adhere to these ideas- there aren't really bad performers in CoH. However, the notion that bought powersets need to be the higher performers is the opposite of what I'd expect. The last thing we want is the top tier performers being locked behind purchased powersets. Certainly not out of a necessary fulfillment. That seems absurd to me.
These games... are about fun. Fun comes in an enormous variety of forms for people with varying tastes and preferences.
If your issues are with the numbers... That was pretty much the one and only issue that you could have made yourself aware of without buying the powerset.
Whether or not you knew about typing the power names in chat... You clearly know about the forums.
Once again... I believe that Paragon Studios should supply all of this information for everyone, preferably through the store/game interface (easily accessible and apparent to all). However, it is not their fault if someone decides to buy things without looking into it.
You make that choice.
Buy what is behind the curtain or don't.
They don't force anyone to buy things.
And you know that there are avenues available for researching aspects of this game.

I kind of feel like MA's alternate animations make Street Justice invalid...
However, the two sets really do have different feels and I like them both (from what I got a taste of in beta, at least).
Regardless... I would love to see some more alternate animations for Martial Arts... Both in normal-ish punch variants of the remaining powers that only have kicks (at least Thunder Kick and Crane Kick)... As well as some moves derived from various Eastern martial arts.
However, you said something that wants me to remind you that "martial arts" doesn't simply mean the eastern styles. So, the punches (as they are styled) are not out of place or anything. -
Aggelakis didn't call you a liar.
Just that it didn't match their experience, but also included "unless they changed it".
I'm curious, did you receive a rename prompt/option with the two characters that didn't get the 1 added at the end? (Of course, you may not have even logged them in, hehe)
Anyway, zero worries! -
You just had to drag up the *one and only error I have ever committed on these forums... didn't you???
* or more -

Entirely subjective!!
With a fresh take on break dancin'! -

In order to fit into the game, how about...
Dirk Defeater... -

Quote:Huh... I didn't know that. You will get a rename when you transfer even if the name is available.
When you transfer it'll come up with the name and a 1 at the end. All you have to do to keep your name if it's free is remove the 1.
Or you can pick another one!SO transferring will allow you to change the name and free up the name on the original server. Or you could keep the name on both servers.
Not sure if there is an hourly cool down on transfers but I know I was able to transfer one and then another the next morning.
It wasn't that way when I used them... Back when they had free transfers for a bit.
That's the only time I ever used any server transfers. In that case, I'm pretty sure there was only a rename option if the name had already been taken on the new server you'd moved to. -

I had been wondering if it was just a matter of relative server load and if the Freedom server still had some more advanced tech for server capacity, as opposed to actually more players on Virtue vs. Freedom.

Quote:Agreed. You're right...I will admit that had something to do with me necro-ing the three threads.
However, it was more about showing people that you should be more open to player suggestions.
Not one...but three of my suggestions were ridiculed with such hostility...and all three were implemented. -
I feel the need to play some Destroy All Monsters... where is the box with that system in it...
-
I honestly expected to see a reply from me in this thread, because I know I also felt the same way as you in your initial post here.
And I really find it shameful the way some people respond to suggestions. Ridiculous.
When I first saw this, I thought it was poor form for necro-ing this just to say "I told you so" (Plus, like I said, I always felt like this move was a no-brainer as well... I can hardly believe anyone opposed the idea)... But, after reading the first few replies (and then practically the entire page) my mind changed completely... And, if I had know about it, I'd have necro'd it too.
I am behind this raising... 1 million %!

Haha...
I just have to say one more thing about the Mathew Broderick Godziller movie...
It was so bad, not even Hank Azaria could save it.
About the new Godzilla... I heard he sparkles in the sunlight! -
Dispari, I certainly do not think that you're an outlier for having the opinion that the costume slots are priced too high, even at $7.50.
To each their own, of course, but I don't feel right agreeing to those prices.
So, we'll see what happens.
No big deal either way!
I've lived without them and had tons of fun. I'd like them, but only if it feels right to me.
To be honest, I still think that $10 for the powersets are too high.
It is all relative, of course and I don't blame anyone for buying these things and/or agreeing with the prices! -
Hehe, I don't think you realize the reason "parsec" is used for "speed" in that universe.
Shall I 'splain?
The hypserspace traveling system, as we all know, is handled by computer systems that must plot a very accurate course in order to avoid major disasters (such as flying right through a star or bouncing too close to a super nova...). Add in asteroid fields, comets, planets and all other celestial bodies and you have to do some mapping out.
So, there are a ton of twists and turns and bends in any long distance hyperspace course.
Speed is improved by traveling the shortest distance.
Trimming the travel distance by plotting each and every twist and turn as well as possible shaves off travel time.
The shortest plotted course through hyperspace is the fastest run.
To travel the Kessel run (an area filled with tremendously dangerous obstacles) by traveling only 12 parsecs was remarkable!
It's okay, not everyone is familiar with this. -
I am reading this from my own home...
Via the INTERNET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Quote:Up a few replies:Cool. Now poke the powers that be for us and get a fix for the claim all button to ignore level 50 items on a non level 50 character would be nice. Really sucks not being able to use claim all on a non level 50 just because you have incarnate costume pieces. (it will give you an error when it trys to claim ascension pieces) Or you could remove that stupid level requirement from those costume pieces since it really is a bad idea having it to begin with. Either or would be great.
Quote:Good news on this particular problem.
There is an option, under general->email "hide unclaimable items" and then you can claim all.
Regardless, there is an option to hide the unclaimable items that will allow you to claim all. -
Truly amazing!
Thank you SO MUCH!
-
Quote:Also if you have acension pieces unlocked, and you're not level 50, claim all stops because it gets tripped up on those instead of skipping the ones you can't claim... Meaning you might get a few from "claim all" but then you gotta claim them manually which can be a lot.
I'd love to see the ability to delete options we don't want (Sprint powers, non combat pets etc) Or mark them as read and throw them in a different folder, and the ability for claim all to skip the level 50 parts when you're not level 50, instead of just not working.
Good news on this particular problem.

Yep, yep, I understand what you're saying and I would definitely like to be able to go to the power customization screen with unlocked costume pieces and powersets!
Visuals are important to me and, you're right, you can't see the Beam Rifle weapon options without it (I hadn't thought of that, since I checked them out during Beta).
I'd also like to see the costumes with the powers as it does sometimes make a difference, not to mention it is good to see the costume being animated a bit (see how it looks, what may clip a bit and how-so and such).
Not a huge deal, but I would very much appreciate the ability to check out the powers in there, for certain. -
Haha, I'd love that option, Sam!
I found "/em Smack" worked a teeny bit.
I was on as a barbarian with a magic sword who paused for a moment to consider running him through.
In the end... he was too defenseless... A worm better left for the law to collect and send to rot.
Haha... That option you suggested would really be a fabulous touch in this game!! Truly!
You know... one great thing about that ending was that I've long wanted to be able to arrest these guys.
And having him get on his knees with his hands up was somewhat satisfying, in that regard.
I'd love the option to beat people down and then use some sort of Arresting Power, as opposed to defeating them and teleporting them to the Zig (as is supposed to take place).
An actual, take-down and cuff 'em ability would be fun fluff (albeit entirely fluff... but, in my eyes... it is all 100% fluff, so...).

This I like!
Man... that Hollywood movie from the 90s was just terrible.
The original Godzilla was an amazing movie. I can imagine that they may try and do this one right. You include... Giant Godzilla (that resembles Godzilla)... and Destroying buildings.
And you keep it on that scale... Not a ton of baby Godzillas that look and act just like the raptors from Jurassic Park... O.o
