I read the title, the first sentence, and skipped to the actual question at the end. It sounded enough like whining to throw out the usual response. Judging a character's final performance by how it behaves at level 22 is absurd.

The most awesome thing about the new Fiery Embrace is how it can buff your damage beyond the damage cap.

I'm planning on not using it if I can avoid it, but I put in the slots for bonuses and to have them in case I do need it from time to time. I may put one more in there depending on what I do with Power Siphon.
Yeah, not sure where my head was at when I said that stuff. I meant to say four slots of Reactive Armor is all I use.

I don't know how I missed Weave being slotted so heavily, but I somehow thought it had the same slotting as Cloak of Darkness.

My DA/Fire build is back a few pages, but you can use that as a reference. I use LOTG sets for my defensive toggles to get both accuracy and global recharge. It has enough recovery to tank, but I know I can burn myself out if I go full bore with AoEs. As a scrapper, that's probably not desirable. You want to be able to use your best attack chain all the time.

I think that's why I can't make awesome scrappers/brutes. I try to build them like tanks and get upset when they're squishier than tanks and don't even hit that much harder.

In a way. Again, Kheldians are beings of light and energy. I see the nictus as vampiric versions of the "natural" Kheldians, who thrive off of other energy sources.

Not so much recycling as... eating.

I always explain this away as warshades having the ability to rip the energy out of anything and put it to good use.

Technically, you can start as a Praetorian mastermind who goes heroic, and never be a villain.

While I'm here, I'd like to add one more thought. Powers are not inherently good or evil. The user is what decides that.

    It's a game.

    Really though?
Thugs: The gang is takin' back the streets, yo!
Bots: They do as their told.
Mercs: Hey, good guys pay for wetwork too.
Zombies: So necromancy is frowned upon. Doesn't make it a less legitimate tactic for fighting crime. Diablo had a necromancer saving the world.
Demons: See above. Demons can be enslaved by a good master and forced to do heroic works.
Ninjas: See above above. Ninjas are good at killing things. Make them kill bad guys and suddenly they become good guys.
  10. I can't verify right now, but I'm pretty sure they meant additional useless text that shows up in the combat logs has been removed.

    I wouldn't worry about it.

One more note: Not even the stealth suppresses. You can attack and be attacked and still be sneaky. The only thing I'm aware of that suppresses the Cloak of Darkness stealth is clicking a glowie. Even then, your defense stays.

I've had some time to look at it, although I don't have Mids with me now.

Gaussians is a waste. Six slots to gain 1.25% S/L? No. You don't want that. Put two slots of the level 20 set (can't remember the name) that gives you 1.88% S/L and one more slot of recharge. Done.

Health has the Numina's unique. If you really want more recovery, slot the Miracle unique here. You lose out on a tiny bit of regen for a tiny bit of recovery.

Back to Dark Regen, use one of the Gaussian's slots here to put your chance for endurance proc. Ten targets, ten chances to get ten endurance. I've used this to fill both of my bars.

I'd only use four slots of Reactive Armor. The last end reduc can't be doing that much for you, but I can't remember what the last bonus is, so I could be wrong.

Put some of your saved slots into Cloak of Darkness and Weave. Weave could use more end reduction.

The aggro management and tightly packed groups let any team do whatever they do more efficiently and more safely.
    So very much this.

I have three main characters. A tank, a warshade, and a bots/traps mastermind. All are self sufficient. All are able to solo an entire TF minus the AVs (Well, the mastermind could if I tried hard enough).

Only the tank can actually carry a struggling team.

I've said it before. I enjoy my tank most because he makes everyone else on the team feel awesome.

Unfortunately, on support heavy teams, no one is more boring or useless than my tank.

That's nothing. I know an all blaster team has completed an MoSTF.
  14. The softcap you keep hearing about is only in regards to defense. The term is used to talk about a point of defense where you can add more, but there is no benefit to doing so. Enemies have 50% chance to hit us, and they will always have a minimum of 5% chance. Anything defense over 45%, then, is wasted.

But PhroX sums it up very well when he says each percent of defense or resistance does more than the percent it builds on.

The last 5% of defense does as much for you as the first 40%.

The last 10% of resistance does as much for you as the first 80%.

That's why I suggested my guide. I spend about an even amount of time in each form. If anything, I spend most of it in human. The guide itself is very freeform, allowing for all kinds of adaptation, and I've gotten a lot of good feedback from it.

I'm sure it'll answer whatever questions you might come up with. If not, ask 'em and I'll certainly get back to you!

I don't have time to analyze the build right now, but at a glance I notice that you don't have the Theft of Essence chance for +endurance in Dark Regeneration. You definitely want that.

Paragon Studios should totally look into doing something like that.
    Totally 9,001% agree with this.

Why haven't they done something like... oh wait... Oh... HAHAHAHAHA I GET IT! THAT'S FUNNY RIGHT THERE!

Are you absolutely sure? They won't affect your regen %, but mouse over the value and you should see the HP/sec go up.

I'm going to point you to my guide for "The MFing Warshade." It leans about equally on all forms, but you will still find it a drastically different playstyle than your PB.

The best I've heard as a suggestion along these lines, and I cannot remember who posted it, was a "Battle Cry" power.

It would be like a fury bar that only filled as you were attacked. Once full, the power could be activated like domination. The "Battle Cry" would grant the team +recharge, +regeneration, +recovery, or some other buff or some combination of buffs.

Download the new one and install it fresh. The updater seems to have its quirks that I blame on Windows.

Well, I don't think tankers need any more survivability in the 90% of the game where tankers don't get mezzed. I think tanks should be able to stand out in survivability though, and being able to maintain their survivability through mez would be one thing that makes them stand out.

The cases where tankers get mezzed: Ghost Widow, Reichsman, PvP.

This is pretty much the only one I've got, at least that I can think of, although I do extend it to the other ATs. My elec melee is a stalker. My dark armor is a tank. My energy blast is a blaster and my dual pistols is a defender.
  25. My other suggestion for a tanker buff was to make Tanker primary powers not suppress when mezzed. Maybe tough and weave would suppress, but not my primary toggles.
