Correct; if you send an email to a name that doesn't exist it just comes back to you. This may be mistaken as an alternate way to send things to yourself.

I would think "do it all" would count farming. Which involves lots of enemies in normal spawns. Heck just running task forces and trials counts as "it all" and that has lots of regular enemies.
  7. I wouldn't consider it "trivial" to have two acid mortars up with traps. You still have to wait for the power to recharge. You can get that on AVs sure, but how often are enemies in normal spawns going to last long enough for you to cast acid mortar twice? It's also still a stupid pet and the radius isn't super large. I like traps, but don't exaggerate!

Average costs of a la carte/pack vs bundled parts/pack.

Note, the Party pack doesn't have any costumes to bundle and Mutant, GR:Basic, GR:Complete, and Good vs Evil don't offer bundles. IDF and Barbarian sets not included in this list.

The best is the Magic Pack at a savings of $0.58 on average per part. The worst is the Wedding Pack at a savings of $0.02 on average per part.
Yeah, the average price per part is pretty much what I was looking for.

The absolute highest is $1.00 per part for the origins pack. Most of them though hover around 25-30 cents per part. Even if you take the average from the pieces when bought individually, only the origins pack is near $1.00 (looking at that, it's a bit overpriced).

Even if the wedding pack has the worst "savings," you're still only paying 50 cents per part. I'm not as much concerned with the savings when paying for items in bulk as I am overpaying for each individual item. And none of these except for origins ask you to pay $1.00 per item. Averaged out you pay 38 cents per part. That includes packs that have more than just costumes, and the high origins pack. They should be asking, at the very most, 40-50 cents for new individual items.

If (and when) they decide to make an Auras value pack, it will follow a similar deal. The sum will be less than the individual parts. Premiums are charged to players that demand individual options, because that's how pricing always works in the real world. Why would this be any different?
Yes, there should be value in ordering items as a set, but 1) they're valuing individual items at 1/5th the price of 40-60 items, 2) you can't buy them as a set so you have to pay those high prices. Hell, just the weapons offered in the Barbarian pack are worth $5.00 at the same price we're expected to pay for new auras and backpacks.

    $1.00 = 1 item
$5.00 = around 50 items (or 10 items per dollar)

I'd actually be interested to see just how many costume parts each pack contains. Divide that by five and you'll get the estimated worth for a costume part when bought as a pack. For instance, the magic pack has 47 costume parts or so. So is the real value of the magic pack $47, and they're just being nice and offering it for 1/10th that? Is the magic pack in reality worth three months of subscription time?

One single item shouldn't be worth 1/5th of a pack that contains 50 items. Unless all this time they've been super generous offering us costume parts at a 90% discount when the real worth of costume parts is massive. Because otherwise it just looks like we're getting ripped off when being offered individual items for such a high price.

The bottom line is, it's acceptable for things to cost a bit more if they're not part of a set. But not 10x+ more, especially when there's no set option even available to alleviate the price. You mention the real world -- in the real world you usually get something like a 10-20% discount for buying in bulk. Maybe during special sales you'll get a buy-one-get-one free deal. Not buy one get nine free. Even if we're talking fireworks.

I'd probably buy things like these if they were 25 cents each. Which would still cost more than buying them as a pack (if one even existed). But not at a dollar each.

I own every single costume pack, and I bought them all when they were $10 instead of $5. I bought the barbarian pack right away. I even have the party pack. The sense of value I get from those things is worthwhile (although for a while I had no intention of buying the party pack as its price per item is very high). The value of these new items is about ten times less than I've paid for items in the past. They're horribly overpriced. And while I know people are buying them anyway, I will not be. I would love to buy many of the store items, but not at the prices they're expecting me to pay. And I've thrown lots of money at the game in the past, over stupid things, so that's saying something.
  10. Once again a single costume part for $1.00. I question why costume packs went down to $5.00 and a brand new pack came out for $5.00, yet you guys are selling individual items for $1.00.

It's like you have a Jekyll and Hyde operating the price sheets. On one hand you have a guy going "I'll give people about 40-60 items for $5.00! I'm valuing individual costume pieces around 8 to 15 cents each!" and then another guy goes "AHAHAHAHA $1.00 PER PIECE, YEAAAAHHHH!" And then he drinks blood out of a skull and rides off on a motorcycle made of baby seals.

Interesting to see that Cims actually outdo Warworks even though WW do -regen. I didn't think anything would actually be as powerful as WW are. That's kind of scary since as I said the Victoria bot can already solo AVs.

    Evil Robots...

One thing I do know is that trying to juggle all the tagged targets from two sets at once gets a little mentally taxing. Then again, at higher levels of Time I quit bothering with the ST debuff from Time except on AVs.
  15. I thought of doing an Ice/Time Controller for the slows and similar powers. On beta I tested it and, while it worked okay and the powers were good at keeping enemies locked down, it did basically no damage. I opted instead for an Ice/Time Corruptor. I still have slows and holds to stack, and I much prefer having damage to deal.

Fiddling with Burnout on beta, I found that a lot of buffs are flagged to not stack with themselves, even ones that normally couldn't be stacked even if you were at the recharge cap. You might want to check and see if you can even have double Recovery Aura from yourself.
  17. I believe Warworks still rate high in DPS. Not sure how exactly they rate side-by-side with Cims, but they do pack -regen. The Victoria bot does absolutely ludicrous damage, and she can solo AVs (if you keep her from dying).

I don't see that as very useful. First nuke would kill all the minions and nearly defeat lieutenants (if not defeat outright). If you're going to pop enough blues to get enough end to use Burnout and nuke again you may as well just do regular AoEs and finish off the lieutenants. Then all you have left is bosses and it's not worth nuking on a boss. And using nuke on EBs or AVs is also a waste.

Unless the plan is just to nuke two spawns in a row, but then you're dealing with the crashes of a nuke and Burnout, and you already used blues (and you'd need to use 2-3 just to be able to use Burnout and nuke again).

    - Great team support

So, what combo would fit the bill for this, if there is a combo that can do all of that and what would the build look like. Any help would be appreciated.
You won't really find a Dom that can do healing. It's not what Doms do. It's like looking for a Scrapper that does healing. Closest you can get is Spirit Tree, and it's a pretty minor boost. As for the others:

Every Dom has good holds because every Dom has at least a single target and AoE hold. If you want above and beyond, Earth Control has a really potent AoE hold and its pet can hold. Gravity and Ice also have pets that hold. In secondaries, Earth Assault can hold with Seismic Smash, and Energy, Earth, and Ice have Power Boost for longer mezzes.

For DPS the good options are Fire and Earth. Some sets just don't have enough AoE, like Elec and Energy. Thorns I'm not sure of the numbers on but it may be good if you can handle the cones. For epics I'd take Fire or Ice. Some primaries add good damage like Fire Control and Plant Control.

For team support that boils down to mezzing enemies the easiest. That'd be Fire Control, Earth Control, Plant Control, and Mind Control. If you want to toss some extra mezzes and soft control in from secondaries that gives you Earth Assault, Energy Assault, and Ice Assault.

The best Dom I managed to put together is Plant/Earth/Fire. She has really powerful attacks whether in ST or AoE. And her carrion creeper vines add more damage. Her confuse recharges about 5x faster than its duration and she has Seismic for extra holds. She hits hard and mezzes hard, and in AV fights I even have Spirit Tree, although I wouldn't count that as a major addition (it's a little helpful though).

But I'm also messing with a Fire/Thorn Dom recently and I tend to like her thus far. It's hard to go wrong with fire.
  21. Yo archetype thread, I'm really happy for you and Imma let you finish, but Night Widows are the best AT of all time.
  22. Well when I heard about the power I thought it was something that people had been asking for for ages but it was considered "too powerful." Then we finally get it, and I started wondering what to do with it. Then I started realizing most buffs have a don't-stack rule, and started wondering if there's really anything that would be dramatically better with the ability to double cast something. Plus it only works on primary/secondary powers, not epics, pools, or temps.

Has anyone figured out any really GOOD uses for Burnout? To justify taking the powers and the endurance hit.

EDIT: Meant to put this under archetypes and powers. Whoops.

  24. Don't get rid of DOs; I like how I can tape grenades to my katana and make it do more damage.

Actually I'd prefer we just had "enhancements" that were a universal thing. TOs with SO strength, from 1-50. Get rid of the way too many stores, get rid of the having way too many items, get rid of getting drops that do what you want but you can't equip. All damage enhancements should be equippable by everyone and be the same strength.

I miss having a single target heal, and the long recharges on the AoE heals can be a bother compared to traditional sets. Its -regen also isn't as impressive as sets like Rad or Dark.

It's a good set, but not without its downsides. It's not the perfect set.
