In the past...
These badges were a lot harder to get because the requirements were much higher. http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Immortal_Badge [Edited]. If the page was updated by the time you read this, to even get Immortal, you needed 1 billion points damage taken, not 100 million as it is now. Your request for another revamp may be possible, but I highly doubt it. I remember they revamped the empath badge twice, but 100 mill damage points seems reasonable to me.
If you had two accounts or had access to a range targetted healer, people used to farm Rikti Chief Soldiers. You were able to take in more damage than your actual Health Points because NPCs had to follow the "1-shot; no kill" rule. While on rest, the soldier would take 8-10 seconds to attack 1 melee blow (forgot the actual time, since it was long ago). Before he inflicted the next blow, the healer, already AFK spamming heals, would take your health back up to 100% before the next blow and you would never die. People got over 1 mill damage per hour.
The way I did it, since you couldn't change the level of those Rikti bosses, I actually farmed in the northern zone of Rikti Warzone. I knew that these NPCs had to follow the "1-shot; no kill" rule. So, I tried another method to take out the need for a third party healer. I went to Ouroboros and exemplared/malefactored to level 39 from level 50. This is not because 35 was the cut off point, back then, to enter RWZ. I did few experiments and, with the help of someone else to isolate 1 rikti soldier in Northern RWZ, I was able to damage farm solo. Because I was on TF/SF mode from Ouroboros, the game couldn't boot me because of my AFK status in open zone. Even with 1-slotted Health and Rest with a level 50 Healing IO, I experimented with my stalker, thermal corruptor, fire aura brute with their self heals off, the Rikti Chief Soldier just couldn't kill me. The % value u got from the level 50 Healing IOs on both powers was enough for the current HP you had (even with the other 3 accolades) to regenerate back to full health in time for each interval blows. The biggest kicker was that I was taking in about 9-10 mill damage per hour. I remember this specifically because it only took me an hour to get the 4th damage badge (10 million points back then) required for one of the villain accolades. It was also easier on my computer since I only had 1 computer at the time and me needing a healer on spam would just destroy its resources by dual boxing.
Now...
As some of the players mentioned, for a villain, the damage badge required for Born in Battle accolade has been reduced from the 4th to the 3rd damage badge. Even though these values never changed, the requirement of 1 million damage points as opposed to 10 million damage points is rather significant. But this is not what you were asking for...
As some players mentioned, people use the lava or a CoT guide to farm damage because it simply works. The CoT guide inflicts 1 melee attack for every 10 seconds. Within that time, you have to find a way with your toon to regenerate back up to 100% HP before the next blow or you'll die.
Depending on your ArcheType, you can push the values of a CoT guide damage by raising the level of difficulty and have a level 54 beat on your repeatedly inside a mission. I know my latest mastermind was not able to handle the damage, because I'm thinking of its low base HP. At 50, it has a base HP of only 803. With the 1-slotting I do to Health and Rest on that toon, I couldn't even take on a +0 level CoT Guide and had to have a -1 Guide beat on me.
Now, after explaining the level 54 Rikti Chief Soldier I used to farm - I wrote that in past tense because the developers added an extra ranged attack making it impossible for us to use them for damage farming now. There is a way you could still use the Ouroboros method to farm plenty of damage. This is specific to certain ArcheTypes only and is very dependent on zone-rules (as in Rikti invasion, Zombie invasion, and zone players ganking NPCs without knowing your intent). I've only worked this out on City of Heroes and not on City of Villains, but if you exemplar to level 34 and go to a level 50 CoT guide by Portal Corps., you can use that CoT guide for damage farming. I know someone mentioned they effectively farmed them taking in 332K damage per hour, but my value (assuming he does not miss) is 810K damage per hour. The level 50 Guide (specifically 50 because 49s deal less damage) inflicted 2250 HP on my scrapper (again, this is AT specific so I can not guarantee this would work with the intended AT you're intending to farm with) per blow. My scrapper, even with all the + HP accolades and the +HP set bonuses, was taking in the full amount of damage because, at that level, the Guide is actually inflicting more damage than my Exemplared HP. On City of Villains, I know there are CoT guides on the beaches of Grandville, but they are level 42-44. Again, isolating one guide will need someone to help you do that. I haven't tested specific malefactored levels to maximize the damage points taken on that faction. I have tried level 14, 19, 24, 29, 39, and 44 on that level 50 CoT Guide in Peregrine Island and 34 seems to be the best for my scrapper. At those other levels, I just was not getting the same nor higher amount of damage that I woudl get at level 34.
As far as the Rikti Chief Soldier farm is concerned, not all is lost. You will need a third party healer for this. I can not go further on this because I don't want to share.
I apologize for writing so much... -
Quote:You're right, but "master of" setting had us thinking to go for overkill on the holds to get the greens down as fast as possible due to their 50 mag hold protection. This second time around, we used EoEs and these were mainly used by the brute. While the brute stood by the Hami to grab aggro, the rest of they team did not have to worry much about the damage inflicted by Hami and were free to kill the Blue and Greens. The Yellows were taken down first by the brute and fortunata. Building the team, I felt this was a "safe" team makeup. It doesn't require nearly as many control types as y'all are bringing along. When we took it down last week we had a tank, 3 defenders, 2 trollers (an ill and a Grav), and 2 forts. Would have been faster but we didn't use pets because we didn't want draw to much hami agro.
I we used 3 EOE's in total, 2 for the tank killing the yellows and one on my fort during the blues. -

I LOVE RED DOTS NEXT TO MY NAME! IT IS MUCH COOLER THAN LAME GREEN!. I SAID IT.... LAME! -
I did it in less than an hour. Hunting in PVP zones is the worst way no matter what because of the PVP restrictions. Depending on your Archetype, set for -1\x8\NO BOSSES doing radio missions in PI (assuming you're level 50). You can burn through them as Lieutenants and still get credit as long as they're "Toxic Tarantulas". If you have friends hunting with you, I suggest you spawn the map first SOLO, THEN invite them that way you guarantee yourself no bosses. Bosses will just take longer to kill. Hope you have fun.

Thank you thank you! Getting it down to under an hour must be insane considering how nerve racking the Hamidon mission is. We literally took every precaution imaginable because once someone was tagged, we retreated and rebuffed. On this run, on the final green, one of our squishies was tagged and the DoT stayed on him for a good amount of time. We had the rads surroundinging him with radiant aura to keep his health up. When the realization that we killed all the mitos, it was a huge sigh of relief to know we were over the biggest hurdle.
Since the previous image does not show proof that such a badge does exist, here is the image of a toon with it:

I don't know whether you could see the picture or not, but team make up was 2 illusion controllers*, 4 more controllers, 1 Veat, and 1 Brute. We did different combinations that worked the same way but had accidental fluke deaths. The first 2 attempts was: 1 brute, 2 doms, 5 controllers ---- 1 tank, 2 Veats, 5 controllers. Both combinations worked but accidental deaths were the cause of our sole deaths. With the 50 mag hold protection on each green mito, you need to overwhelm them with holds so fortunatas, controllers, and dominators are the archetypes of choice. As far as Essence of the Earth inspirations you mentioned, none of us really used them. I had bought 10 EoEs off the market for people to use and e-mailed them to some players for them to "claim" when the mission would be up, but none really popped them. When I saw Turgenev's post that his team was able to do it, we decided to give it a go with a faster time because we love this challenge.

This is nice. People want to amass enough players to "work together" to destroy a Hami Raid, but they can't come together for something as simple as this. Is it because you guys would prefer Matt, Valor, Steele, or someone who you people are more familiar with? After all, who am I? I am that tick in your mind slowly sipping out brain fluid but at the same time leaving my mark - an idea that this may actually be fun. When this event goes off eventually, I won't be there to lead it because "hey, who is Desum? She's probably like Cold Eng or Dragynmaster who has never lead anything successfully." I am a 3 month noob who doesn't know the goings of this game and will assume the position to the veterans of this game because they are sooooo good.

Lemme compare Liberty to stereotyped American High School:
The Populars: The more active members on the Liberty forums with 1000+ posts
The Glee Club: Camo and his little friends ***** from Camo's Teen Lounge
The Jocks: Those always starting up teams and leading stuff
The Outcasts: Those who just laugh and does not associate with the obnoxiousness of majority of Liberty players - especially those constantly stating their worthless opinions on this forum, except for Fitzsimmons - he's my Liberty Idol.
The Goths and Cutters: Those who abuse speeding TFs, powerlevels, and use of exploits because THEY CAN and it is their 14.99 to do WHATEVER they want. The Jocks and the Populars may think that they're only destroying themselves in the game, but the Outcasts in them just tell those obnoxious players to play ring around the rosie while they take 90% of the time chatting with their MMO BFFs rather than play a game that was meant to be played.
Janitors: the Devs and Mods who have to clean up the "Doo Doo" from the forum chats and channel chats by silencing and getting rid of players on temporary bans.... oh and deleting offensive threads. erhm i.e. MOD 8
You guys can see where I belong on this list. If you feel like you can add more to the list, please do so, I am having fun semi-conforming to the Populars -
You don't know me; therefore, I suck. I like how you're indirectly telling the rest of us we're not good players. I want to see how YOU play and I will make sure I have diarrhea the day I play with you so I can take a big load off on you, Mr. ICringeOnNoobs.

RWZ Mothership Raid Challenge
Challenge:
The challenge is to bomb all 24 grates in the Rikti Warzone Mothership. Someone I came across in another server mentioned this and told me this has never been done before. When RWZ was first introduced, some friends and I were able to bomb 11-12 grates in one Raid sitting. Using a strategy I devised, I hope to make this happen with your help.
Participants:
I hope to get level 50 characters from you and not have level 14s running around expecting an indirect PL (power level). Vanguard Merits will not be as bountiful with the current strategy until you start attacking the GM (giant monster). If your team is not done setting off bombs, do not prioritize attacking the GM until that’s done.
Main Strategy
We only need 24 characters to make this happen and I’m sure we’ll have well over that amount. I will be splitting all the raiders into 4 teams, each taking a side of the ship (North, South, East, and West). As you know there are 6 grates at each side. On a standard MSRaid, raiders normally attack the Southern side of the ship right after Pylon 1 is destroyed. From there, the each team will be handling all 6 bombs by themselves.
Team Strategy
The team will consist of 1-2 “grate killers” and 6-7 “sneakers”. Once the last pylon is destroyed, each team goes to their designated ship location – North, South, East, or West. The leader of the team will ideally be a grate killer. The team starts off at the center edge of the ship. The grate killer(s) start attacking the grates in a zigzag pattern moving side to side along their side of the ship. As each grate goes down, Riktis will start piling up on the grate killer(s). As the Riktis follow the grate killer(s), a sneaker could sneak in the grate. The sneaker QUITs team, THEN set off bomb. As the sneakers move inside all 6 grates and bomb, the grate killer/leader re-invites everyone after the last bomb is set. If the grate killer invites too early, the rest of the sneakers who have not set off a bomb, may not be able to set it off. Your role is further explained at the bottom.
Grate Killer
I will assign 3 other sub-leaders. Ideally, I would want a player who knows how to be firm with commands. The grate killer starts off killing Grate 1 to Grate 6 in a zigzag pattern as shown in the image. If there happens to be more than 1 grate killer, please attack as one – attack the same grate. Reason for this, I want the Riktis to latch onto you that way a sneaker can safely sneak inside the grate without being disturbed. As members of your team start quitting, make sure all 6 grates are being bombed and your teammates are undisturbed as they set off their bomb. When all 6 grates have smoke coming out, you will receive a tell from your allies for re-invite. Only AFTER all 6 bombs are set off, you will re-invite. It is up to you afterwards whether or not your team wants to jump the GM (giant monster) at the center or wait for another team to finish their bombing to join you. During the whole bomb process, grate killer(s) should not be attacking Riktis and just concentrate on killing the grates. As grate killer, I expect you to use [demonic aura], [eye of the magus], [elusive mind], or pop as many purples as u need to execute this. When I solo’d all 6 grates, it only took me 1 min and 30 sec to do so.
Sneaker
After the last pylon is destroyed, go to your designated side and wait at the Starting Point. As the grate killer(s) destroys Grate 1, ONE of you sneaks inside. The Riktis should not be able to bother you since they would be latched onto the grate killer(s). As you are safely inside, QUIT the team, set off bomb, and return to the Starting Point. Only one person per grate should be doing this to avoid multiple agro. As each grate is destroyed, one sneaker goes in to the grate and repeat this process. If you happen to be more than able-bodied to help the grate killer, do NOT help the grate killer because you don’t want enemies latched onto you. After you set off the bomb, send a tell to your leader for a re-invite. He/she will re-invite you only after all 6 grates are bombed. *If one of you happen to have stealth and teleport and would want to sneak in and TP members inside the grate, you can use that strategy for those “afraid” to sneak in. Just make sure that the person who is being teleported QUITs before setting off bomb. If they expect a TP back to the Starting Point, don’t TP; they have to be gutsy and go back there. During this whole process, no one should be attacking Riktis.
The Rest of the Raid
The Pylon destruction would be executed the same way as previous raids. Everyone meets up at Point du Hoc and leader will call out Pylon numbers for destruction. When each team is done bombing their side of the ship, everyone meets up at the center to kill the GM and earn Vanguard Merits. If you were not able to earn a bomb credit for the badge nor was on the team who was not able to catch up and kill the GM, do not worry about it because the whole point of this raid is to see how well division of labor would work when one main objective is at hand – setting off all 24 bombs on the mothership. If there happens to be more players who would want to join and there’s no more room on the main teams, please attack from the Southern side of the ship. I will handle that side and modify whatever needs to be adjusted in my strategy.
The Date and Time
I have changed the original date of this challenge from May 14th to a date when there's actually people replying to this thread. As of this message, a few of you have looked at this thread, but hav enot bothered to reply. When there's at least 3 leaders wanting to help me out, we'll discuss on the date to do this. If you think you can handle the responsibility of being firm and be the main grate killer, please post your global name on the next thread… I will contact you in-game. Steele Magnolia and American Valor, if you two happen to be there, I would like you to spam what you naturally spam on request: “Plz spam CM, ID,…” etc.

Good job on pasting the data chunk by the way. It's much easier to read.
First off, you don't slot sets that you don't need bonuses on like 4 slotting impervious skin, or goft of the ancients 4 slotted. When would you ever need debt protection? Also, why did you slot for Aegis when the psi res/def is so insignificant in the overall build you just made. When you build your toon, try to look for a goal. You cannot have everything on an invul. Since you're going for aggro holder, I suggest you build for higher melee/smash/lethal defense. That means 6-slotting touch of death, for example. If you want recharge, you don't slot impervious skin at 4, but at 5 so you'll at least get the 5% global recharge.
You have to let us know or let yourself know what you wnat in the build. Players have specified psi res/def builds for invul. Others have made super recharge for perma dull pain. Others have made it high on smash/lethal/melee... you ahve to let us know -
5 of the original 8 members of the Master of the 5th Column Badge run on Friday received the badge through Customer Support. Among the members still needing the badge on the picture posts are Moon over Twilight, Penguin of Death, and Battle Bunni.
-
Yeah, because prior to the patch, upon talking to Lord Recluse, the whole team would mapserve. When coming back online, you're technically still on the Strike Force but you don't get that usual popup of Strike Force completion with time and restrictions. You also didn't get the merits and regular badge. This was before the latest patch right after i16.
-
Quote:I don't think your issue will have the same resolution as ours. You did your run prior to the fix patch that caused loss of information from their end. They wouldn't be able to check if you ran yours successfully or not. The teams who did it after the patch has gotten merits and the regular badge, but NO Master of the 5th Column Badge as should.Same thing for my team...SF done perfectly, no master badge. People who had not done the sf before got the normal badge..as others mentioned. I also dc'd at recluse, but saw the 'merits awarded; text before I did.
It would really be super awesome fantastic if BS issues like this actually got acknowledge in the bug list. I don't feel like logging into the forums every time I decide to run a TF, just to check if there is some stupid bug making it not work, or, not give the badge.
Anyway, I petitoned, and some people who didn't dc, got screenies of the mission complete thing.
So what was teh average time it took for those of you who got the badge, to get it awarded? And did the ones who got that complete load of tripe about the server not recognising you did the tf, did you get it to? -
I'm glad you guys have your issues resolved and congratulations! BUT I still have 4 members on my team, INCLUDING myself, who were not awarded the badge even with petitions sent. I sent a PM to Synapse, but he told me to just wait on Customer Service. It's been since Friday and is now Wednesday, yet... no badge awarded. I've listened to my teammates' advice to send another petition, but it seems I'm only nagging now. I completely understand that there may be a huge waiting list, but how can a team who ran it on Friday and another on Sunday not have all their members awarded the badge, while that Sunday team have theirs???
-
Congratulations! <sigh> Still half of my team, including myself, still need to be awarded the badge. I PMd Synapse about the issue, but it's all on Customer Support. Their tickets is supposedly back up to the wazoo! So... Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday... still waiting ;op
-
So far from the original pictures I posted, 4 out of the 8 members who ran it were awarded the badge. I'm still on the waiting list <I guess>, as well as the other teams who posted their requests on this thread.
-
I was Xtreme Raze in the pictures LOL
-
I doubt you'll get one, because it's been 2 days since our petitions were sent. None of the team members got any response nor acknowledgement that the petition was received. I've sent a petition irrelevant to the issue just yesterday and got a response right away. Either they're ignoring all petitions related to this issue or all 8 of us are just conspiracy theorists! If you do get a response, please tell them a team on Liberty are still awaiting on responses!
