That's my feeling too. I dislike the idea of being told that because you didn't join early enough and didn't spend fast enough, you can't have enough shot at a great looking costume set for another six months or a year or three. Just sell the older VIP reward costumes as the three packs. Heck, that'd be, what? $15 for all three?

I like that idea. Help the Longbow Carrier take out the Column gun platforms, like getting shots lined up and stuff, as well as dealing with the Column's forces.
  4. Hopefully someone can record those panels and, I dunno, post them to YouTube or something. Or the devs are recording it and can post them for us. Please?

  7. I'd like to see the Fifth Column Secret Base battling the Longbow Sky Carrier or something. Like a mobile, friendly Giant Monster (think Seed of Hamidon) that periodically wanders over to the Fifth Column base and they exchange weapons fire.

Real world accents tend to sound NOTHING like what movies tell us they do. Like the standard movie Australian accent is closer to New Zealand. Or the generic "Southern" accent is vaguely similar to something only found in maybe parts of Alabama or, more likely, Texas. My cousin is an actor from North Carolina and he gets hit with this a lot, being told his quite genuine and distinctive North Carolina Piedmont accent sounds "fake."

You do know the actress voicing the girl is Scottish? These are seriously toned down, but authentic. If they sounded like Scots do sometimes, you'd need captions to make sense of them.
  10. From The Escapist:

    Quote:
    Server Screw Up Kills MMO

Japanese MMO M2 has been shut down after the game was accidentally deleted during server maintenance.

M2 was taken offline at 8PM on the 21st of October due to a "critical issue" one of the game's main servers. Whatever the problem was, it's kind of a moot point now, because the game isn't coming back. Neither current game operators Hangame nor Sankando, the original developer, could restore the game data, and this seems to be another case of developers playing fast and loose when it comes to backups.

M2 had a fairly small user base, but it was heavily based around microtransactions and premium items, so chances are there's more than a few angry players lamenting their lost time and money. Hangame is issuing "conditional" refunds to certain players.

The shutdown brings the whole microtransction model into question. If persistent games can disappear so abruptly, and for such an easily avoidable reason, then all of a sudden those fancy in-game items don't seem like such a solid investment. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got some hats to sell.
... soooo, um, hey devs? How well backed up is CoH? You do have, like... triple backups or something, right?
  11. Like the title says, I'm trying to find a good, solid Elec/elec/elec blaster build. No purples or PvP IOs, but otherwise, price isn't a huge issue. I don't know a whole lot about building for blasters, so I'll take any advice I can get. The character's travel power is Flight.
  12. I'm debating between Earth/Poison and Mind/Poison. I have an Earth/Fire dom and have enjoyed it, and I'm having trouble which power set better fits my concept (the character is a Gorgon/a Medusa type).
  13. This is my earth/poison build, and I'd like some feedback on it. I'm debating swapping out Stealth for Acrobatics (I'm a fan of the power since it lets me not get stomped by every Mag 1 Hold gas or enemy hold poke or whatever that comes along). Took Psychic Mastery for concept reasons. I don't have much experience with /Poison, so I'd like some feedback on this. Thanks!

    Also, suggestions on Alpha?

  14. I typically slot Volcanic Gasses with 4 Basilisk Gazes and the Lockdown +2 hold proc. The Lockdown proc goes off pretty often and can be really effective at boosting your hold effects. It's 100% worth it.

But I am curious to see what the new powers are. I'm really hoping for some more physical or meatier feeling Judgement attacks, like an earthstomp or omnibeam or something.

I wondered that about Wade too. I figured either he's running a much larger gambit than the Rulu-Shin, or while he's all for Rularuu coming and eating everyone, he's still against the Rulu-Shin because they're a bunch of splitters. I filed it under "Maybe this will come up later."

The last mission was even more weird. I didn't know I could speak with anyone in there, and I didn't go into the vault because... The rest of it is portal-hopping, and I'm happy to see the Horta Vines being used. I do wish they'd get a bit better graphics, though, as they remind me of the Xen teleporters from the OOOLD original Half-Life. Still, nice idea. Ending up in the Abyss was a cool move, as well, and without actually letting us reach the Hamidon, I don't think. The elite boss at the end was kind of annoying, as I realised all too late that the lieutenants could heal him to full. Oh, well. Still beat him without dying.
I liked that mission, just because it was a cool series of hops as you "pursued" a retreating villain. Gave the sense that you're chasing someone. I'd love to see more missions like this, where you're diving through portals or whatever.

Because parents are cruel to their children like that.

You do have the ability now to manually turn off buffs. Right click on the particular buff icon and hit CANCEL. That'll turn the, say, Ice Shield off. No more buff animation (no more buff either, of course). This doesn't work for stuff like Mystic Fortune or Secondary Mutation, since those are temporary powers.
  21. I've been playing my Elec/Earth/Ice dominator, and while he's a lot of fun, I'm finding the character is quite a bit more squishy and often getting splutted before I can really do some damage. When I can close in I'm okay, I've got enough knockdowns/crowd control/drain to keep things busy, but I'm getting blown away at range. But when I'm fiddling around with Mids, I can't seem to get much ranged defense beyond maybe 15% at most. My Earth/Fire/Leviathan dominator doesn't feel this squishy (then again, she has about 30% ranged defense).

I've invested mainly in Recharge, with Regeneration as a secondary priority since I can't manage much defense. I might swap out Phase Shift for Hibernation and maybe Invisibility for Combat Jumping. I took Ice Mastery for concept reasons, but might be convinced to change to Fire Mastery as it'd still fit the concept. Not using the Patron powers, as not going redside.

For Incarnate stuff probably going the Musculature Radial path for the boosted damage and end drain and Diamagnetic Core path for the -toHit.

But does anyone have any suggestions on how to improve this build?
