  1. May all your cakes be delicious and moist, and access to them free from interference by psychotic computers.
  2. I currently have a BS/Regen, a DB/WP and an MA/Regen.

Of those, the Regens are the most reliable to play - and MA/Regen has the kind of entertaining moves and variety of effects that make it very appealing.

BS/Regen, however, with a few Recharges in there, can unleash the kind of ALMIGHTY EVIL-CRUSHING DAMAGE that's hard to top.
  3. They'll get me out of this game when the last server shuts down, dammit, kicking and screaming like an angry, hungry baby.

    NCSoft Q3 Report

We are in the middle of a recession, kids. I did stray to WAR for the initial month, but took one look at their subscription plan and decided I might need to buy things for Christmas. And keep my car going. Oh, and eat, for that matter.

There HAS been more marketing activity last couple months - but one word to the nice marketing lady: you're advertising a comic-book game with a monthly sub. ABC1 nerds don't read the Sun that much. You want nerds with money, you want the Independent or the Metro (and they're always begging for compy prizes).
  6. I've come back to my Broadsword/Regen - apart from fitting in nicely in Cimerora, I love the solid "thwock" sound upon unleashing a Headsplitter. It's also a very good toon for early morning/late night gaming when there are few people around, since she can happily chew through Invincible minions, LTs and Bosses without assistance solo or in small groups. Larger groups tend to need a good stock of purples and the occasional wakey...

    I14 ideas?

    For me:
Vehicles (with fins). I don't know why I want them given all the travel powers, but I still don't feel complete without a DreamerScreamer.

Utility Pistols (Dual Pistols, but with the variable ice/fire/explosive ammo types used by Malta Gunslingers, plus electric, noxious gas and other options)

Grapple Gun travel power set (it's not webslinging, honest. It's a grapple gun. Really.)

    Shield Police

If you need a Def to take care of you, can I join as a CSI?
  9. If Sister Psyche is more than a 10-second cameo by Anna Faris, this movie is going to suck SOOOO much.*

I love the idea of doing the Top Cow comic toons playing through the Rikti Invasion - focus on the mid-level guys rather than the superstars and bring in more of the in-game humour.

*this goes double if any gratuitous bathtub scenes are added.
  10. If we're gonna be dissecting people's playstyles, I want my proper headset mic and Telestrator so I can doodle all over the replay footage.

Meditate on this: we are all, in some way, in touch with our inner n00b.
  11. Cross-referencing this a la CSI with another thread, please remember that Wonder Woman has been in Development Hell with Joel Silver for over eight years now. Ten months is lightspeed in Hollyweird dev time.
  12. Actually... the CoH movie is more likely than Warcraft.

The rights were bought a year ago by producer Tom DeSanto (Transformers, X-Men, X-Men 2, NOT the third one) who liked the humour of the Top Cow ideas and the game scripts, the whole Supers vs Aliens core plot and the actually, they're really us subplot that entails. He even sees a bit of franchise potential (clicky).

Of course, talk's just talk, but this was backed up by $1m in cold hard greenbacks. They probably could have got more, but I bet Jack just wanted to say "One MILLLIION DOLLARS...muhahahah" in a meeting. 'Cause he's a nerd. But that's ok.

Rumours that Sister Psyche was the first person cast are also unconfirmed, but pretty damn likely.
  13. I for one welcome our new Merit overlords, as they'll encourage people to play through content together.

And if like me you rarely have time to play through a full Task Force, it's not as critical if you have to drop in and out. So you're gathering Merits all through the game.

Finally, you'll never spend between 1 and 6 hours on a TF any more to be rewarded with... a Fear or Taunt recipe *fume*

Couldn't you use him as a live loincloth? Like attach him to your belt by his ears or tail?

    [/ QUOTE ]

It would feel kinda perverse to actually use him as a piece of clothing around my funzone while he's still alive.

  15. Is it something about Lord Nemesis, by any chance?

It's a rubbish power and I'd love to see it changed for something useful such as, I dunno, Airstrike or something.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I love that idea Complete with a high pitched voice reminiscent of the Worms series! "Incoming!" *BOOM!* ... and so on

    [/ QUOTE ]

    No Donkey Bomb then?

Personally, Trip Mine(s) + TP Foe was a great way of dealing with just about anything, including naughty little Stalkers.
  17. Faultline seemed to be on the plaza between Mirror Spirit and the Pocket D entrance.

Never managed to get to any of the Haz Zones (FBZ???) in time, so think they were a bit of a waste. DA would have been pretty atmospheric...

The Halloween event is now completed. Paragon City and the Rogue Isles can now rest easy ... or can they?

I thought you worked for NCsoft, not Cryptic.

There'd be a muhahahahahahaha after that if it was Cryptic. Though I guess GR could start doing that if he got himself an audio sig...

  19. DW is currently taking a nice seaside vacation by the Med in Cimerora, which is unaffected.

The sunshine's great, but pasta technology won't be brought back from China for another fifteen centuries and bloody Visigoths keep putting their towels out before she gets up.
  20. - Defender Psi attacks doing half-decent damage.
    - No targeting limits on Nova/Inferno/etc (mass zombie cleanout)
    - Rock Blasters (controllable with Rock Band Gibson SG)
  21. [ QUOTE ]

Now, in my humble opinion it would be a bit pointless to implement such a feature if the Zombie Apocalypses by design were to be limited to running continuously during the Halloween Event, so am I right in thinking that it might indeed be possible to trigger a Zombie Apocalypse in a random zone even after the Halloween Event has ended ... ?

I don't know if you're allowed to tell, but I figure it can't hurt to ask.

Hmm, the legendary Dark Astoria TF perhaps...
  22. So long as he wasn't written into the game lore as a DEAD hero, but as part of a TF or something, I could spare Capt. Thunder.
  23. I'm happy with "fun" additions to the game being paid-for, since they:

    (a) give no competitive advantage
    (b) let the bourgeois overlords and fashion victims with more money than sense pay for the rest of us proles to have more free toys and blessings from Sexeh Jay.

Only one I've been mildly concerned about is the 30 Day jetpack, since that means you could have two extra powers on your build and never need a travel power. On the other hand, you'd have to keep on shelling out an extra couple of quid a month for the freebie.

Self Destruct is not a concern since it's a very situational power with a huge recharge time. Besides, post-Nova death being a normal part of the average blaster's attack chain, I hardly see the problem with letting other ATs share the experience

If ever they start flogging proper, regularly usable, and high-powered weapons, that would bug me. I do not want someone waving the Sword of a Thousand Truths and Shield Of Epic Fail +3 around that they've paid for. Do that and you're down to the level of the gold-seller/paid PL/Russell Brand scum, which isn't what we pay our licence fee for at all.
