Notice my edit. I haven't touched my sig, so I'm not sure how it happened, but I'll be working on that for the next however-long-it-takes.

Evil Geko?
No, I say, Evil Genius.
Thanks.
EDIT: HOLY MOSES what happened to my signature? -

Cake, always add endurance reduction to your attacks before you add damage increases on a brute.
The ability to keep attacking and build fury far outweighs the amount of damage you gain from the damage enhancement. -
I have mine, which will be posted with the guide. But it's bloody expensive and maxed all to hell.
To take out an AV you really don't need that. Let me give you the important parts, though.
Provoke
One damage dealing attack, even if it's just Nemesis Staff
All robots and upgrades
Acid Mortar, Poison Gas Trap
Force Field Generator
Scorpion Shield or Frozen Shield
This much puts you at 45% defense to S/L, making you more than survivable enough, and provides the offensive tools required to tackle AVs.
Now add:
Two Defense IOs in Protector Bots
Maneuvers
+5% defense for henchmen IO
That will cap most of your bots to everything but psionics. This really reduces the AoE damage they take on normal missions and such, or accidental AV AoE damage if you can't keep them sitting still for a while. -
Nah, that's pretty much the most important part. I'm in the process of writing a guide for Big Game hunting with a Bots/Traps.
The AI can be difficult, but with enough micromanagement, they'll stay put. Bodyguard range is the same as Supremacy range, which I believe is sixty feet. I know that I can keep my bots on one fringe of a Triage beacon while I stand on the other side and bodyguard is still active. -
Try using the Community Digest to filter through and see just Zwillinger's responses.
From what I can tell, MARTy kicks somewhere above the rate of someone soloing +4/x8 mobs at a normal pace. It seems that the ambush farms, when set at +4/x8 and cleared in about 2 minutes, are exceeding the threshold for MARTy to "turn on." -
So you can leverage bodyguard mode.
When your pets are in defensive/follow, /goto, or /stay, and in range of supremacy, you will share damage with your pets. You take two shares of damage while each henchman takes one share.
Example: 1000 point attack hits you in bodyguard mode. It gets split into 8 parts, each 125 damage. Each of your six henchmen will take 125 damage and you will take 250.
This doesn't work in reverse, though, so you have to keep the enemies from hitting your henchmen. Thus, Provoke. -
TA gets a bad reputation that it doesn't deserve. There's no buffs or healing arrow to be had, but the debuffs, control, and damage it can bring is undeniable.
Thugs/thermal is an odd pairing. You add resistance to the pets that are heavy on defense. Unfortunately, two half measures are not as good as one full measure because of the way mitigation works. I'm not saying it will be bad, mind you. Thermal is quite the strong set, and you'll be able to Forge at least three heavy damaging henchmen all the time.
Bots/Traps is a beast all its own, and really doesn't compare to anything. It's got some crazy synergy. I've got a guide in the works for it, but it's not what you'd expect. I'm only going to cover the Big Game Hunting aspect of Bots/Traps, because nothing else is hard to do with it. -
I miss the +rep buttons when stuff like this comes along.

I left my launcher running while I'm at work. It'll download and apply all its own.

Quote:Thanks very much for the update. I feel like I have to mention that this follows my predictions perfectly, but it is only the first week. My predictions were also only based on the draft picks, and there's a lot more at play here than that.Foster City Stealth (Positron) 104
SF RabidChihuahuas (Crosscheck) 129
Team Robo Dominato (Giant Monster) 82
Pacific Outsiders (Friend of Studio) 74
St. Martial Pai Gow (Alpha Wolf) 102
Los Gatos Bastardos (Clockwork 01) 85
Philadelphia Stars (Skippy Sidekick) 99
Fremont Traffic Jam (Zwillinger) 84
Quote:Yup, I lost Week 1 with the SECOND highest score of the week. The only team that could have beaten me was... the one I played against.
Quote:Lots of scores in the 80's (or less), so my performance in week one bodes well for the rest of the season.
Unfortunately, with that much influence on your team, I have to put my hopes against you. I'll pay it out for certain, but I won't like it one bit.
... I think I'll also adjust your odds for future bets. Just to be safe.
Quote:I'll stick by my initial prediction and back Giant Monster to the tune of 100m Inf. I'll send it to your main, which I'm assuming is @Dechs Kaison (please correct me if I'm wrong).
Good luck to you, and everyone else that's playing. -

Quote:You can solo AVs on SOs alone with Bots/Traps.Can i level a Robot/trap mm,
and solo av/gm at a fairly low expense or am i going to be spending quite a bit of money on him?
All you really need is [Provoke] and one of the two defensive shields. Webnade helps a lot by keeping them immobile too. -
They have automated methods of detecting certain patterns that look like RMTers or fraud. Have you tried contacting support? It's likely they'd work through this to unlock you.

Quote:Looking back at it, yeah... The debuffs last 30 seconds, so it's the same story as Lingering Radiation or Sonic Siphon.Clicky....?
I do recall feeling that when I played my Ninja mastermind with Poison. Played him from beta on.... and the 'clicky' part was just healing those stupid ninjas.
I think I might do /Poison, to be truthful. I've got another concept that also works with that. -
poi·son
noun 1. a substance with an inherent property that tends to destroy life or impair health.
Sounds like the right use to me.
