So SR has self heal now? I also wouldn't call EA's heal a heal, especially since using it means you are going to be attacked even more.

So you are saying that dual pistols will have tough, weave, combat jumping and acrobatics in it's primary? That is rather unusual for a range attack primary.

All that shows is the 3 dual pistol powers that have been around as long as thug MM's, it would be like saying fire is represented by flares fireblast, and fire breath.

    JB - Tankers

Actually this is the perfect idea to counter defensive IO's. Give tankers the ability to turn into puppies and/or bunnies, then the whole mob will stand around you say "awwwe how cute". No matter how much defense a scrapper gets, they will never get more then slotted defense and the ability to stop all attacks. Then we unleash this

Yeah there is, you are, you are not going to get a damage increase for tankers without a change to balance them. After all, the devs say all the numbers show tankers are performing above average.

I have yet to read a good example of why BS for stalkers is a bad choice or makes no sense.

Sure it's no FM, but I imagine we will get that next go around. That or Ice. Either way I'm happy.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Agreed it may not be my first choice, but there is nothing wrong with having a second sword set. Then again I think we should get shields.

I thought being a Stalker was about speed, go in, step out.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually broad sword would support this. You go in make a couple of quick high damage attacks and step out while they recharge.

Then again there is no need for a stalker to do this, scrap it out instead of retreating and our damage is better. I also don't see broadsword as that slow of a set, after all we have energy which is slower.
  9. Yes, hide will activate if you are in hibernate.

Yes, enemies will still try to attack you while in hibernate and will stay aggro'd to you unless you have an outside influence to take the aggro, like a team mate.
  10. Greater ice sword isn't weaker then any other set's tier 2 power, it has a 1.96 base damage, while the strongest stalker first or second attack is 1.32. I agree ice is a lower damage set, but there is no need to exaggerate it's low damage.

Then if you compare to elec, since I hope they keep ice's aoe powers.

Tier 1 and 2 are the same. Tier 3 are cones ice does a bit more damage and has a larger cone, while elecs recharges quicker and cost less end, so it is a draw. AS, build up, and placate would be the same. I would also call frozen aura and thunder strike balanced. Thunder strike does extra single target damage while frozen aura does more aoe damage. That leaves ice doing more single target damage and control with ice patch, freezing touch and GIC, while elec having better aoe with LR and chain induction.

Now the trickier part which power the devs would change to AS, they could let ice keep control heavy, focus on single target damage, or aoe. It would be one of the last 4 that becomes AS.
  11. It depends on how you want to play your stalker. If you are going to AS and hide, then you can get by with out stamina. If you want to scrap the I recommend stamina.

I'll raise you one better. Lightning storm, which most people would actually call a "pet" (rather than just a limitation of the engine require a pet) Attacks with a TAoE blast, but only accepts St ranged sets.

Do you go by how the power functions, what it actually does, or what it takes for sets

    [/ QUOTE ]
Well, the powers I named are all "AoE damage" powers that summon a pet which uses a PBAoE auto power, so that's not all that different.

But the point remains that you can call TS (or Lightning Rod) a "PBAoE" because that's what the devs decided it was for accepting sets despite it not exactly being one.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Don't Melee Cones use PBAoE sets too? They're definitely not PBAoEs, so I would argue whether sets define what a power is.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No most melee cones should be PBAoE, they require you to be point blank to the target and are an aoe, so they are PBAoE. So ripper takes PBAoE sets, but throw spines is takes aoe sets. Which makes sense throw spines has a much greater range, and you do not have to be right by the target.

    1. Lots of fast attacks+scourge procs means a scary spike of damage output. Worries me when you see a Corruptor possibly gunning something down in a matter of seconds via a blizzard of bullets like that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

With less than a month of experience how do you think this sounds to anybody with say.....3 months experience?

It's beyond inaccurate it's just plain ignorant. With the way the Dev team is developing powers now, using their Activation/Dmg/End/Recharge or whatever the hell the formula is now, there is no way what you said can, or will happen.

Scourge doesn't start "Proccing" till you get a target lower than 50% their Base Health, which means in PVP if you have +HP Accolades and +HP bonuses it takes that much longer and is that much harder to scourge. Since s/l damage is the most common and highest resisted Damage type I really doubt anybody will be "gunning something down in a matter of seconds," if anything it sounds like death by papercut in the making.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Question I have. What are the Accolades? Are these enhancements of some sort?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Accolades are powers you can earn by completing certain missions, find certain map markers, and reading certain history plaques.

Assault Rifle - Sniper Rifle - Reduced animation time to 0.67.

This means Sniper Rifle takes 0.67s less time to shoot? The old casting time is 4.87s?

    [/ QUOTE ]

No they made it the set interrupt time, and .67. So with an interupt period of 3 seconds it takes 3.67 seconds to animate. Which is 1.2 seconds less then what you say the old version is.

My Sonic Blaster has nuke and it seems like Nuke is mostly for "Wow" factor. People would say "Oh cool!" "Nice nuke" but the team may not need your nuke to begin with. You can use it to amuse yourself or save it for "oh crap!" situation.

Oh my Corruptor, I almost never take nuke as I have good secondary powers to take. On Blaster, you have Aim and Build Up so your nuke can actually kill something quick.

Psychic Wail has stun and even if it doesn't kill, it should stun bosses for a few seconds at least.

There are only 3 true nukes I would take:

Sonic Nuke (stun and resistance debuff and it's quick!)
Psionic Nuke (stun and it's quick)
    Ice Nuke (aoe knockdowns)

    [/ QUOTE ]

You should have rad on the list as well, it is a hold, with -def making sure survivors will die quickly.

    Quick Tips

    [ QUOTE ]
Feel free to add any quick tips on how players can improve their Corr play.

Want to get a feel for how your Corr secondaries might play out at the mid-levels; try rolling a Defender with the same powerset combo. Defenders get to use Corr secondaries a lot sooner enabling you to more quickly find out if a particular combo suits your playstyle.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Except that defenders have stronger buffs and debuffs, and have weaker attacks and learn them much later. Then you have the general difference in the way both play.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
And hey, a Nerf is a Nerf is a Nerf, even if it comes in the guise of a politically correct Nerf.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Do you even know what a nerf is? The devs have to change a power to nerf it. Rttc always detoggled when a player got mezed. It wasn't buffed like other toggles that no longer drop when mezed.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
In general no one really likes the caltrops but they help for running away effectively, thought not really needed if your good.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I for one love caltrops. It is a great power on a stalker. I don't use them to run away though. I use them to cause chaos, get the the AI running in and out of melee range and attacking less it adds a lot to survivability while I work on getting soft caped.

How good is Regen in pve & pvp Right now i have an SR stalker i have a respec and was wondering how good Regen is.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Are you talking about switching secondaries? You can't, a respec only lets you select powers out of the sets you picked at creation and power pools you picked up.

Now if you are creating a new toon then regen does work, it is a nice set for a scrapper like stalker. Though I prefer my stalkers to have defense to fall back on when I solo.

I'd be fine with a fast cast time/fast recharging letahl set. I think a combo system would be better, but I'd be happy with both. I see no epic letdown that you speak of.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well I mean I expect it to be Lethal and/or Smashing, possibly with some random damage type thrown in for balance on a certain power like Flamethrower. I was speaking more on how the actual powers were designed and how they perform.

In other words...at this point in the game's life, I don't want to see a Katana -> Broadsword treatment. Dual Pistols have been salivated over for years now and they deserve some distinct flavor...not just an AR knockoff.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think the devs have learned this to some extent. Look at our newest sets, shield, wp, DB and elec. Elec armor didn't introduce anything new, variations of other armor powers, but WP did, being a combination of res/def/regen, and shield was made as a more damage focused defense set. Then for offense elec introduced a tp attack and an attack that jumps from enemy to enemy, and DB did the combo system.

I am sure there will be rehashed powers, we will get the 3 from MM's, proably as powers 1 2 and 3., but I am pretty sure we will get something out of the box as well.

Err umm, that was a typo, I meant corruptor. I'd never play a goody goodfy blaster..

Except by the time we get dual pistols there will be no reason to play a blaster a a goody goody. Going rogue will of allowed side switching.

What if, in addition to gauntlet, we got something that buffed our primary? You know, just like every other AT in the game has?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Except for controllers and defenders. Controllers inherent buff their damage, it is based on their primary to do damage, but it does not buff it. Defenders though are the complete opposite, their inherent is based on them ignoring their primary, since it only works when team mates are not supported.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Controller's primary controls and does some damage. Containment buffs the damage portion of that. Thus it buffs their primary.

Defender's buffs/debuffs cost endurance to run and cast. Vigilance buffs their primary by reducing it's endurance cost. It's not great, and in fact should be up above tanks in getting a better inherent, but this isn't the defender's forum.

Let me be totally clear. I'd not touch gauntlet. However any additional inherent should address some, if not all of these issues:

-Buff a tank's primary in some way

    -Have an effect in PvP

-Not diminish anything tanks currently do

-Provide flavor and fun, especially at lower levels before those new to tanks give up on them. (should be effective and noticeable at level 1)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Tanker primaries have powers that taunt, so using your reasoning their inherent already buffs their primary.

I would welcome any inherent, esp one we can use while solo.

Taunt (power) should have been free for tanks, and something more useful to take its place in our secondary.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Isn't that why we have gauntlet to get taunt as an inherent? All of our attacks work like taunt, aggroing more then just what we hit. Though I like having taunt as well, if I feel like being an aggro sponge, I like as many options as possible.
