Well, from what I've tracked, of my current 646 points of rep, 27 of them were gained over a series of seven posts from Raise the Rep. Those all came within 24 hours of each other, then they stopped (except for the last one that JUST CAME IN). (I still get neutral and/or negative rep points from that thread since that date, but no positive.) The other points stem from a variety of other threads... I neglected to keep track of the negative rep point values, though. Damn - sloppy research on my part.
Of the last 20 I've gotten, 3 are negative, 4 are neutral, and 13 are positive. And that's without turning off the rep meter since we first migrated to the new forums.
PK and I have the same number of bars (and the same title associated with it, so we are presumably in the same bracket). But given PK's rather prolific posting, he's probably accumulated larger amounts of both positive and negative rep, and the balance just happens to be the same.
There's a sociology paper in this, somewhere. Maybe whatshisface who wrote about griefing in PvP could do another article on this.

PS - Interesting. After deleting that post, any rep I got for it (positive or negative) now shows N/A in the Post column. I'd have thought that if you deleted the post, you'd also lose the rep +/-, but I guess not. Maybe the system takes time to update... I'll check again in a couple of hours and see if my rep score has adjusted for the post deletion. -

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I seem to have the same problem that I do with playing Chess. Strong opening, flounder around in the middle game, and then everything kind of falls apart where I occasionally get lucky.

If memory serves, this came out of a player request to BAB to please re-organize them... the players gave BAB a (supposedly) comprehensive list of all the emotes (including the ones NOT on the menu but that you could do if you knew them) and then the menu got updated.

Thanks very much for the compliment, Pyro... your base looks quite spiffy! (As does Leiter's!) I'm getting ideas for the shots I want - at least the ones that can be shot in a base, that is... others I need specific mission maps for, which means it's either off to the MA or doing the arc if the map's not available.
I will definitely keep yours in mind!

One is a very mystical, dark magic, almost demonic base.
The other a very high tech, black ops, military-looking base.
I've got characters (or can create them if necessary), and am willing to work around folks' schedules.
If your SG or VG has a base that meets one of these looks, and you're willing to let me into the base long enough to film, please post a link to a couple of pictures of your base, and state your global, the SG or VG name, and the server name. I should be able to complete the filming in an hour or less, and will be happy to credit your SG/VG in the video's end credits.
Suggestions will be accepted through August 31st, 2009.

Mine is my own personal noob moment... shortly after I started playing the game, I was making my tentative way around Steel Canyon when I come out of a mission, go running around a corner, and see this... THING... running down the street toward me that I'd never seen before.
Over the broadcast I say, "Wow, I've never seen one of these before." Someone else asks, "What is it?"
As I click on it to find out what it is, I realize to my chagrin that I still have an attack autokeyed, and I promptly take a swing at it... and get smacked one inch from oblivion. As I do the belated but sensible thing and run like hell, screaming the entire way, I shout "WHAT THE HELL IS A COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER?!"
Just as I get blasted out of my shoes.
Lying facedown on the sidewalk, I realize that I, a lowly lvl 12 blaster, have just charged a lvl 42 Rikti Communications Officer (someone else's ambush), as gales of laughter fill the broadcast, and a sheepish message makes its way through the LOLs, "sorry, that was my ambush".

My husband has just chimed in across the desk agreeing with the idea of making a "Things Every CoH Player Should Know" video. (However, he suggested starting it with a player coming out of the AE building, stopping, immediately doing the /cower emote with the text bubble "AAAAGGGGHHHHHHH!!!! DAYLIGHT!!!!!!! AAAAAGHHHHH!!!!" and then promptly dashing back inside.)
I like the idea of "which trams go where", "follow the beacon," "how to run when SB'd", and so on. "Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about COH But Were Afraid to Ask."

In the last 3 months, I've noticed a sharp upswing in YouTube PMs and comments on my trailers asking "how do u get there" or "how do i get that" or "where is that?" (They are, in fact, referring to places like Cimerora or Ouroborous, or getting stuff like the Epic Archetypes or Roman armor. For some reason, my I-12 trailer gets the most of these.)
I'm wondering if this is yet another side effect of people only playing the AE content and skipping the regular stuff.
Maybe I should put a link in at the end of each video pointing to the ParagonWiki. Hmmmmm...
Still, I keep telling them when they ask...

On the other hand, Sean Fish might like the idea of one of HIS signature characters not only getting some, but also ragging on Positron the entire time... it's a matter of seniority.
2) If more players join because of the videos, that means more money from subscriptions, and booster packs, and them referring other friends... which means more money to upgrade the servers. Problem solved.
3) To resolve the confusion of the naming issue, and in keeping with developers taking on names of signature NPCs, in the (horrendously) unlikely event that I ascend to devhood, I hereby claim the redname AmandaVimes. It's either that, or Dark_Redspite, which really doesn't have quite the same ring to it.
