  1. I am playing a new tank, Dark/Electric named Stormclouds, so far (he is sitting at level 9), the build is fun and feels pretty strong. So I am curious, I searched a bit and didn't find any posts about this combo. So I am hoping maybe someone has played this particular combo to get some ideas at how well this particular breed plays. Appreciate any input, not looking for a build but more along the lines of what I need to dread or look forward to, and how would it compare to say a Dark/fire.

    AR/DEV. Why Not?

    The reason, I made an AR/DEV. was because of an old game KoR. The character, I played made heavy use of mines, in fact several stages of the game I had to use mines to win (there is something funny about a cut scene where a bad guy is threatening you and in the background you can see your mines and the bubbles showing their triggering radius all overlapping on him). So for theme reasons, I love him, and for soloing he can't be beat.
  4. I think, I fell in love tanking was when I was leveling up an Ice/fire tank, and waded into a swarm of Council after the team of 8 had finished them off..The defender on the team said "How the hell did you survive that??!!???" The blaster on the team answered simply.."Because he is a tank."
  5. I have created an ice/storm. So far only level 21 and I have been pleasantly surprised to find out is how well he survives in melee artic air is great and have saved tanks by jumping next to them in large fights. So I have been trying to figure out ways to increase his damage so he is abit more soloable. I have slotted the single target immbolize (chillblain I think its called) and have taken Air sup. Other than that is there anyother suggestions for increasing damage, before level 32 or so?

Well if you have your heart set on playing a petless troller you could try mind/ff..decent single target levitate you are using your force field powers to lift them up...etc... heck confuse could be explained as you are using your powers to deflect their attacks on each other..telekinesis (requires some practice to get good with).....just use the pool powers for your invis concept

    Rad Emission

    I love dark as a secondary the negetive to hit debuff stacks nicly with RI and when you get TT at level 15 (I think) it becomes a lot easier to lock down the mobs around your anchor. Oh as for being not as good versus AVs? Lingering Rad. gets rid of that pesky thing called Regen. ask a lot of the folks around here how handy that is.

  12. I have never been on an all controller team but will get on or build DefCon teams all the time. It is like building a circle of death around huge groups of mobs, hurricanes clump them defenders using their secondaries to arrest.
  13. I have a level 31 dark/axe tank, and with a few IO bonus's CoD, CJ, and weave I am running about 20 percent defense versus Melee, now CoD and weave are not fully slotted up yet. All that being said I have found just that bit of defense has made a huge difference to his surviability. That has made CoD worth it, and when it gets slotted up even more so (hush about defense debuff attacks its my happy little world)
  14. As Sarrate said if you are wanting to hunt certain enemy types, then it is worth it. One of the reasons I am currently leveling up an electric tank is I enjoy making clowns cry, the carnies are one of my favorite villian groups. IMHO the carnies have some of the toughest regular bosses in the game. Otherwise if you can get it without seriously trading off for it then go for it.

    Thanks, I was wondering if I should build it like my fire/fire. It seems almost as if someone looked at the old fire armor set and patched up the holes in it and took away the offensive edge.

    Well I have gotten this tank up to 33 (altisis can be such a fun delay of leveling) and have found out with the electric armor tough is almost a have to have power. Now I am wondering as I am starting to collect sets, and wondering if I should go for defensive bonus, or recharge bonuses. I mean defense is good for creating a layering effect. However recharge gets energize up faster and of course increases the amount of damage put out (a mob arrested can't hurt ya).
  17. Got lucky and got tonight off so wife and I both rolled new fire tanks. Just want to make sure got the info straight...Justice server, KR by the IP gate, at 8pm CST? Looking forward to the 4th Tuesday on Triumph thats our home server.

    Well, now I have the tank up to level 27 and does powersink rock! I almost like it better than Energy absorption on my ice/fire tank. I have a question and it is in regards to Lightning field, is it best to slot it for damage, or endurance sapping, or go for franken slotting it.

    Well thanks to altitis, I just have gotten my elec./fire up to 20. I have found a question, does the endurance reduction of energize stack on a power if said power has ER enhancements in it?

    I have just started a new tank over on Triumph. I thourghly enjoyed leveling up my fire/fire tank and after leveling up an ice/fire decided to see how an electric tank would fare. I have her at level 13ish and so far not too bad. Doing a lot of clockwork missions (the maxed out energy protection, and endurance drain protection is very nice). So I am curious has anyone else out there made this combo? What would be good choices of powers (mainly from the electric side) I am pretty familiar with fire melee.

I like sonic/fire, sonic has some great mitigation with the cone sleep which helps make up for the lack of mitigation in fire (well at least not until really late in the set) Fire has some awesome AOEs ie (FSC, Combustion, HF etc.) which helps with the lack in sonic and sonic debuffs really is sick and wrong when tied to the damage output fire manipulation can dish out

    Burn/Ice Patch

    Well, I have found my fire/ice to be an absolute monster on huge numbers, but only solo. On a team he tends to be okay, mainly because he is sorta of old school herd and burn and most teams tend towards faster steamroller play. So needless to say I love the new difficulty settings in I16. I do find quicksand to be very helpful, it helps to keep the mob in fire's aura as well.
