  1. The humour comes from "Oh no, this is WoW!" and the fact that WoW is not like that (anymore).

The funny thing here, for me, is that the Gorilla has moved largely towards 5- and 10-person content; the 20- and 40-person days are long past.

Abyss. Her arc is too short. Needs to be longer, with more heroes to beat up.

  6. They still haven't changed the forum rules, Venture. You need to adjust your ultimatums, or your tolerance for what you call "fail".

They would, of course, have to link the one-time to all three choices. Otherwise, the only sensible thing to do is craft the 2-for-1, then buy a notice with your extra.

Of course, once Issue 20 launches, you will be able to build these abilities with stuff found while completing Incarnate Trials as well.
Since we can build abilities from stuff that come from Trials, and can get everything in Trials from shards, we can get Notices from shards.

You know what's epic? The "Save The World" mission at the end of Dark Watcher's arc. That final room full of Rikti, and just you, a couple silly young kids from Faultline, and a renegade Rikti to stop them. And just when you think you've won, BAM, Nemesis shows up. The real one. And there's only you (and maybe Jimmy; Fusionette and the Rikti are almost always down by now) between him and victory.

    That is epic.

That does make me feel better. Thanks for taking the time to come back and clarify.

I'm really not sure why some people consider it unreasonable for other players to expect the end game - the "stuff to do with your level 50 characters" - to resemble the rest of the game. Seriously, why is this unreasonable?

This isn't like just adding a few TFs and giving team players things to do on the side. This is shifting a 99% solo game into a 100% team game just because it's "end game".

I merely pointed out that "8" was not a "small group". I said nothing about whether the content should be balanced for groups smaller than 8 or not. Some of the issues between what's being delivered and what a subsection of the playerbase was hoping for might be explained by the fact that Developers consider "8 to 12" to be "not a big group".
  17. That doesn't address the issue of Notices of the Well. It is a good thing, but it does nothing at all to address the central concern - access to Notices of the Well and the Incarnate abilities locked behind acquiring them.

I consider those numbers big. From some of the other posts seen, I'm not alone here. "Not a big group" would be more along the lines of 2-4.

We call this the Turnstile around the studio, and all you need to do is open your LFG window, choose an Incarnate Trial, and join the queue.
Most MMOs I am aware of have this functionality. While it can be viewed as a good thing from the point of view of functionality - it is a useful system that makes finding a team easier - it doesn't really buy you points on the "something different" meter.

Has there been updates to this system since its implementation in the Praetorian events? Because quite frankly, the way you don't count the contribution of pets from ATs that have pets (and considering that one of those ATs is built expressly around the idea of "having pets") does not accurately reflect how much help these ATs provide to the effort.

You will need to experience the fights a few times to get a handle on the mechanics and figure out the best powers and the best strategies.
I really wish you would find some other model to follow. This is the model that makes me not play other MMOs. Is this really what people have been clamouring for?

    About That Accessibility Thing
For our more casual players, we have added an option for you to continue to build your way up the Incarnate Tree by collecting Incarnate Shards without doing any Incarnate Trials--you will even get Incarnate Shards when you are exemplared down.
This is very nice. This is a good addition. I'm very glad that I don't have to be entirely negative - this is a very, very good choice. It certainly removes some of the added pain of exemplaring that the Incarnate system introduced.

I hope you continue to look at how the Incarnate System interacts with the exemplar system in the future.

For the long term, the Incarnate Trials will be part of every Issue release, and the Incarnate Abilities will be expanded from time to time as well.
And after I just said something so nice, this idea that you're pushing out the Incarnate Trials as the end game, and that it will be the end game for the foreseeable future, really dashes a lot of my hopes. You've already outlined explicitly (finally quashing the rumours otherwise) that Incarnate Trials are not a "solo option" - indeed, they are now clearly much closer to what would be called a "raid" than anything else.

It's really sad that City of... has decided that "end game" here really does mean the same thing as any other MMO.

A tether isn't really a "tool" to be used. It's actually supposed to be an anti-exploit tool itself, and using it to make Recluse "easy" doesn't seem to be "good gaming". It's taking advantage of poor coding (if I were coding a tether, the tethered mob would clear all threat (and probably most other effects) when pulled back.)

    Scrapyarder Summoning.

Scrapyarder Foremen already have most of a summon set - attacks based around Super Strength and bottom-tier summons. Just need to add two more ranks (and we have Demolitionists for one of those ranks, probably the "Boss" pet; need some sort of passive buffer for the Lieutenant rank) and a pet-support power (too bad Gang War already exists, because that effect would probably be perfect.)

It is for me. Not that I think I could do an STF in an hour and a half (never done an STF. Don't really play blueside.) I don't think I've done a run of the LRSF in less than two hours ever (often, it's about at the 2:30 or 3 hour mark that we give up and go to bed.)
  25. All my 50s have unlocked the Alpha slot, though only three currently have anything slotted. Those three are a Brute and two Masterminds. The other 50s are a Tanker and a Corruptor.

As far as "support" goes, one MM is Traps, and both the Corruptor and the other Mastermind are Dark Miasma. Traps is not really a "support" support set, and Dark Miasma has no buffs that require other teammates. Big surprise from someone that mostly solos, right?

If you're seeing mostly Scrappers and Tankers, it's likely it's the solo crowd coming out to try to get their Notices.
