    Day Jobs Over.

I was pretty suprised praetoria didnt offer any new day jobs, maybe the devs actually got the hint that the day jobs were a terrible idea?

To each their own, I suppose.

Thank you for keeping merit rewards high on TFs. =)

In all seriousness though, gratz on completing.

Having played 6 rads to and at 50 (Fire/Rad Troller, Ice/Rad Troller, AR/Rad Corr, 2 Rad/Psy Defenders, and a Rad/Ice Defender) I have never once needed Choking Cloud, even on my fire/rad troller where it would have been most optimal just wasn't necessary. Rad even without Cloud gives absolutely overwhelming amounts of survivability, if you're in a situation where you're relying on choking cloud to keep you alive, you're doing it wrong.

Furthermore, a rad doesn't need to be near their anchors as long as you are aware of what is anchored, what it is debuffing, and if the anchor is moving. They are /ranged/ toggles after all.

I'm not saying rad can't be played in melee, or that it is bad to be played melee. Infact it works great in melee as everything around your anchor gets super neutered. However as a rad/rad (since this is what this thread is about), specifically one building for ranged defense and not taking irradiate, there really is no reason to go into melee, unless you've got a kin on the team or something like that.

  9. There's really no reason to. 2 Weeks is a long time for not a whole lot of stuff to do.

Unless you're one of those candy cane farmers.

Ski Slopes on my server haven't even been competitve this year, *sighs*

Other than summons, the best environment for the power is the RSF, STF, or other encounters with multiple AVs.

Can't wait for Judgement and Interface slots. Could care less about getting a pet, I only run speed TFs and pets just die running thru everything =/

    What does Destiny do again?

OP: Yes, they still can be used to quickly build domination same way as always, although there is now Frenzy that pure villains can get that instantly refills your domination bar to 100% once every 6 minutes that has kinda made snipe spamming a little obsolete.

Accelerated metabolism is a bit underslotted. I would at least switch the third recharge for a recharge/end mod IO like a performance shifter.

Your survivability will skyrocket if you switch from Undermined Defenses defense debuffs to a good To-hit Debuff IO set. I like to six slot Radiation Infection for To-hit Debuff first and defense debuff as a minor focus for benefits from both.

Three Endurance reducers in enervating field is a bit overkill. I would use the third slot elsewhere.

The third slot in combat jumping for defense/endurance reduction is overkill. Combat jump uses 0.0325 end/per sec. The defense is 2.5%. I would use this slot elsewhere.

Acrobatics doesn't really need 2 slots of endurance reduction. The endurance cost is 0.26/sec. Enervating field is twice as much 0.52; Choking Cloud is a whopping 4.16!

Weave is 5% defense at an endurance cost of 0.1625/sec. I can see the use of the procs in Tough. In my own opinion, Fighting costs too many powers for too little. So what would I do with extra power selections? Your tier nine radiation emission power would love to go for a spin. Stacking choking cloud on an EM Pulse can do amazing things to spawns. You will hold as well as any controller.

Aim is a power I usually don't take on my Radiation Defenders. With just two slots for endurance reduction in Tactics, you get +perception for the nasty foes that use 'blind'.

Charged Armor could use another slot just for pure Resistance.

Power Sink is your end refill power. It needs more slots, too. I would make sure to get one accuracy in it and some endurance modification to go with some recharge.

Revisiting Choking Cloud, I would stick another slot in the sixth position for pure endurance reduction. The Ghost Widow set provides for increased maximum endurance, but despite that, I would put AT LEAST the Lockdown Hold Proc in Choking Cloud if not one of the Hold set damage proc IOs as well.

So the suggestions I made are impossible to implement all at once, not enough slots, but I wanted to show some options to increase the effectiveness. Good luck. Radiation Infection, Choking Cloud, and Power Sink are the more pressing issues.
Power Sink is auto hit, and with AM actually slotted for endmod he might not need it anymore than just once in a while, with an updated build 1 slot really should be fine. My rad/psi way back in the day wasn't slotted heavily for +end or +recov like Sant is and didn't have power sink or DC and didnt have any end issues either.

Slotting CJ with lotg defense can sometimes be useful as a way to get the last bits of defense on a build.

I personally wouldn't bother with choking cloud. You'd supposedly be playing the rad/rad from range, meaning the choking cloud wouldnt be in effect alot of the time and will still have that massive end cost. Better for things like Fire/Rads.

Aim is more for the +dmg, or hitting LR on things like Posi or Citadel when they hit their Godmode.
  15. I'd try something more like this. I got your ranged defense up a bit more and changed some other stuff here and there. You definitely want to proc out Neutrino Bolt, its like the only reason to make a rad blast defender. Skipping Irradiate makes me but seeing as you're going ranged defense... *shrug* you could kite it I guess. X Ray Beam is only there for set bonuses, Elec Fences and Cosmic Burst are better attacks, and Neutrino Bolt should be your main attack.

Either way this build isnt perfect, i literally spent like <5 mins making it, but maybe you can get some ideas from it.

    Ice/Cold Corr?

Get all the cold powers except Snow Storm. Frostworks is optional too.

With Ice get 3 ST blasts, aim, freeze ray, ice storm, and blizzard. BFR is skippable. Frost Breath is skippable.

Aid Self is great while leveling up, but is skippable with a strong build at lvl 50.

  19. Hmmmm I think my first SG was HoJ, I might have been with another group before that when I was still a noob and didnt even know what a SG was ;p Either way, yeah, Bravo Sierra invited me to HoJ way back when, I went on hiatus for a bit to play villain side and then came back a few months later and eventually became a leader.

Villain side I started out in the VG "The Pantheon of Evil" and eventually became the leader of that.
VG died out and I joined up with Rebal Assult Crew, and eventually became a leader of that.
Was also a part of Dark Revolution (cause of the RSFs) and Shadow of a falling hand (a friend's VG that I helped recruit people to), and House of Darkness for a short time,
Quit RAC due to drama, ran with a few other VGs for a while and eventually joined X's personal VG Chaos Faction. Same VG I've been in since.

After returning from Aion last August I created my personal SG, 'The Shinguard' and have stayed in there since, while occassionally helping out in HoJ. But in all senses of the word, I'm a TF freelancer.
  20. My first toon was a kat/sr scrapper named 'Master Assassin1' deleted at like lvl 4 cause I hated the 1 at the end of his name.
My 2nd toon was an energy/energy blaster named 'Power Overload' who became my 4th toon to lvl 50, long since deleted.
My 3rd toon was an emp/dark defender named 'Dryad' who got deleted around lvl 35.
My 4th toon was a ninja/dark MM named 'Dread Shinobi' and first lvl 50, became my namesake.
my 5th toon was a em/elec Brute named pantheon swat, became my 2nd lvl 50, and first pvp toon. Won my first pvp league on this toon with X's ice/storm by beating Neo's mind/ice dom and a fire/em blaster in a 2v2. Regretfully deleted.
my 6th toon was a fire/therm corr named 'Sage Overload' and 3rd 50. Became my main TFing toon and did daily RSFs with Dark Revolution over and over and over Deleted.
my 7th toon was a sonic/kin corr that I can't remember the name on, became my 5th toon to lvl 50. Deleted.

Yes, I actually remember all that from so long ago, and I don't have it written down anywhere. Yes, my toon names were HORRIBLE back then, lol. Oh, and none of them were PL'd back then, well maybe a few farms, and the 46-50 midding, but not really PL'd lol.

2-slotted Springfoot = 2% jumpspeed and 2% jumpheight. I slotted 5 of these, using sprint, combat jumping, and 3 of my prestige sprints (yes I actually slotted those ^_^ )

5-slotted Focused Smite = 3% run speed, jumpspeed and jumpheight. Cheap melee set. I slotted 3 sets.

2-slotted Kinetic Crash = 3% run speed. Knockback set, also cheap, I used this set too.

2-slotted Regen Tissue = 4% run speed. Since I'm regen I was able to slot 4 sets of these.

5-slotted Thunderstrike = 4% run speed, jumpspeed, jumpheight. Sort of cheap ranged damage set (it's a popular set though, despite being all common drops.)

Lots of things grant 5% run speed (and jumpspeed/jumpheight in some cases): 2-slotted Aegis (resist); 2-slotted Performance Shifter (endurance), 2-slotted Gaussian's Syncronized Fire-Control (to hit buff) just to name the easy ones I picked. These are not cheap sets, but you can buy the cheapest/least popular pieces from each set.

3-slotted Winter's Gift grants 6% run speed/jumpsped/jumpheight. Unfortunately the set includes a unique so you can only slot it once, in a travel power. You can get these cheap with candy canes at the moment.

Gift of the Ancients 7.5% run speed can be slotted in any defense-related power: Hover, Combat Jumping, Weave, Stealth, Invisibility, Grant Invisibility, Manuevers, Vengeance. You should be able to slot 5 of these. Not an especially cheap IO usually though.

I piled on a bunch of those IOs, turned on sprint and ninja run, and was able to get the gold medal slolom badge in just a few tries, where I failed consistently last year. ^_^
Fantastic waste of money, you can cap out runspeed with SOs only, and if you want really good times you should be a kin or have a kin friend casting IR for the movement control.
