Apparently, Brawl no longer costs END to use. I may not be reading this right, but if I am this will certainly make low-level Bruting easier.

Quote:This is unfair in the same way that it is unfair that I am not being paid millions of dollars by someone...at some point.I really find it unfair how it's impossible to use any of those programs on Mac. I'm not asking anyone to make alternative ways (Though it'd be nice), but all I'm saying is that there needs to be some kind of Mac program made that will let you do all that, at SOME point. Not saying soon, not saying now... just, at some point.
Anyone else agree that we should get some alternative way some time/have this problem? -

Not to sound like sour grapes here, but this has been very poorly handled.
First, we're told that the big 5th anniversary is going to coincide with the next issue release. So everyone expects something pretty significant.
Let's face it, i14 was MA and nothing else. So if you were one that didn't really get into writing your own storyarcs, or filtering through the mass of "meh" created content to find the few really nice ones, there was nothing there for you. So i15 should be something very nice, including not only some new content, but perhaps a new zone, powerset proliferation, etc.
Then we get the overview notes, and it's nothing more than a single TF/SF (although a very nice one, bringing back the 5th Column), a few costume/character design things, and a bunch of bug fixes from i14. I'm sorry, but that is NOT the level of content we've come to expect with a new issue release--especially since the new creative team took over.
Then the release didn't coincide with the 5th anniversary...unless you count possibly hitting in the same month as coinciding. So not only were some folks underwhelmed by the content, it was late to boot.
So now they actually try to put it on open beta, and are currently 2 hours over their own estimation. Granted, technical things can happen. But come on....for the little bit of content and vid fixes, there's no way it should take that much longer.
Add in that the only thing we've heard about coming down the pike is an expansion that we'll have to pay for (and nothing about what may be coming in the next REAL issue), and it's a very disappointing day all the way around.
Sorry this is so pessimistic, but I've come to expect better from the current creative team. This whole thing has a slapdash, disorganized feel to it that I've not seen since Statesman left.

When you get your own MMO, you can set the development priorities and say what should and should not be in each release.
Oh, and nerdangst FTL. -
Thanks for the responses, all! I'll get there one way or another.

Hi all,
I have an AR/Dark into the 40s, and I'd like to get that fun Nemesis rifle, but I'm really not sure where to find Fake Nems for the badge. I have Ghost Widow as my patron, so the ones in the Black Scorpion arc are not as available. Any suggestions? -
Count me as a fan of the 60 month badge as well. It almost doesn't matter to me what the 57 month badge is if that's what comes after!

I'm happy to finally get a chance to play my favorite computer game natively on my MacBook pro.
One bit of feedback: the field that we are supposed to fill out with our hardware is extremely limited in character numbers. You should tell people exactly how much space they have and which hardware exactly you want detailed.
I had to keep deleting information until my post went through, but I didn't want to disqualify myself for not having given the correct specs you were looking for. I think a tweak of the instructional copy on that page is in order. -

Heck, I'll just be happy if it lets us create villain-side missions with Red Caps so we can get the badge without having to wait for special events. -

I don't know who decided that fit the definiton of "thanks," since that's a slap in the face.

Sweet! I was afraid we were going to hit 50 pages without a 'slap in the face' comment. Glad to see I was worrying for naught.
I think the announcement is good news. The pace of change in the game has picked up markedly in the past year, and hopefully this will just further the momentum. Glad to see the development team is staying intact! This is the only game out of many that has kept me coming back year after year. -
This is a wonderful addition to a wonderful Issue. I think it strikes the perfect balance.

Here's another quick question. For things like Cloak of Fear, the proc won't go off unless the pbaoe 'hits' the mob first right? So for example if you have the psi damage proc in it, you need to hit the mob with fear, then it checks to see if the proc goes off?

As much as I think the way in which ED was introduced was inexcusably inept, I think the concept is good in that it frees up slots overall. So I think it *will* have the effect of increasing the diversity of how things are slotted. Some players may have the same 3 powers but one 6 slots all of them with 1 accuracy/3 damage/2 end while someone else may choose to boost the secondary and someone else may double slot accuracy (or triple slot it in the case of AE attacks, who knows?); others will choose to 4 slot the power so they can take other powers, etc. etc. etc.
I also think it frees some folks from the tyranny of Hasten and Stamina. No one was holding a gun to anyone's head, but boy if you were missing one of those powers people would just act like you had a hole in your head (my spines scrapper never had and never will have hasten and I cannot tell you how many 'helpful' comments I got recommending I take it).
As to the downside, the effect on tankers and defensive sets grates on my nerves. And the way in which it was introduced and the subsequent spin has significantly eroded my respect for the devs. So badly in fact that as far as I'm concerned CoH is dead to me -- I'm just pretending it doesn't exist anymore and I'm a little sorry they de-coupled the fee structure so I could cancel my CoH account to play CoV alone. -
Yea, CoH has pretty much ruined me for other games. And this is coming from a diehard DAoC fan, mind you. Simply put, CoH appeals to the control freak in me
I hate not having control over what my character wears. I hate being at the mercy of others for crafting for my character's effectiveness and/or camping for loot. This is not to say these are bad things, I just find I have less time and patience for doing them. Every time I think I'm ready to head back to one of those 'harder' games, I just get annoyed at all the busywork. As angry as I am about how ED was handled, I find there are no other games out there that really interest me, dammit.
