4 threads [not including this one] where its the same poster starting it 3 out of the 4 threads.
Surely you need at least a small group of players to do it before its "out there" -

Above is the link to the article where Massively states their wishes for 2012 for this game. Just for those interested -
Since our server is the least used server section on the forum with the only servers last post being at least 2 weeks ago!
Union needs to represent people! -
Bit of a late welcome to the game first
Villainside is a bit . . . . low population regardless of server you are on sadly [Freedom/Virtue maybe only exceptions here].
The old EU servers [english speaking] are Union and Defiant. I myself use Union as my home server, however one of the general rules of both servers is to join their global channels for teams/chats/taskforces etc.
I'll let somebody from Defiant state their global channels but for Union it is Union Chat, Sals Badgehunters and Union Taskforce. When the dev team do competitions for the EU they tend to do it roughly 7pm GMT. Other than that it is the community which do the competitions on a server basis.
For example i myself sometimes hold a quiz on the channel Union Chat while others do costume competitions or maybe a pvp event.
While i find that early morning is a bit quiet on all servers, from lunchtime onwards i much prefer Union to the old NA ones simply because there is a higher active number of players.
You cannot transfer a supergroup over either sadlyIf you do pick union feel free to ask anything on Union Chat as the channel is always full of somebody willing to help/general chat [beware of the channel after 9pm though!!!
]
Edit to add Union weekly events:
Usually daily trials from 6pm onwards.
Friday at 8pm = CoP Trial
Wednesday at 8pm = Mothership Raid
Those are the ones i can think of at such an early hour [coffee not woke me up yet].

Keeping toggles on against enemies that is useless on the current mission im on. For example having my energy def toggle on while facing something like the warriors . . . . .

Just curious but whats the most updates [like our issues] that a MMO has had? Just wonder how close we are to the top
-
Quote:The fact that the giant robot they've GOT isnt a GM is one of the games biggest failures ever.
Nobody here has mentioned the two GMs wandering about Croatoa (and the third non-GM). I think they add a bit of color to the zone that a Striga/Faultline/Hollows lacks. Striga should have had a giant robot striding across it from day 1.
Should code it like the LGTF, half way through the zones taskforce and you spawn the giant robot within the zone.
I do love sally thoughPurely for moments like another thread said about somebody powering up to the max to face her the first time they saw her

Quote:Theres . . . . not going to be an issue 25?
Second, after Issue 22 Z announced they'll be doing Issue 23 and possibly Issue 24. (Yes, the whole talk was silly things like this). -
Quote:Ah see here im the complete opposite. I love collecting temp powers, to the degree that i collect a temp power and [if it'ld take quite a lot of work to get it back again] dont use them.
Personally, I see temporary powers as a gimmick that I'd rather not be saddled with. They take up tray space, consume inordinate amounts of endurance and just make me jump through hoops. Granted, none of those in Croatoa are all that bad... For the simple reason that I can take them out of my trays as soon as they drop and the missions remain winnable quite easily, but that's tolerance, not approval. It's a lot like the Rikti War Zone where you're forced to babysit an NPC ally nearly every mission.
Just one of those things, like badges though i aint a badger, that i like to do on here -
Must agree that i do love that zone and the xp is great too so its always used by my alts to level in
That being said i think the best zones with arcs in them are . . . . .
- Faultline
- Croatoa
- Hollows
- Striga [we dont seem to actually progress that much in this zone]
For example with Faultline you have captured/defeated the 3 main villains causing havoc there in one final epic fight.
In croatoa you have stopped the zone being destroyed in one cool final battle of survival.
In hollows [if you include the trial which i do] you actually get clues throughout the zone/arcs leading up to the trial in which you face a giant monster. Still not quite sure whats so important about this young lad except he can understand their language but hey! -

Ah Mr Z . . . . we've been expecting you

- People complain that arcs dont involve their character enough.
- People complain that when in a team, the rest of the team can't see the contact text thus not understanding the purpose of the mission.
- People complain about walls of texts explaining the situation inside a mission.
- People complain that the content is too easy.
- People complain that the content is too hard.
- People complain about the lack of post 20 Praetoria related content.
- People complain about having content post 20 related to Praetoria.
- People will complain that the solo option in revamped DA is too hard.
- People will complain that the solo option is too grindy.
- People will complain about the difficulty of DA.
- People will complain about the change in the "feel" of the zone.
- People will complain about certain holes in the lore that the new content will miss.
- People will complain about the rewards in the new DA.
- People will complain non-stop for months about the new trial with next to no actual experience of it.
[Personally i love all the new content, yes this includes first ward and the low level arcs. They're good xp, they keep things interesting and they try and focus the arc on you for a change. If you dont like the content then valid reasons are to be had instead of just saying you hate it without saying actually why.
Why do you people not like the new low level content? Is it the characters involved? Is it all the travelling you must do? Is it the fact that its designed as a tutorial arc and not a "save the world" arc?]
Quote:Teammates do not get merit rewards anywhere for completing an arc with you. Dont see this changing as its open to abuse far too easy.So you make me fight harder foes and give me less reward? A really winning combination there. You also don't give teammates any merits?
As with all content, the enemies are only difficult to certain powersets/ATs. My brutes/scrappers/corruptor strolls through FW with ease, my dominator on the other hand? Struggled. You shouldnt expect every content release to be "easy". -
*giggles* People being suprised that the ski chalet closed today
Not like they told us or anything is it
Got a bronze on the ski slope and that'll do me this year. Now give me i22! -
Just curious but why was it such a bad idea to have it as part of the LFG? I thought it was much better, also was run much more often than previous years due to people being able to just organise it whenever they felt like and take their time.
No more "quick we only have 15 minutes to get there!", hope they add all future mini events to the LFG tab like this one and the halloween one, much better imo! -
Quote:That's sad, but I have the feeling that my home server of Exalted will be joining you. We've been running weekly Hamidon raids almost since the server opened, but all but three of the experienced raid crew have already canceled their City of Heroes subscriptions for a galaxy far, far away. We tried to get our regularly scheduled Hamidon raid going last night, but only about 15 people showed up, and most of those were inexperienced meleers...
The actual raid itself is pretty easy, the only problem is getting enough people together quick enough to warrant such a small reward. Yes the enhancement/badge/merits used to be enough, but for such a large scale raid there should be more.
I'ld even go as far as saying that defeating the raid would grant everybody the league a new hamidon salvage that could be downgraded to 4 emps [or something along those lines]. -
Congrats!
You've now done 100% more than union in the last 10 months at least!
-
I love the inspirations of this game [the power inner inspiration is one of my most used temps] simply because if you are indeed in a fight that should be too tough for you, inspirations can fill that gaping hole in your character and give you a fighting chance.
I'ld still love for there to be a +recharge inspiration [would have to be a rare one though] that cannot stack [like the Ultimate inspiration] with say a temp rech buff of 30% or so. -
[The only zones i'll mention are from the CoH Universe]
These are the zones which i'ld keep . . . . . .
- Atlas
- Reduce skyway city/kings row and combine the two
- Steel Canyon [needs more story there though for it to stay]
- Talos Island
- Striga Island
- Croatoa
- Brickstown
- Independence Port needs to be cut in half
- Terra Volta
- The Hollows
- Sirens Call
- Rikti War Zone
- Eden
- The Tunnels
- Perigine Island
- Cimerora
- Ouroboros
Zones like the hive/boom have a lot of potential, but without anything to do in them of worthy note [Hami hasnt been done on my server more than twice in the last year] they're just dead zones. -
Yes with some after effects!
You might have got rid of the hellions in the area, but that means there are now more in X area! Also with the hellions weakened it gives the way for the skulls to make their move on the hellions
-
Happy new year!
My resolution? Work out a little everyday again, get rid of my belly that somehow appeared in the last year and get fit again
2011 - The year of the fat
2012 - The year of the muscle! -
Quote:Well the family do just that in that newish lvl 20 - 30 talos arc
I mean, the mob just doesn't walk into police precincts and shoot up the place as standard operating procedure. [name escapes me]

Quote:Fair enough, but the ability to do that now hasn't done much to lower prices. Not everyone grinds merits, so the market remains their avenue. It remains my only concern with adding more purples without adjusting drop rates.
Same here, personally i wish that once you reach level 50 that purples work the same way as shards do and can drop at any level when you exemp down.
