They could solve all these veteran debates and problems if we were just allowed to buy time in advance and receive vet badges for total paid subscription length instead of how much of the subscription has already transpired.
If I had the choice, I would instantly throw enough money at NCSoft to get me up to the 75 month vet badge, then continue paying my monthly fee from that point.
I've never understood why NCSOft aren't interested in me paying them free money or the equivalent of a lifetime subscription. $105 is on the counter right now, for my 7 missing vet badges - why won't you rob me already? -
Quote:Hey now don't you go getting that Master badge without the rest of the team, we're all booked up for doing that again Saturday 4pm!Doll how many times have we told you not to do that. Makes the server cry.
well even with the server crash and switching to a MoLGTF. I had fun. -
Okay it definitely wasn't me this time.
Unless running in circles in a Ghoul costume before a Mothership raid makes servers crash... -
Champion is going crazy. We were just about to start on the weekly Mothership Raid and suddenly the game turned into a slide show. Globals down, chat lag, movement lag and worst of all for a whole 10 minutes I never regained any endurance or HP, staying at 25% after rezzing form a death.
The lack of any regen told me the game was essentially dead and at some point we were all going to crash then the server would reset. If it's not recording progress on anything then you know there's a real problem and going to be a rollback to the point where things starting freaking out. -
Going AFK farming a badge, expecting to accumulate about 10 hours worth of progress while gone, then returning to find that 15 minutes after you left the servers went down for "daily" maintenance and you've made no progress at all
Rescuing an NPC who has 10 hit points and thinks attacking the nearest EB is a great idea. Mission Phalied!
Having my Xbox controller keybinds suddenly fail, leaving me paralysed!
Veteran Reward badges. The great equalizer, for old people.
On an unrelated note, it's remarkably easy to troll the GR Beta boards. In my defence I didn't submitted a traditional Epic Whine for I16 or 17, so one was due. -
Quote:At least he went down before Hami. It would have been even worse if Hami had died then the Tank keeled over from the DoT afterwards or outside the mish when he exited. We were very close, a few more seconds and or hitpoints <sigh> Oh well was a great team, see you all next week.
It was fine. I think Tanks have the right to be the first one to die on Master runs, seeing as they're acting as a shield for everyone else. -
Was about two hits from getting everyone out of the Hami mish alive.
I liked the guy who was tanking, he seemed nice even if he was only using SOs
Oh well. Next time maybe we should regroup after the blues before doing greens. The real shame I think is if we had been with Llew for the second run we would have got the badge since Llew wouldn't have gone down like the tank did.
Nevermind. See you next week -
Lily Cole?
Jubilee?
Preferably Harley Quinn but she is so busy all the time. -
Quote:Thanks!
Now the only one I've never seen is the Perfect Eye. I saw the One Book in person, and got my Master Thief badge taking down a regular one. -
"All Systems Go - The Launch" from Apollo 13 is a pretty good way to log into a new issue. I think I picked that one up around the time Ouroboros arrived and it fits in perfectly.

I have fond memories of the original CoP Trial. When it opened a few of my SG explored and realised we'd never be able to take it down alone.
We dropped form the SG and joined AoV for the day. I remember it was so awesome because lots of other random and well-known villains had done the same, so for a while AoV was like the "who's who" of Champion villainy. It was the first time I met Bronx and I remember being teamed with him plus other good AoV players, tasked with taking down one of the cubes.
We did our part but sadly the other teams didn't fare quite as well so the trial had to be abandoned.
The next day it was closed and only a couple of SGs had managed to grab an IoP.
I really hope they find a way to bring the models for the IoP items back into the game, in some form or another. Those objects looked great, or at least I remember them as looking great... -

Quote:You read it wrong. Not "down". It says DOOM!Server status page now says "Down" all over. Fingers crossed that means its fixed soon!
Champion - DOOM!
Freedom - DOOM!
Virtue - DOOM!
Pinnacle - DOOM!
Triumph - DOOM!
(Pinnacle has less doom since no one plays on it anyway...) -

Quote:Muahahaha...now NOBODY can play OUR game! OURS! Muahahaha...we have ruined it for everyone *high fives all round*Same issue as you all.
Girlfriend is logged in just fine and she's just seen a message that the servers are coming down for maintenance again, with the usual two hour window.
Hopefully it'll be more stable after that.
Yeah...I'm going insane from CoX deprivation... -
Think it's been 45 minutes since I first tried and failed to log in...
Time to mutter and rock back and forth in chair! Let the babbling commence! -
The servers aren't down, there are people in them playing right now. Today's maintenance just decided to delete the accounts of everyone the Devs don't like, so we can't log in anymore. That's all.
If we want a fast response we need to figure out a way to turn this into an exploit. We need to pretend that we can dupe our logins and get two copies of our characters into the game and then trade rare items to dupe them too before one of the copies auto-logs out.
That will do the trick. -
-
I've come back from work to find there was maintenance. I now can't log anything in. All I get is a DBServer error.
Anyone else having this problem? -
I can't log into Champion. Tried several alts. They all come up with the DBServer error.

It's always jarring when they change the maps with each issue. It's a weird well-known but unacknowledged and rarely-discussed change.
Maps have been getting noticeably less friendly to speeders and flyers, with more jutting obstacles along the longer corridors.
I memorised all the redside mission maps in Issue 6/7, then was shocked when they suddenly changed in Issue 8. -
Quote:Ah yes.None. I love music, but I hate not being able to hear the glowies when they are hidden.
Causes of unnecessary player death - Number 27: "flicking from COX screen to Windows Media Player to pause music, because you can't hear the glowie".
The ambushes always know when you are at your most vulnerable. -
Oh and you can't ever go wrong with "Force Your Way" from Final Fantasy VIII. Good for Hami and Mothership Raids

25% of the time I use the game's own sound/music. The other 75% I use game sound effects plus my own soundtrack.
Mostly tracks from movie/game soundtracks that I liked the sound of. Anything from obvious stuff like "Burly Brawl" from Matrix Reloaded, to "Battle Merits" from the original Kessen game. Also random 80s stuff like Africa, Take On Me and other pop rock fare. I'm fond of "Fly me to the Moon" from Bayonetta at the moment, when using my Dual Pistols Corr
"Dark Phoenix's Tragedy" from X-Men 3 is the absolute best soundtrack for an AV battle. For four years it's been what I play the Tree mission of the villain respec and last mission of the LRSF to.
Random selection:
"Enterprising Young Men" from Star Trek (the new film).
"Rinbu Revolution" from Revoluntionary Girl Utena.
"The Howling" by Within Temptation.
The long version of Reiko's theme ("Look to the Sky") from Rumble Roses 1.
Ending Titles from Blade Runner.
Stuff from Star Trek II and IV, Troy, Unbreakable, Transformers (cartoon movie and first live-action movie), The Matrix trilogy, Dynasty Warriors games, Donkey Kong Country games, "Port Town" from F-Zero, anything from Mass Effect I&II.
Ogre's and Yoshimitsu's themes from Tekken 3 fit into pretty much any in-game situation.
So yeah, pretty much anything I've heard and liked, over the past 10 years. There's like 2000 tracks on my playlist, 80% instrumental/soundtracks.
