I'm sorry, but playing ANY game (in the grand scheme of life) is "an utter waste of time". The reason to play any game is to have fun! If that means it is going to end soon, so be it. I plan on having FUN until the plug is pulled. Treat this game as a single player with a finite end; guaranteed it can still be enjoyable. Hopefully it can be rescued.
  2. This was the thread I was looking for.

My question is once you apply one of these retail codes (which I just did; The Good vs Evil edition), how long will the VIP status last? Will it be until the game ends, or for only 30 days? Does anyone know?

    Thanks.

On the odd occasion that power is still not restored a petition to support will correct the issue pretty quick.
    Good to know. Thanks.

    Base Bugs in I21

Well, ask and you receive (I think). My base is now working. I got a reply from NCsoft Support, but they said they were escalating the issue. Just went in and now my base is working. Don't know if it was coincidence or if they did something. Regardless it's working now (except for the emblem issue that we all have been discussing).

Let's hope they fix the emblem issue soon.

    Base Bugs in I21

Well I just submitted a support petition, and then I stumbled on this post. Have the same issue with the Biohazard emblem, but my real issue (which I couldn't find anywhere in this thread) is my base in non-functioning. I can enter it, the upkeep is paid up, but it states that I have no power or control. Anyone else have this issue, or know a way to fix this?

Like I said, I submitted a petition, but after reading this thread, I don't have much hope that the devs will get back to me.

This only affected my base on Protector, and not my base on Liberty.

    Thanks.

Thanks for the response. Tried that already. Yeah, going into Neutropolis I had 16 out of 19 badges. I got the one at the western part of the map no problem; it's just those 2. I found a link on another post that said something about getting credit for the badge at the problem area first listed in this thread. I'm going to go back there tonight and see if I get the badge.

I always have my badge window open at that location (and the others when I do the River Rat badge). That bridge in Nova is the only one I've had trouble with since they activated the Nova river locations.
I can't find these last 2 at those bridges!!! I swam everywhere around them and went on the bridges as well. These aer the last 2 I need. Any other ideas?
  8. OK, so I'm on my way to a resolution (finally).

I found the answer in this post:

    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...=219525&page=2

The solution was posted by British Battler which he received from NCSOFT support.

I can play the game now with no mouse or keyboard delay.

I'm not too keen on having all of my services disabled, so I'm going to do step by step trial and error to discover what process is actually causing this problem.

I'll try to report my findings.

Thanks to all who responded to my inquiries.

And the fact that there wasn't an issue before only proves that there wasn't an issue before. If you haven't tried the suggestion, I would suggest that you try it.

There are a lot of things going on in I17 and its subsequent updates. Sometimes stuff that played together nice in the past will not do so now. People often turn off their anti-virus software while gaming, to gain just that little bit of extra cpu and memory. If you are not doing anything else except running the game, you should be fairly safe turning off the security package while gaming.

    Thanks for the response.

Alas, that didn't fix the problem either. Oh well

Edit: Whoops just read the following posts, uninstalling Live Essentials was still worth a try ; regardless, all of these suggestions are not working for me (even the sound card disable trick)

The cure is to allow CoH (or something similar).
I'm not using Microsoft Security Essentials, but I do have Windows Live Essentials installed (which can be quickly uninstalled).

Like I stated before, never an issue prior to this update.

    Thanks for the reply/suggestion though.

I had to do this after i17 for my cursor to work properly.
Thanks for the tip, Kioshi. Now I can see my mouse cursor, but I also see what the real problem is: slow response time. My mouse moves at a snail's pace, it takes several mouse clicks to activate any of the menus. Also, when using the arrow keys to move my character, there is a hesitancy and when I'm done pressing there is still movement.

This starts immediately at the first log on screen (where you input your account information). I have all settings turned down to the minimum, and this replicates in Safe Mode & Windowed Mode. It appears that with this issue, more resources are being utilized on my laptop (memory/cpu usage).

Not sure if there is a fix for this; however I never had these issues at all with previous issues/updates.

Like I stated before, looks like I'll have to forego playing on the road. Pretty disappointing .

Maybe a future patch will rectifiy this issue, however with Going Rogue coming out soon, I can't see the developers trying to support older hardware.

    Thanks again.
  12. Thanks for the feedback. The drivers are up to date; I ran the Intel Driver Update utility, and there was in fact an update for the integrated driver, however it did not make a difference. I had done this before I posted.

As for the free space on the drives; this has never been as issue in the past. The drives have been at these capacities for years and has never been a problem playing the game. It's more of a graphical problem, that replicates even in safe mode. The mouse blinks and doesn't want to stay solid so I can see where it is.

I can't play the game this way. It's unfortunate, as I travel a lot and like to play the game on the road. Guess I may just have to stick to playing at home.

I'm going to double check that other intel link that was posted and see if I can find any help.

    Thanks again.
  13. I'm having more of a performance issue with the mouse cursor blinking and disappearing altogether. All drivers are up to date as well as windows updates.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I was able to run CoX fine on my laptop prior to I17

  14. I'm currently having this issue as well. Been away since last October. Guess I better file a support request.
  15. After reading several replies, I have to add my 2 cents (which has pretty much already been said).

It really is no big deal starting your own PUGs! I have no problem getting a PUG together everynight, and getting replacements when people log. It usually takes me under 10 minutes to build a full team. I just check out the search, find the level range I want (which is even moot now), and send tells (like "interested in mish team?"). More so than not I get replies, with people joining me. The biggest pet peeve I have is when I don't get a reply at all. All I ask is a polite "no thx", which I thank in return and move on. It's just courtesy. I also never try to bug anyone who has specifically stated they are not looking for any kind of team.

It's a great way to meet new players(vets and noobs alike), and if things go well I ask for a global friend request to ease the search in the future.

I will admit that sometimes it's tough to build a well-balanced group, but even then, with more people, it's more fun, and you can come up with creative strategies to win the mish. The name of the game, for me, is fun, socialization, and variety. I don't care about farming or powerleveling. Debt? Big deal! As many have said on these boards: "The journey is more fullfilling than the destination!"

Like I said, just my 2 cents. Thanks.
  16. Donoman99

    no debt

Thanks Armsman, I totally forgot about that feature. That is exactly what is going on.

    Thanks again!
  17. Thanks for that, zoom. I wasn't aware of that, even though it really has never been a big deal for me to reinstall.
  18. Donoman99

    no debt

I know that this isn't probably a bad thing, however I've noticed since I've renewed BOTH of my accounts last month, that none of my toons are receiving any debt whatsoever when they are defeated.

I use the time cards to activate my accounts. They expired last December and I didn't renew till last month (as I've already stated). At first I thought it was something to do with the Anniversary month, but now we are into June and still no debt accrued.

I'm probably just uninformed about something, but thought I would post to see if anyone else is having this issue.

Please be kind if it's something stupid

    Thanks.
  19. I don't think it's possible, but I may not be 100%.

I've installed mine on various machines and I always have to go through the installation process, even if I copy the folders over.
