Quote:Invuln is now an extremely solid set. Still weak against psi (obviously), but side from that it has no holes, and is very strong against smash/lethal. Once you get stamina, tough hide, and invincibility, your opinion of invuln will change drastically.Oh mee, why do I ask questions on the forum when I have to scoot my boots to work within minutes.....
Anyways, I have a new scrapper which has me tearing my hair out by the roots, but despite this, I not only have been playing only her, but I have started Frankenslotting her and even have some recovery bonuses. She is level 19 and I normally do not start doing this until level 25.
She is a Fire/Invul who laps up Endurance like it was water.
I have everything slotted with endurance reducers, and I still have end problems, and I guess I will until I get lots more slots.
My question is I have heard such bad things about Invul, is she going to be ok in the higher levels? By ok, I mean will she be able to defeat most critters. PVE no PVP. And she is a soloer.
I made an invul scrap because I don't have one. Because I heard bad things about it, I paired it with Fire which is a primary which has always done me right.
And I am running out of time. If anyone has any tips for me such as what enemies I should be gunning for, and which enemies I should avoid, please share.
Thanks so much.
Lisa-If you see a Fire/Invul named Christmas Cookies running about on Infinity..that is me -
I know Nihili was able to defeat 9 AVs at once, which I believe is the current record on any toon (not 100% positive). Not on this exact build obviously, but most DM/invuln builds are extremely similar.

When I said I prefer WP/invince b/c they do not require as many outside buffs to work, I was referring to level 50. Any scrapper is going to have a difficult time tanking w/o insps/buffs at lvl 22. I realize my wording was a bit confusing so I apologize for that.

I would like to host an SO enhancement only PvP contest. Not sure when exactly but I am all for co-hosting it with PvPEC.

Quote:Well, not to start an argument, but now I feel I have to defend my case.
Shield being defense based, it stacks very well with team buffs/debuffs and inspirations ; these same inspirations rain from the sky seeing how fast Shield scrappers can kill stuff. The resistances / max HP aren't too shabby if you slot for it as well. AaO is also a great aggro aura, making the toon capable to tank for teams on SOs.
I did just that the whole weekend (with the exception of a steadfast +3 def, everything was common IOs), either on PuGs or soloing, so I know it works.
Well, I find it hard to believe anyone could tank with only genric IOs and no inspirations (and a steadfast). Even with that, and some pool picks to raise defense you're still looking at around 30% defense. With 1 luck running all the time, I am sure tanking was an easy feat. However, I prefer using sets like WP and invuln that do not require inspirations to tank. -
If I win again, are people gonna get really pissy about it again?

Quote:Oh I didn't know about the EM pulse. I always thought power surge was just a typical godmode like unstoppable that gives you capped resistancesPower Surge accepts hold and resistance IO sets. When Power Surge fades, it generates an EM Pulse centered on you right as you crash. This causes -regen, -end, energy damage to electronic targets, and a rather substantial hold (mag 3 w/ 50% chance for 1 mag, 22.35 sec duration). Because of this hold, it's possible to slot Power Surge with hold sets. Nifty, huh?

Quote:Not to just shaft Nihili here, but I wouldn't suggest shields. It blooms very late which makes it difficult to resist the urge to delete it. I've also found it to be a bit squishy for my liking, until it is totally IO'd out and at the softcap. I also don't like that you pretty much have to take every power in the set, and it doesn't leave much room for power pools. If you have a scrapper that can handle staying in the middle of a mob of 25 +8 enemies for five minutes, I'm afraid my game knowledge isn't enough to know of anything better or even equal, performance wise.
Nonetheless, I think you should try shield scrappers. I could go ahead and list their numerous strengthes, but "it's fun" sums up the whole thing (especially Shield Charge) pretty well.
Having said all this, I would suggest you make a Katana/Invuln. Excellent survivability when DA is stacked with Invuln's defense levels, good AoE damage, good ST damage, and it blooms early so it'll be fun for all 50 levels. -
Lockdowns? Isn't that a hold set? How are you able to put that in power surge?

FYI you want to post using php/zeta boards forums....or just export the data chunk only, which is what I do.

Also export the data chunk next time. I personally find that much easier.

Quote:It's not possible to run that chain without setsIf I am reading correctly you want to use common invention enhancements and no sets? If so I'm not sure it'd be possible to achieve that attack chain without Hasten. I'd keep looking at sets, there are some cheap sets that are cheaper than common enhancements, Multistrike being one of them, that provide some positional defense.

Very nice. I hope you don't mind if I steal this for my BS/WP

Well, he IS asking someone only to post a build. He isn't necessarily asking someone to make one. Many players already have fire/mm builds saved and it would take less than 30 seconds to post one. It's not really that ridiculous of a thing to ask. You kind of make it sound as if he is asking someone to give him all the influence for the build.
-
Well perhaps if I leveled one up to your level I could join you? The only reason I'm hesitant to form a trio is because it's harder to get everyone playing at the same time...does gattaca still play? Haven't seen him on in awhile

Quote:I drink whatever they give me at work... probably normal, and yes, I don't like coffee so its always loaded with cream and sugar. My caffeine of choice is either Southern style sweet tea, or Coke... classic for you southern folk
As for point of Origin, I was born in the great white north known as Wisconsin, but returned to the land of my father in the Carolina's been here for 2 years now... yeah I suppose no one actually cares since I'm not a Texan but meh
Yeah go north carolina! -
You may want to consider taking dark epic pool. If you can position yourself to immob the mobs and then hit burn under 'em they'll melt before your eyes.
-
I drink copious amounts of Coke. And occasionally insta-coffee when I go camping or backpacking

I am looking for another person to duo two empathy/sonics with to 50 (preferably though if things go south we can stop). I'd like this person to be able to play a lot on weekends as that is the only time I am able to play. As long as you aren't annoying, you are welcome to join me. It's a very powerful combo for any who didnt already know, so don't worry about lack of damage. PM me or post here if you'd like to join. First come first serve.

(I'm guessing felecia means "by helping her out" she means nobody has teamed, or helped her farm, etc. redside.)
-
Yes, especially at level 32. With minimal slotting it's easy to achieve perma hasten, RA, and AB (obviously fortitude too)
