I say let them have at it. The sooner they realize this isn't the type of game they like the sooner they'll leave. Don't force them to be miserable. Then they'll only hang around complaining and scaring away players that would like the game.
I tend to play for the end-game and I'm not going anywhere (unless lack of costume parts drive me out again). You can have the middle-game and I can have my end-game and we can coexist. You can't understand this game isn't all about the middle-game.

I can do that too, but yes it's because you and I know how the AT works. Doms aren't as newbie friendly as a melee AT.

A Dom player needs to know the difference between each mez type and what magnitidues are. They need to know the durations of those powers and know how to apply them correctly. You also have to rely on some long recharge powers that need good accuracy slotting and aiming. If you mess up it can mean death. If you run into a more difficult situation, you don't have RES/DEF/heals/HP to back you up. A melee player just needs to punch things until they die.

All my characters at 50 are set in their current incarnates. I'm happy with Warworks and Rularuu pets. I'm happy with dark and fire judgements. I'm happy with my RES/DEF destinies.

But some of my other lingering characters could use better options. I'd like some energy and physical judgements. A PBAoE ground punch would be great. It also wouldn't hurt to get a psi pick in there. We could still get a rain judgement of some sort. That would be nice.

I used to have to hold characters back from 40+ based on APP/PPP themes. I still do sometimes (damn Corrs for not having a fire epic). Now I'm noticing I'm holding them back from 50 based on incarnate picks.
  4. Melees are the most popular ATs combined, so of course they get the most love. That said, devs did confirm that they're working on some new stuff for Dominators. And Blast and Support sets are usually in the works.
  5. To 50 sounds pretty doable. I've been skipping to 22 by doing it and that only takes a few hours.

I do worry about the AE baby syndrome it can create though.

That has nothing to do with Incarnate powers, which have 0% recharge bonus, and would get the entire boost. And incarnate powers are what the thread is about.

Lore would be the worst example of this. Many of the buffs the pets use are timed specifically for certain things. They throw out Fortitude, Adrenaline Boost, or +50% damage buffs. Most of them have heals which would increase greatly with Spiritual. Or +DEF buffs that are limited by their recharge.

It would also make them around more often, and they're already quite powerful. Yes, Musculature makes them more powerful but you'd get that in addition to having all their buffs and debuffs available more often. Rularuu pets would have the evil eyeball around more often, who does lots of damage, debuffs, and mezzes. On top of having your other pet around more, who could be a healer and a +50% damage buffer.

For Judgement, it would mean you could nuke more often (nuke more often is more dangerous than nuke for more damage; just the base damage already kills most minions so the bonus damage is less of an issue). It would also mean debuffs up more. Void's -50% damage debuff is a notable example.

The devs already said in beta that if spiritual worked on other incarnate powers, they'd have to nerf them. If you compare it to Musculature, Spiritual would make you do more damage in addition to doing more buffs/debuffs. Your pets would do more damage in the long run and heal for more and buff more often.
  7. It's worth noting you can't run them on -1. It'll still set everything to +0. But +1 through +4 work.
  8. Hooray, more trials when I already can't run the ones we have. I'd like more solo options please. My computer cries at regular trials, much less the even more intensive new ones. And 50 threads a week as an alternative isn't that great when I need something like 10,000 of them.

But if CoX is going to start doing "one-time-only" bull**** then I'm going to lose alot of love for the game. Witht he exception of anniversary and unique event badges, nothing is truely "limited".
You said yourself that they already don't limit things. All other holiday-related costume parts, badges, and powers are repeated yearly. What makes you think these won't be?

The vampire face is awful, so is the medusa one.
And the fish parts, serpentine hair etc, it just looks rushed. I'd rather wait longer for new stuff to have it better made.
I think the vampire and medusa faces are supposed to look awful. I thought they looked cheesy and stupid. But that's most likely the point. It's a Halloween monster-movie type pack. It's for people who want that type of thing. Admittedly not for me. But I bet other people do.

Yes. One weapon model from one weapon set is going to turn the game into City of Final Fantasy.

Just like we had to live through City of Furries, City of Sparta, City of Equilibrium, City of Neo, and all those other times the entire game direction changed because of one new costume part. You remember that, right?

You may as well quit now before the game becomes City of The Old West.
  15. I'm surprised nobody's made any Mars Attacks attempts yet.

One of the models is a train crossing sign. I imagine we'll get some giant blunt instruments to hit people with. They probably won't all be swords.
  17. I think this'll be the first pack I'm not going to buy. Not that I'm saying it's bad, it just doesn't have anything that I'd be able to make use of on any of my characters. I don't have any monsters except for my necromancer, and she's fine the way she is.

I am looking forward to the kinds of things people come up with though. Already that flaming headless guy is pretty sweet. Will be neat to see fish-men too.

If you're going Void Radial, you may as well hang out at Uncommon for a while. The only difference going up in levels is the radius and how many targets you hit. Damage, debuff amount, and duration are all the same. And it already hits lots of people. So other than minor boosts, focus on other stuff. My widow has t4 Void Radial, but only because she had so many extra components left over after getting t4 Reactive, Warworks, Barrier, and Rebirth (yes two Destinies).

The ONLY thing with more is an MM that uses Dark Maisma and gets a Dark Servant .. 6 from the primary, one from the secondary and two from lore for a total of 9. hehehe I also have 2 masterminds like that!
Since you're counting Lore which isn't perma I can only assume you aren't requiring all the pets to be perma. In which case Thugs/, Demons/, Necro/, /Traps, Plant/, /Storm, Illusion/, and various other types of characters can have that many or more pets.

My Necro can do 9 pets before Lore. My Thug/Trap can do 9 to 11 before Gang War or Lore. My Plant Dom could have a dozen or so depending on where I throw Creepers.

    The future sets

I'm still waiting on Dual Archery Defense.
  21. Speaking on pets:

Core path is a good choice for basically anyone. The pets will do a lot of damage, even if you take one of the lesser damage ones. If you actually want damage though, the top four are Cims, Warworks, Phantoms, and Rularuu.

For surviving, the bosses tend to do okay. They have over 2000 HP and the RES/DEF they get inherently will keep them around. Lieutenants can have issues just because they have less HP. If you can't support them in any way, I might suggest getting a ranged lieutenant over a melee one. Just so he stays out of trouble.

For support/buffing pets, the support isn't that great. Heals are very low. You'll be getting like 10-15% HP heals. They do try to prioritize healing you if you need it, but it's less than a green. Any pets that give +DEF are nice, but the value tends to be around 5%-7.5%. A couple pets have okay buffs/debuffs (Storm Elementals have Hurricane) but none that I really wanted to flock toward.

If all you care about is stats, the best damage pets are Cims assuming you can keep them alive. Warworks do a little less damage for a little better survivability. Rularuu are pretty surviveable and they still debuff and have two holds, for being in the top 4 in damage. If you're going for theme, all the pets are good additions.

However, I'd love to hear why the powerset gurus out there feel Willpower is so great. It is working out pretty well on this new toon of mine, but it is like a multi-function printer. Being a mixture of Invuln, Super Reflexes, and Regen, it is supplying a little of each but is great at none of them. As such, the DEF, Res, and regen/recovery rates all look rather weak when compared to their dedicated counterparts (obviously). Is there a reason why having a little of all three is better than having a lot from just one (like Invulnerability)?
What do you mean "just one like Invuln?" Invuln has high RES and DEF, and comes with a strong heal that adds HP. WP trades the heal in for high regen. It cuts back on the RES/DEF a little, but the +HP is passive. Both sets are similar in their protections. No set relies on just one type of protection. Even SR gets resistances.
  23. Corrs, MMs, or VEATs would probably stack best.

Alpha does do a good amount of ED bypassing. But they do a lot more than that. You can check out the link in my sig to get a rundown. But it's a couple issues old so it doesn't have all the latest info. I need to update it.
