Finally got a page up for Basilisk. I'm pretty happy with it.. should have a picture or two incoming tomorrow.
I'm loving the character.. never taken a Hero up so high before now. -
Thanks BaB! I always thought it would be a good idea to have this all in one thread, so that newer players dont have to search around the forums to try and find a relevant post!

On a side note, I would like to thank all the developers and gm's for making this a fun Halloween event. It has kept me entertained.

Hear hear! I agree totally.
I had a great time GM's, and most players did too! I especially loved this years costumes.
Next year, give us Vampires, Werewolves and ghosts please? They're much more halloween-esque! -
I wish there was a Warwolf and Vampire costume
They would have been the perfect thing for Haloween..
Then again, I would have been terribly dissapointed to lose the werewolf costume with my Warwolf character on Virtue. -

That just made my day.. my dog is looking at me funny as I laugh out loud.
Then again, I think my dog just wants to huff a kitten. -

I love the wings, but I still want my new monsterous head options I keep posting in the costume want threads
Cant keep everyone totally happy though I guess! -
Wierd.. why do Legacy Chain (Mages) drop tech only?
-
Hey Cricket, nice to see you popping in!
Good to hear you're doing well. Make sure to get Cuppa a Kill Skuls t-shirt too! -

When we sat down to design CoH, we wrote on the white board: "fun." Seems obvious, but many games seemed to miss the mark. That's OK; some games don't need to be fun in order to be successful (I won't name them, but they're out there). We wanted to make a game that had fun moment to moment gameplay. Hard to quantify, but easy to identify when you find it.
Cool posts, BTW.

hehehe, thats an awesome quote.. and so true!
We all know the games you are talking about
No I didnt read all the thread.. this quote just got me laughing for a bit.
Anyway. The thing that keeps me coming back to CoX is the fun factor, and the fact I adore comic books and superheroes. (despite how most my played characters are on villain side, i dont count them as villains story/char concept wise, The CoV game and AT's are just much more fun and i make up my own story as I go along, i dont pay attention to the 'time to be a bad guy' things thrown at me.). I make my characters to my own concepts and write their stories. Other games dont let me do that.. despite the horribly limited bio space, I just adore this option.
Anyway. The games mentioned.. especially one created by a certain cold-snow-wind themed company. Well, I found them all to be 50% hype, 45% 'in thing/peer pressure' and 5% content/fun. Seriously, It astounds me as to their popularity. -
Just as a point.
None of these are actually good enough to be power choices.
however!
They would make GREAT story arc rewards that you could choose to do for your Hero.
Think.. each starting hero / villain has a contact in their starting town. Like. hroes in Atlas hall, or Villains on the isle. These contacts cannot be outleveled, so established characters can still benefit from them.. Anyway, this guy or girl is the person who unlocks your background story arc.
You either tell this reporter your History, or it is some kind of computer you 'write' your history in to, or a Historian who's like a 'fan' who talks to you about your history. These missions should probably be solo only.
Anyway.. you have an option when talking to him. Something like
Hey [name]! I'm a big fan of yours. A reporter like me does some digging, and I want to publish a book on hero/villain History! I remember the time you.. (options)
[rogue] Lived rough on the streets, living by your wits
[science] Studied at College, learning science.
etc. You choose the option and then it takes you to te first in a series of missions based on your selection. Like.. Science could start with you going about in a lab clicking glowies, and then an 'accident' happens and you get your powers, and you fight off i dunno.. folk raiding the lab or whatever. or a rogue starts on the street and gets in brawls with hellins.. anyway, more thought would go into those, but they would make awesome story arcs, and a way to start off your character by doing your first levels with it if you want!
Anyway, just random thoughts off me. -
hahahahahaha! Thats so true! 'you did x bajillion things, but got a teeny bit too much xp and are now level 13 and its a mere trifle for you.. time to move on' 'but.. we really want to.. we did all this..!'
etc.. haha, after doing a story arc and having it cut off right before a badge mission yesterday i can relate so much ;_;
These are really awesome.. keep it up -
Take care Cuppa, it was always a pleasure having you here. I wish you all the best in the future.
