Just finished a late-EU stab at the new event. Avatea explained what we needed to do during the first attempt and with that knowledge for the second attempt we were a successful 8-man group.
Didn't have any issues regarding the badges personally and a few of the enemies appeared to be buggy at first - e.g. not rushing at the banners, standing around - but I think that only happened for one banner during the first attempt, the second attempt we didn't have that issue. As for the health of the Banner, our group was able to defeat them all with just under a minute to spare, kinda hurried us along.
The special enemies for the banners all started converging on the GM (again Avatea pointed that out) and I followed one set straight to the GM, so not that bad a hunt really.
Really loved the artwork for the new groups and the Banner of.. objects too. Cannae wait for it go Live. -
I can't say my Fire/Psi, Ice/Ice, Plant/Ice or Earth/Fire's end bars have radically changed since the increaed. None of them have Perma Dom, but /Psi and /Fire both have End gaining powers.
How many toggles are you running? Hot Feet can be a pain by itself let alone with power pools. -

The evidence actually supports opposite of your assertion - comic book tradition is actually one of multiple heroes having the same name. Sure, each one has had its own conflicts, individuality, and sometimes costumes, but that is what made their stories worth telling.
Jean-Paul Valley - took over the mantle from Bruce while he had a broken back. One Batman.
Terry McGinnis - took the over mantle Batman while Bruce is a crotchety old man. One Batman.
Dick Grayson - has taken over now that Bruce Wayne is, for all intents and purposes, dead. Okay so there were multiple Batmen, but heck it was the Battle for the Cowl.
So if you're willing to paralyze, kill or let your Johnny Velocity grow old with dignity and a bum knee, send out the tells and we'll roll a spunky new Johnny Velocity in Outbreak as soon as you shelve him and fighting for roll, first one to 100 Contaminated wins.
As for the Batgirls they are all currently under different names: Flamebird, Oracle, Huntress, Cassandra Cain and Misfit and The Spoiler has gone and become the new Batgirl. So in the end you have persons taking up a single role and then taking up a different name entirely once someone else wants a go, so shall we play pass the name on a bi-monthly basis?
Could really try this all day, Green Lanterns are all numbered, we can already do that; see PONY-01, PONY-02. Scarecrows in DC and Marvel? Isn't that like two wholly different universes, kinda like servers.
But lets not stay with the examples, the Supergirls, Superboys and Supermen! Sure they're lots of them, but you have them actually distinguished by the people as Power-Girl, Matrix, Cir-El (wiped from the continuity!) and Kara Zor-El, Kon-El, Superboy-Prime, Ultraman, the Reign of Supermen arc with Cyborg Superman aka The Cyborg (not to be confused with Cyborg, small difference), Eradicator & Steel.
So, no, the opposite isn't true. The opposite is more confusing. They allow multiple persons to take a role for when the story suits it, allowing multiple name instances because the story requires it and allowing Hugo Strange to be the Batman because he really-really-really-really wants it.

Been a while since I peaked in on this, some fantastic work going on the the Cuties.

The name? It was very late and I was working on the long background history of a story, nothing even related to the current events, just some myth that'd be involved later. I needed a name that had 'dark' qualities to it, but Drak sounded too vampiric and too short, so I started sounding out some endings with it and settled with Drakmarth. A later irony is that everyone ingame, friends and randoms, seems to call me Drak and its become a nickname for the character himself.
When I got City of Heroes & Villains a few years ago, I decided it'd be fun to reuse the characters I'd already created and 'see' them, oddly enough the characters of the story's present fell to the wayside and the three historical characters, Drakmarth being the most prevalent - the Sun of my entire character universe.
And as such a massive force, my real name has no meaning on the Internet anymore, Drakmarth is the name I use from my PS3\360\PSP\DS to the Global account of another MMO, all because if its named Drakmarth, its gotta be me. Seriously even google agrees! (Inc. any references to Dingo Jett, a jokey name I used some places. But minus the youtube videos featuring DraK playing as Marth in Super Smash Bros.)
Anyway, moral of the story kids: Watch what you do late at night, one day you're coming up with a mythologic lesson of two brothers at odds and the destruction they reap in an effort to stop one another to relate to the present and the next thing you know the brothers are ripping up a digital city in some MMO and now spawned an army of tied in characters to fill your imaginative mind with stories and tales and woe. -

I personally find the fact I can't have certain names more of a challenge for me in the creation process. There has been only a handful of times in my (near) 4 years that I've had a name I wanted not available, but I found alternatives and I've actually ended liking them more than my original concept.
Of course this is down to my experience only and my rather disturbing Angelo-Germanic-French-Latin-Mythological-Demonological-Whacky naming conventions.
I admit I do find it disheartending still to see folks that find the name Star is taken and decide to take xXxStarxXx instead of finding a synonym or in some cases just affixing a title, e.g. Lord Star, Lady Star, Marquis Star, etc. But again, that would be a preference of mine..sure you're Star, but dammit I'm the Arch-Duchess Star! pewpewpew...
Okay a bit over the top, but sometimes the smallest change helps me form an even better story and character. In a lot of cases the background of a name that means nothing to anyone but me and some linguistic-etymologist nerdlinger that spies my name flying overhead in St. Martial.
On the case of Champions and not seeing the same name twice - I've seen the same name plenty of times and not just Steel Man or HOLK or Ultraman, one name that stands out is Nocturna, namely because I saw it on three people during the space a few hours, one in tutorial, one in the Desert Crisis and one in the Desert regular, totally different people and just plain kooky to boot! -
Just viewed a video regarding Earth Assault, the 2.1 sec animation time (from Detailed Info) does not compute as I saw the usual *STOMP* and the spear appears instantly.

Not any more.
The PvP mob cried foul about it long enough and hard enough on the US boards, so they took that aspect of Powerboost away. Which was an annoyance on my Fire/FF/Primal controller, as a Powerboosted Force Bolt was always good for a laugh when you could punt mobs beyond line of sight

Thought so, hence the ?, an old PB Grav Lift used to tear the pants of anything. I could only imagine what it would have done with a set that has KB\D\U occur in almost every power.
Shame the Info text still says Knockback, even if the actual numbers section does not. -
I'll certainly give it a spin, but I'm feeling downhearted about the set on paper.
A lot of folk going Earth\Earth are gonna be in for a lot of stomping so best wear your toughest shoes, unless they change the Stone Spears from the CoT Earth Caster version to another animation.
I hope the 2.1 sec animation is in err and left over from porting numbers from the info for CoT's version because that'd make it an eternity to build an attack chain in the early going. Apparently it'll be doing a chance of KnockUp as well making the whole set the bounciest I've ever seen.

Okay that's a bit extreme, but that Tailor\Character Select bug is going to affect all those new costume changes and AE. -
Indeed, appreciated if Avatea can shed some light on the situation from the Dev-side. If it has a gaping big hole in it then fine, it needs fixing, I just wanna know if I have to change my story til it is fixed or not bother because it is likely to come back soonish.

Wait..does this mean my published arc won't work? Because its kinda important to the plot, like very because people left me feedback it really sets the tone. And I've yet to hear people having an issue with it or find an issue myself. Though I didn't use any spawn points for glowies.
Shame about the Burning Forest, I had some plans for that as well. But if its broke it needs fixing. -

Tar Patch + Jounin slicing/dicing -Res should stack together yes. At least it appears to on my Thugs/Traps.
From what I gather the pets will only apply once despite the various -Def moves they have, but they can extend that one application so you have longer lasting -Res. -
What are you guys talking about? I can't see a dang cossie behind that tall white haired gentleman with the tattered cape and cyborg limbs.

Unfortunately at this time you can't control your critters all that well, especially with downgrading involved.
Example, I tested a custom group with the EB Blade Prince Behemoth and made a map to see the effect. I had a see of Blue Behemoths with EB status waiting to eat me alive. It just sees what you have and runs with it.
Unfoetunately you can't tell it to only ever spawn 1 of X, 2 of Y and 0 of Z at this point. So when an 8-man team attacks your supposed-to-be 5-man group, they are met with an 8-man Spawn. -
