Quote:I'm just not sure how this is different from the Greek stuff that is only available for Valentine's Day...Quote:It isn't. The Greek stuff available only on Valentine's Day is just as bad.
If you want any of those pieces while the event is not running, ask around on your server and you're bound to find someone who is willing to run it with/for you!
I have a couple saved up still, on Virtue, I believe.
Heck, even with a couple of server transfers, if absolutely possible... you can get those items for any character at any time on any server. -
Quote:As one artist to another......
...I have nothing against bright colours, but dear frag can we at least observe basic artistic principal here?
...
While you are of course completely entitled to your personal opinion, please do not buy into any "artistic principal" as being a reason why the color choice may or may not work.
Embrace the fact that artists cannot please everyone at all times and that choices do not need reflect/follow tradition, mass approval, stereotypes, tradition, and so on.
If fuchsia is the color of death within that ancient society... then it makes perfect sense, no?
Just because you don't personally approve of that color choice does not make it incorrect... and neither does anyone else's teachings.
Just my friendly advice on artistic perspective.
Basically, I don't suggest touting our own artistry as reason for greater importance on our feedback, nor do I approve of artistic standards being used as rules to prove our personal opinions.
(Again, I say all of this as casually and friendly as can be!) -
I've always thought a tailor would be appropriate there... and a trainer as well. Now they can be one and the same, woohoo!
I also approve of the Flower Knight suggestion.
Does my approval make this happen? I forget how this works... -
Quote:Ouch, is that how the store works with individual items and packs?*sighs* Well, I bought the pack. I don't think I'll ever use 90% of it, but apparently if you buy any individual piece, you can never go back and buy the pack at pack-price again. So I hedged my bets in order to put a cravat on my new dominator.
I'm not happy about it though :P
I had it backwards! Sorry I gave the wrong answer to someone before!!
I honestly thought it allowed you to buy packs after you've already bought individual items from within it.
The vampire high collar is definitely something I want. With that alone being 200 points, if I remember correctly, I figure I may as well buy the pack.
Plus, I do love the Think Tank and the Medusa Hair.
I mean, I like and would like to have the whole pack... I'm just a bit torn, because I'm not entirely a fan of the things they are pumping out with some obvious limitations and quirks if they are just going to keep firing and forgetting.
I feel like I want to support them making oddball and unattached costume bits, but I also don't want to support packs that have relatively few options and too many pre-baked color options and problems (without any intention of making things a bit better).
Torn I am.
I'm attempting to not sound overly critical about it all. I just wasn't a fan of decisions made with the Animal Pack, especially concerning some limitations and desired tweaks (that seemed reasonable) and then even more so with the Steampunk Pack (the first pack I did not buy). And then the CoT pack felt even lesser to me. The Barbarian pack won out for me though.
There is excellent work in all of these, but... certain limitations are turning me off.
Which... is okay. I'd just like to feel better about 'em! -
I hear ya, Sam, and I agree. I've been thinking similar things. This shows the capability to do quite a lot. And I'd definitely like to see such things.
Although, it's really much like the Medieval Helmets and such, only it has some aura-like effects baked in and is even larger/bulkier.
Back to my Robby The Robot... I finally logged in to check the one aura I really wanted to try and I liked the result, hehe:

Based on the replies here, I'd say that it is an issue with those more concerned with numbers than you are.
(Please don't read my humor as disrespect for the logical arguments based around efficiency... I could see how some people would not like this pairing of powers, but I think it is more a matter of personal preference, which is something we can't really answer for the OP one way or the other... We could ask what playsets a person does enjoy and ones they do not enjoy and maybe that would lead to a better answer to the original question) -

I had a friend who did a Claws/SR Morph character with different travel powers as well (SR's Quickness plus Sprint and Ninja Run [Now Beast Run too] is not a bad super speed too, sans bright fire feet syndrome too... Worked well for the cheetah form anyway).
Personally, I've found Martial Arts to be a great one for various concepts due to the alternate animations.
The punches can really sell a super strong heavy hitter, the kicks can represent more agility and such nicely... You can save them differently per costume slot, so that works nicely.
The above is my plan for a character that takes on many different forms...
On another note... an idea hit me recently for the transformation character (werewolf type thing). Going with a human using all Temporary Powers (the guns, hand grenades, tasers) and whatever else works and then only using the other powers in the transformed state.
That's a more extreme thing possibly not related to this topic, but I figured I'd mention it.
Again, I really like MA, but it definitely depends on what you see the different forms being able to do and what looks right/wrong. -
Quote:Or just hit the "Clear" Button at the bottom of the screen and it'll give you that plain character we had before this patch.Just go under costumes: and hit bare option instead of deleting things one at a time
Some people will like this change, some will not. It's one of those things that one or the other will be on the outs with... However, there are easy ways to avoid any problems with it, beyond one extra click to start things off how you wish.
(Just for the record, I like starting with a clean slate best, but pressing the Clear button is good enough for me) -

Oh, man... You're already messing up!!
Haha, that is really terrific!! Congratulations to the both of you.
It is wonderful to make such a connection. I met someone very important to me through a previous video game. And, while we connected intellectually online, it is amazing when it is even stronger in-person.
I love the screenshot and caption!
Keep growing closer to each other and never stop (you don't want to go the other way).
Congratulations and best of luck! -
And here are reference shots of the Beehive hairstyle and the female vampire face.
Maybe these'd be good for the wiki...

Some great costumes in here!
I said I'd try a Robby The Robot type look and... I only did this off of memory and certainly did not go for an exact replica or anything (which is not possible anyway)... I just wanted it to stay away from being too "cool and modern" looking, hehe.
I really couldn't decide on an aura. I think this worked best, but I love the Beast Chest aura too...

Quote:Agreed. They still haven't fixed the female beast head packs, and David's acknowledged they probably never will. That's really damaged my confidence in paying money for stuff I know is already bugged, you know?
I feel the same way. That's why I'm basing all my purchases on what the items are in their current state and I don't want to reward practices that I'm not in favor of.
Hopefully they'll not neglect fixing things up (past, present and future) just because of the new thing every week goal.
*patiently waits and watches* -
I just wanted to add another positive note about the pack...
I've seen people asking (and responding) about whether the snake hair was animated and such and I just wanted to add that, while it is not animated, I think it really looks great. Very nice job on those snakes. Both in their look and their poses.
My wife has a Todd McFarlane Medusa figure that stands on her computer table... I have a feeling she will have to buy this! -
Quote:Yep, but there's nothing wrong about that, haha. Don't feel anxious.Yeah, I'll probably pick up 3-4 pieces, but I just can't see picking up the entire pack when I know I have no character to go with them and likely never will.
I started realizing that about some things that would (and then did) come out.
I used to be a bit of a completionist, but a few people have helped me to enjoy seeing the variety spread to the point that people will have things that others won't and that's actually a good thing (for variety's sake... not a have and have-not due to limitations thing). -
Quote:Until next week?...There is now no way in HELL that I'll ever purchase one of these again without careful preview work.
Haha, just teasing!
Yeah, honestly, I understand. I'm being careful (and even cheap, maybe), because I don't want to say "Sure, just toss it out there and I'll buy it no matter what".
The new thing each week is a nice idea and all... But I want to see a standard of quality.
Honestly, I'm a little disappointed that the base banners have been bugged since the issue's launch.
Bugs do happen and sometimes they take a while to fix (sometimes because they're particularly pesky, other times because they're lower priority), but... We can still voice a bit of disappointment when they do. -
I completely missed the broach! I'll have to check that out another time!
Check out Zombie Man's video for more footage too!
-
Nice job, ZM!
Huh, I didn't notice the broach! Very interesting... -

And here is the Medusa Face and Medusa Hair...
This face also has glowing eyes controlled by the face color option.
I really like the hair... I have to admit that I wish males could use it too!
Using the Viper Face:
P.S. I'm using the Beast Aura - Breath in the above Medusa costumes. -
New Vampire High Collar Cape option (just a new collar, no new cape)!
What better than throw it on an old Dracula costume I had saved...
And with the new Bat Aura too!
Oh, right, there's a new "Vampire Face":
It comes with glowing eyes, controlled by the face color:
The eyes default to a Red Color (here it is in Black, which results in red):
But they are overcome by the glow, the brighter the color option (here is white):
I forgot to grab the female Vampire Face...
Here is the female's Beehive Hairstyle:
