    I'm ok with that.

But it was the forced online gaming that was the most surreal part of his imprisonment. The hard slog may have been virtual, but the punishment for falling behind was real.

"If I couldn't complete my work quota, they would punish me physically. They would make me stand with my hands raised in the air and after I returned to my dormitory they would beat me with plastic pipes. We kept playing until we could barely see things," he said
Agreed, Chaos. That sounds like so much fun.

But I'm expecting this to be a Merits+Inf thing, as it's FAR easier to assemble large numbers of merits (even Emps) relatively quickly, compared to Alignment Merits.
I'm curious how much items will cost using Empyrean merits, because each time they add a new trial, given that each new trial awards an Empyrean merit upon completion, it'll reduce the time investment by a significant amount. For example, if a given recipe costs 30 Emyprean merits, today it would take 15 days to get the merits to acquire it, give or take a few. With Keyes Island in the mix, it would take 10, with a fourth trial, a little over a week.

Increasing the Empyrean merit costs to compensate would be a bad idea, and capping the number of Empyrean merits you can earn in a day would be inconsistent with the current reward merit design philosophy of encouraging players to participate in multiple different activities to earn merits rather than the single most efficient one.

It'd be interesting if they used an adjusting purchasing mechanic that doesn't use a set merit cost for each item. You'd have to pay at least one Empyrean merit for an item, but the inf cost would be reduced with each additional Empyrean merit you offer up, reducing the cost to a minimum amount (but not to zero). Empyrean merits would act as stacking coupons, reducing (but not eliminating) the inf price of the item you want to buy. This way items would cost time and money, but you'd be able to decide in what ratio.

This would still have the time investment problem of straight-up Empyrean merit purchases, but I thought it was a neat idea. We'll just have to wait and see.

    i20.5 Details

I'm impressed. I thought I20.5 would be pretty much just Keyes Island. Also nice to see those Incarnate costume pieces that were teased a while back.
  4. Wow. Lots of very fantastic stuff. Lots and lots of new Lore pets, new costumes, stuff to do with the new merits, a new trial, new auras, and this isn't even a full issue.
  5. Good episode. Tyrion was hilarious and Viserys got what he deserved.
  6. Too much retcon: midichlorians.

Pretty sure I saw some blood on her gloves after she was shot. They won't kill her off, but she'll be comatose until the September season premiere. At the end of the second season Castle went off to his place in the Hampton's to finish his book and came back in the fall, so I think they'll maintain the 'real time' aspect.

I had the UI off, but he was an AR/Dev Blaster.

    The Return...

Long time no see, Meph! Welcome back!
  11. Your thoughts.

    My thoughts:

    Holy ****.
  12. I think the decline of Hami raids was inevitable. It's not anyone's fault, least of all the people who step up to lead them. Combine burnout with new stuff to do in I20 (stuff that requires quite a bit of time investment) and given that the rewards of a Hamidon raid don't do much if you're going for the new slots, it was only a matter of time before they fell out of favor. It becomes a negative feedback loop: the raids will fail (or attendance will fall below the minimum threshold for success) because fewer people want to do them, and fewer people will want to do them if they think they're going to fail. I doubt Hami raiding is gone for good. At some point the devs might revisit it, give it the kinda treatment they've given the new trials (and maybe, just maybe, give us a hint at what their intended method was for taking him down).
  13. Well, that was craziness. I missed a lot of the event due to a dental appointment, but I got quite a few good screenshots.

    I especially like this one:

    "Holy crap, Steel is ******."
  14. I would know nothing of Newsies if it weren't for the fact that my brother absolutely loves it (and he's got himself a wife so that rules out the most logical reason). Some of the songs are catchy I guess, but other than baby Christian Bale and Bill Pullman attempting to sing it's not much to write home about.
  15. Well now you've got me all curious.

My experience with the launcher has been the opposite. Downloading and patching have been much faster than the old launcher.
  17. Personally I avoid spoilers. My favorite part of watching a movie or a TV show is being surprised by a plot twist or sudden revelation. There's that moment when the puzzle pieces in your head all come together and you see the big picture, and you only get that feeling once. They're called 'spoilers' for a reason; for me, they spoil the experience.
  18. First thing that springs to mind VFX-wise is that Hasten and Super Speed are bright and ugly. I would kill for a no-fx option for those two powers.

In terms of auras, I would like to see a "Left eye/right eye" option for the ones we have. This way, characters that have an eyepatch or monocle can have one glowing eye. We have left and right hand only auras, so that's a precedent.

This statement is a load of ****. Most trials I've been on, instructions were given right before we started a particular phase and the raids were completed successfully.
