I don't think anything is broken here, and temp powers aren't SUPPOSED to be as good as the regular ones.
Also /unsigned. -
Yes, in favor of more uses for Vanguard Merits.
Really not in favor at all of "buying" regular merits with them. And I'd be willing to bet a lot that neither are the Devs. -
Quote:Not me! I voted to kill him because I despised the little snot and wanted him to go away forever!
AzureSkyCiel paints with a broad brush:
Lemme put it to you think way, Jason Todd was killed off on a vote that the readers honestly didn't think the writers would go through.
Turns out forever isn't as long as it used to be... -
Quote:I played for years with the pictures looking better than my actual game experience. Didn't make me sad, just made me want to get a better rig.
Force_Encephalon doesn't see the draw:
No, because the people who haven't upgraded their rigs will be sad because they'll see all the pretty load screens but not be able to play in the pretty pictures.
But then, as often noted, I'm kind of weird and not the "normal" player. -
Quote:You are convinced incorrectly.
Samuel_Tow doesn't take advice:
I'm well aware what literal means. I'm also very convinced that I can use it in this context.
Quote:I'm not speaking figuratively in the sense that it's so bad it's like I didn't see anything. The video is NOT bad. It's just the next best thing to empty. And again - it shows us nothing. Yes, people have tried to explain what it shows, I just happen to disagree that it shows any of these things in a meaningful way.
A video's point is to show us stuff. This does not, hence it's nothing. Literally nothing. You can keep on insisting on semantics argument, or you can accept it as the exaggeration it was intended to be.
Quote:And now I'm suddenly reminded of Spoony's review of the Wing Commander movie where he says "No-one saw this movie because it sucks!" I wonder if I should e-mail him saying he's either using the word "no-one" or the word "saw" wrong... -
Quote:By giving ideas that aren't currently being done? If they're working on it already, you merely get your wish!
fatalnova questions:
how can we give ideas when we dont know what is already going on behind the scenes. -
Quote:Anything becomes annoying after too much repetition (I still twitch every time I hear "Free Bird"). And I usually turn the music off on video games (it's generally hideous and draws my attention away from what I'm doing). There's just small enough of an amount in CoH that I only turn it down a lot, and not off.
EyeSlit wonders:
When you go back and play a game from the past, do you turn the sound off? Is it annoying? Good music doesn't become annoying, and if it does, just turn it off. Seriously, you do have that option. -
Quote:This would only cause me to turn the music off completely, like I do with most video games.
Samuel_Tow wants ambiance:
We need mood music, and mood music does not just play a clip then end. It plays on a loop, giving a location or an event the proper ambience. -
No offense to Black Pebble, but marketing shouldn't be allowed within 100 yards of actual content. ESPECIALLY not someone else's marketers.
-
When you throw a boomerang that doesn't come back, it gets downgraded to "stick".
-
Maybe the mysterious person just happened to have some bad shrimp for lunch?
-
No, but effectively costing $5 less AND still getting the extra goodies beats it for me, though.
-
I was merely commenting on the coal comment, not trying to make it make actual SENSE.

Quote:My play style is far more affected by who the character is than who I am. This becomes particularly noticible when I'm playing my Krazy Killer Klown with Klaws, Cut-Up or my Impulse knock-off called Headlong.
RobertoLyon wants play-style:
For me I've found that I play buff- and heal-heavy Defenders and Controllers because they fit well with the "heroic" aspect that drew me to this game in the first place.
Sometimes I need to bring out one of my Blasters after a rough day at work, rough commute, fight with the gf, etc.
But I find that the "care-bear" aspect of buffing and healing matches up pretty well with who I am in RL - I'll always stop to help a confused-looking tourist...just TODAY I found a Blackberry on the subway and made sure it got back to its rightful owner (not the first time I've done this)... I'll give give my seat on the subway to seniors, pregnant ladies, disabled, etc...
Wondering if the same holds true across the board.
Quote:If you've got alt-itis - would you by any chance be a hoarder in real life? -
Quote:Yes, actually, you are.
Samuel_Tow is from elsewhere:
No, I'm not.
Quote:You could turn it into a semantic argument, but it doesn't change the fact that this movie is quite literally nothing.
lit·er·al
/ˈlɪtərəl/–adjective
1. in accordance with, involving, or being the primary or strict meaning of the word or words; not figurative or metaphorical: the literal meaning of a word.
2. following the words of the original very closely and exactly: a literal translation of Goethe.
3. true to fact; not exaggerated; actual or factual: a literal description of conditions.
4. being actually such, without exaggeration or inaccuracy: the literal extermination of a city.
5. (of persons) tending to construe words in the strict sense or in an unimaginative way; matter-of-fact; prosaic. -
Quote:Well duh. YEAH!
Samuel_Tow shouldn't pretend to be new:
Really, I get that it's "something new," but are we really THAT desperate for more Going Rogue stuff that we'll jump at what is literally and figuratively NOTHING?
And that shouldn't surprise you a bit. -
Quote:As another poster mentioned, I live in the city. Car horns quickly get relegated to the "I don't even hear them any more" region.
RobertoLyon needs to get urban:
Wait until you have to stand in the traffic circle with Ghost Falcon on P.I. for a half-hour upgrading all your expired Enhancements.
Won't be a-gigglin' then, I betcha.

Hee, well technically, no matter what you use to heat the water, it's still steam power. You could heat the water with a nuclear reactor and it'd still be powered by steam. The heating part doesn't have to be archaic (although it's hardly efficient).

Quote:On the other hand, kids DO grow up rather fast on the streets. But, '79 is more logical and probably more accurate.
Aggelakis is probably right:
I changed the date in the wiki to 1979. The more I thought about it, the fewer reasons I could find to leave it at 1972. Michael White was twelve then, for goodness' sake. -
I can't ever find any even in the U.S. Sure, there's places that they SAY have game cards, but they've never actually had any in my area that I could find when I went looking.

Quote:As is your right, Señor Quixote. **holds out lance** Windmill's over there.
MunkiLord is succinct:
I disagree. -
Nah, it should be done because it's a classic comic staple. But it should only be done once.
