Now I can understand a bit better where you were coming from and/or why.
That is a rather silly implementation.
I'm imagining it has something to do with those channels both being for Free users, but... Yeah, that does seem nonsensical.

I also certainly agree that using the Help channel, after an LFG channel is made available (and is in the same damn chat tab, lol) for LFGing is... nonsensical, hehe.

I do think it makes sense to use both Broadcast and LFG (and any other global channels that may have people looking for teams)... but, things will take time to settle out and who knows what habits the community may form.

So.......for someone who doesn't know how to edit chat tabs this is what they would see, with the double help/lfg posts:

    [Help]: Player X: DFB LFM
[Looking for Group]: Player X: DFB LFM
    [Help]: Player Z: BAF LFM
[Looking for Group]: Player Z: BAF LFM

What happens is that players who don't know how to edit chat tabs, and LFG being added to help by default, it could look like spam to them seeing people post the same message twice or more quickly. This is my beef and I should have been more clear earlier. That and I don't understand why someone with common sense enough to use the LFG channel would also be posting in help too.

As for other ways to post the same message quickly: yeah I never thought of that. Press Enter>Press up arrow key>Press enter again. Or Copy-Pasta.
No worries about not being more clear before, hehe.
I've been editing my tabs for so long now, I must admit that I forget how things are set by default and that some people are not that familiar and/or comfortable with editing and adding channels and tabs.

That being said, at least it is pretty simple and intuitive (not saying anything is every easy enough for all). Just right clicking on the tabs reveals a good amount of obvious options. Still... it'd be a good popup tip or tutorial lesson somewhere.

Really confused by this and decide to head to Dark Astoria and see Broadcast being spammed with Mag Farm Runs.

So wanting to really give it a try, and actually finish it I broadcast that I was doing Magisterium Incarnate Trial but let everyone know that it wasn't a farm run. Get a League together, finish first part, and about 5 people quit. Really annoyed by this, press on, couldn't get it going, try second time and this time success.

So is this what my experience with the Magisterium Incarnate Trial going to be like for the first week or so? Having to worry that people might bail as soon as they get their advanced psychic xp? Do the devs consider this an issue, should they even consider this an issue?
Uggh, that sucks that this has been your experience with trying to do the trial.
While I agree that they never should have set this up to be the only way to unlock the new incarnate power (while requiring multiple runs)...

It's pretty inexcusable to use a clearly-stated full-run of the new trial as a farm for yourself and quit after the first part.
That's not anyone's fault but ******** that don't care about other people's fun.
    That sucks.
If people want to run farms and quit after a certain point to get what they want, the way they want to - more power to them. Joining with you and bailing at that point anyway... is just lame.

First off, it is pretty simple to either copy and paste the message or just repeat the same message in a new channel (hit CTRL+UPArrow and you can scroll through your previous messages).

Secondly, it is a new channel and it is GREAT that people are using it and not just shunning the use of it.
Over time, the Help channel should no longer be used for such things.

    Thirdly... "aggressive LFM spammers"??
I'm sorry, but this is making me laugh.
You tag them with this overly negative name and try and make a case about how terrible they are...
Now, I tend to solo most of the time, so I am not an Aggressive LFM Spammer... nor am I a sworn follower or beneficiary of theirs. However, maybe we could call them over-eager... if they really are being over-eager.

Also, cross-posting in appropriate channels is perfectly fine.
If you're ever a member of several global channels used for teaming and networking, you'll see plenty of it and it makes perfect sense. Not everyone is on or monitoring each of those channels.
Hopefully, and it likely will, time will move along and the Help channel will lose its improper designation as the Freebie/Premium lfg channel.
However, Broadcast and LFG will continue to be used with the same messages, I have little doubt of that.
And hopefully, those within player-made global channels will "spam" within those many channels as well as LFG and Broadcast.

Spam, spam, spam, sewer trials and spam, but without the spam, please.

    Magic Bolero Bug

Yes, my wife noticed this last night as well.
I didn't get a chance to mess with it myself, but the exterior color was definitely off, and the colors were linked too. I think she even selected the same color for primary and secondary and the color was still off, but... I'll go and check that now.

    EDIT:
Yep, no matter the color selection, the exterior of the bolero cape is just shaded darker.

I'd say, for the sake of objectivity, they're doing something different, not "more important".
  7. Also, Steelclaw, you better be reading this...

As a lifelong artist/entertainer myself, I know it can happen... the negative feedback screams the loudest.
All I can tell you is that, in your case, that is folly. Pure nonsense.
You've made so many of us laugh and entertained us. I'm only sorry that you didn't realize that you've pleased way more people than you haven't.
And that's pretty much all we can ever hope to do.

Look at my SIG, you bastage and don't give up!

If anyone's nuke should be at least equal to a *base* Judgement, it's a blaster's. It's their primary. They're the ones giving up buffs or defense/resists for a damage secondary. The only real advantage a powerset nuke has is that it's available from 32 (blaster/corruptor) or 38 (defender) on. Meanwhile, *every* AT gets Judgement.
    ... WOW... Really???

Okay, I had it completely wrong!!
I'd never looked at the numbers and I guess I believed what a few people had said when Judgement first came out...
    Wow.
    That's nuts.
I thought the damage was a lot lower for the Judgement powers.
And, yeah, I use Thunderous Blast and Ion Judgement... although, I honestly don't use TB much at all...

Thank you very much for sharing those numbers, Memphis Bill. I guess I never looked because I didn't want to find that out!

  10. Steel...
I have one of your hilarious posts in MY SIG!!!!
You're going to have to provide a list of reason for why you'd retire, mate.

    Unacceptable, bub...

As for the suggestion... I find that interesting. I think that Nukes are going to be looked at, along with the blaster AT.
Although, I'm not sure the Judgements are as powerful as Nukes. Once you've got them slotted and such, I think the numbers are quite a bit higher.
Still... the Judgement powers are quite powerful and something should be done about Nukes... I, personally, would love to see them just do MORE damage and be more worth the crash.

    We'll see.

Come back... Come back... Come back, Steelclaw!!
    I loveses your lists.

I could be wrong, or not properly reading the sarcasm, but, for example: (all from this week’s Freebie Thread)

..Not sure what that is, but doesn't sound like Princess Hat ....

...ok that last one was a joke, but had to Quote it.

How about this. How about EVERYONE WHO DID NOT GET THE PRINCESS HAT AS AN OPTION, PLEASE POST YOUR ITEM BELOW, thanks.

    ...or...

If a red name wants to hop on here and confirm real quick that everyone gets same item, that would be great too. Cause based on this thread, I don't have the time and patience to go back through all other Freebie threads to find answer.
Yeah, this same thread has continued from last week's offering.

    No worries... mistakes happen!

Don't you step on my blue 'psuedo' dimension!
  14. Yeah, I am hoping customization/moving will come for this in the near future. It's a great idea and will allow a lot of interesting things, but not being able to move it is very annoying.
I think I'll bind some keys for those slots though...

So I have to take my eyes off the action and stop for 3-4 seconds to locate and fire a power by mouse. If it's something rarely used, that's fast enough, but if I need to do it a lot I'd rather take 20 seconds to open the power tab, scroll, and swap out something I don't need in that fight in exchange for knowing I can chord Ctrl+6 or whatever to fire it fast when I need it.

Probably more than you wanted to know, but you asked.
Yeah, I play the same way and rarely ever use my mouse to activate powers.
However, I thought I'd just mention (you may already know) that there is an option to lock your powers in the trays so that you cannot move them (accidentally or intentionally).
All you have to do is turn off that option if/when you want to rearrange them.
I can't quite remember where that particular option is within the Option menu... I think under General, but again, I'm not positive.

However, the sounds that went live were the middle set, rather than the ones that were on beta near the end of its testing.

I don't think there's any evidence to support the sound changes in I23 being a mistake.
Yes, I can second this is how things went down.

For what it is worth, I actually held off buying the set as I knew it was coming out with temporary sounds (that I didn't like).
I figured I wouldn't be playing it until they were changed, so I may as well wait anyway.
However, I am sorry that you don't like the new sounds as much, as it's no fun to have something you like taken away!
    Hopefully they'll grow on you.

Agreed. That is the worst decision to make when dealing with such a hat's colors.

I think this would be the best way to handle the colors.
I agree with you above... the way the colors are set up now, it becomes pretty much unusable except for some odd color choices for either hair or hat... or both.

Indeed. What I was saying (and it may not have been your fault, hehe, I ramble around sometimes) is that they've released things that were male only and somewhat recently ported them to females (parts of the Magic and Gunslinger Packs: Baron Jacket, Gunslinger Jacket and several items). And that is great!!
And it remains possible that some or all of the Carnival of Light costumes may be ported from female to male.
Since it takes time... it's a wait and see thing for me.

For the record though, those port jobs from male to female (on oft requested ports for female characters) came as Dink, a character artist, had some rare time to spend on it and made it happen.
Hopefully that can happen some more (both for male to female and for more female to male) as time continues to go by.

So, yeah, I was thinking about the CoL costumes as well when I typed that.
Just saying that now it is this way, but as things go, they may continue to balance out.

Not sure you're reading the right things though.
I may be wrong, but from what I understand, these sounds were put in during beta and have just been waiting, since then, to patch into live.

I've not heard Staff sounds today though (and I can't remember if the sounds on live had been updated since the set launched or not), so it is possible that something else may be up that I'm not aware of.
However, it sounds to me like you're saying that you liked the sounds that Staff launched to live with... and those were already slated to be changed, as newer sounds were in testing.

I understand the frustration. I just view it like this... when something calls for one or the other or both... I'd like the best call to be made.
I don't really hold the player character models as female and male and representing anything that requires fairness...
I do hold the themes and designs and attitudes they represent to be judged by societal standards... as in... a tendency towards tough guy and dainty girl is not always best. They are separate issues, but I understand why some feel like the newer trend is backlash.
    It's just completely different issues.
No reason a skull mask shouldn't be available for females.

Now... an all female costume pack with zero ports to males...
And things being ported from males to females... that will be judged by whether or not they get around to porting things from female to male, in my opinion.

Now is not constant though. Balance isn't always immediate. Things can be out of whack in the midst of it all... how it shapes up is a little more important, to me.
