Sonic Cage
Other than summons, the best environment for the power is the RSF, STF, or other encounters with multiple AVs.
One unexpected situation I have found it incredibly useful for though is Singularities. If I'm fighting Longbow or Family, and one of the bosses casts a Singy, I can cage it quick smart and not slow the team down at all. Its the perfect target - a tough, annoying, otherwise un-mezzable pet who dissappears with its owner.

Carnies' phantasms? The four pylons around Lord Recluse in the Statesman TF (cage the ones not currently being whacked on for great safety against LR). Any pets of dopplegangers would do, too, methinks. I think if you had too many of the four AVs active with Reichsman in the last room of the Khan/Cuda TF it could come in very handy, too.

HelinCarnate:OMG it is so terrible. I have the option to take 3 more powers but no additional slots. Boo F'ing hoo.
Can you cage a Nictus Essence in the ITF?

Yeah, I've heard that the Nictus eseences resist caging, which sucks hard for such a situational power.
Carnie Phantasms do stick around after their parent Illusionist goes down, and I don't think have a lifespan even. Caging the Phantasm's decoys would be nice (often the last enemy standing), but i doubt it would work since they're untouchable anyway.
I put 3 Endoplasms in my Sonic Cage and never managed to cage the healing Essence, even in +0 (which makes me sad because it was the main reason I took this power). In a RSF I could cage a +0 Statesman, the team would certainly have steamrolled without that but now I know I can use it during another RSF. A lvl 54 Bobcat resisted my caging in the Tin Mage TF (I thought I could use it to take down Neuron without harming her and get the Kitty's Got Claws badge more easily, but it was not possible... we got the badge nevertheless). I think caging one of the Goliath War Walkers while the team was killing the other helped a little.
Great suggestions by the way I never thought of caging annoying pets.
I picked up Sonic Cage in my free-Stamina respec, and have generally found it to be as much of a pain as I always imagined.

Any other similar NPC pets where it's this handy? Dark Servant on Carnie Illusionists are the only other one I can think of off the top of my head.
