For the few, the proud, and the loyal, this one's for you guys. I just hope you like it.
As usual, it's on YouTube (meh rez) and my website (high rez). Please no direct linking to the high rez version - point people to the Samuraiko.com site instead. (And note - it's just Samuraiko.com... SamuraikoProductions.com has been revamped and is now my professional site.)

I came in after the Hami raids were changed, so I've never done the old versions. The new ones, for me at least, have been great fun (I run with the blueside Justice group), since it seems that every time we do it, someone comes up with a variant or something goofy to try. And there's usually much cheerful yammering in broadcast, which is generally entertaining in and of itself.
I think a lot of it has to do with mindset. If you go in determined to be bored, you'll be bored. If you go in all gung-ho (with a group of folks willing to indulge you), you can have a blast. (Like the folks on... Virtue, I think it was, who decided to run a seven-minute Hami raid... thanks to calling in nukes.)
I go in to have fun... it's a GREAT way to get the healing badges (and damage badges, and debt badges), and the merits don't hurt either.

Yes, you can.
That's how I made Atlas in my 5th Anniversary video.

The relevant line is the first:
0 2696 COSTUME 4 465793 3457.804581 -0.613291 0.000000 -0.306646 -0.537206 -0.647483 -0.630037 0.020000 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 -1.000000 -1.000000 -0.000453 0.006804 -0.025850 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 -1.000000 -1.000000 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000
These are all your scales. The number you want is the sixth one, bolded and italicized above. This is your height. As you can see, this is a drastically larger number than you'd normally get in-game, because this is the "size of the Valor Bridge" version of Atlas. Each increment of 1 is 1", so every 12 you increase this number, that's one foot taller that your character stands.
Best option is to demorecord your character, save a COPY of the file, and then in the copy, start experimenting with the height.

Yes, he'd make a fantastic Mr. Bocor.

Quote:Not like that, Maleficent. The sepia-tone changes when doing flashback missions is natural, and has been part of the game since I-11 came out."Did have to wonder why the graphics occasionally went all grey (not unlike being in Dark Astoria, actually), even with my graphics settings maxed out as usual."
I also have experienced my graphics going all gray, but it was during flashback missions. It happens when I first step on the map, and then again as soon as the mission requirements have been met. I figured it was a new feature they were trying out?
It turns out that it happened whenever Lord Winter phased out, which was graphically represented by the world greying out, which a lot of people have complained about.

Quote:Oh that's easy.Just doubled-back and re-read this. Yes, yes I could see John Vickey in the role. His Neroon was one of the great highlights of Babylon 5.

That's easy...
Back Alley Brawler is (in my head) voiced by Bob Carter, who voices Katayama Gorobei in SAMURAI 7, and the SO Commander in KIDDY GRADE.
Lord Recluse is voiced by the late great Mike Kleinhenz, especially his performance as Lucifer in LADY DEATH.
Oh yeah, forgot one. Mender Silos is voiced by John Vickey, who I loved as Neroon in BABYLON 5.

Quote:Do you have any idea how much time Dark Respite spent learning how to get characters to walk in videos??? And here you just do a "quick and dirty capture"! Something just ain't right about this. Maybe DR should be given exclusive access to the power for a couple of weeks before the rest of us get it.Quote:Hey, I didn't put it to the tune of "Pretty Woman," I know that DR has exclusive rights to that.
Besides, I can't ALWAYS be the one documenting stuff about this game. Other folks can step in every now and again.

Good fun on the Winter Event, and it's not the same map we're used to for the whole "Rescue Baby New Year" thing. This is Croatoa frozen over right behind the tram, over on the big hill.
Smacking around Frostlings, Blights, and Snow Beasts in the Winter Realm gives you Candy Canes as well, it seems.
Did have to wonder why the graphics occasionally went all grey (not unlike being in Dark Astoria, actually), even with my graphics settings maxed out as usual.
Other amusing notes - new emote that can be purchased for candy canes at the Ski Chalet - /em snowflakes - you toss snowflakes in the air to a soft jingling bells sound. Pretty.
New badge - Festive (for logging in during the event). As usual, you can buy the earlier holiday event badges for candy canes in the Ski Chalet.
New amusement - you can now WALK down the ski slope (at roughly 4x normal speed), and it seems there's now a full bar at the bottom of the ski slope, plus Port O Potties!

If you want free, try CamStudio. Scroll about halfway down the page to find the download link.
Caveat - I use FRAPS personally to record (I also paid for my version), but I use CamStudio for stuff that FRAPS won't work with (such as certain browser-based games). It's free, it's fairly easy to use, and you can find additional codecs if you need them.

Quote:Here are the responses from the signature heroes during a Rikti invasion:Today I just felt like poking a bit of fun about CoX. Don't get me wrong I love the game, I just see a few things I think are a wee bit strange and/or funny.
I would be fighting a horde of zombies/rikti in front of Positron and Valkyrie and wonder why they don't jump in to help. Don't they care that one of the city's heroes is being eaten, blasted to oblivion? - "Positron! Help me!" *Positron stares blankly from his pedestal down the street as I take my final breath*
Ms. Liberty: "I'm not fighting Rikti until I can DRAW this damn sword."
Back Alley Brawler: "Sorry, but I stepped off this podium once and then couldn't find my way back to it. Not taking that chance again."
Blue Steel: "They're no challenge. I sneeze and dropships fall out of the sky."
Positron: "All that crap cons grey to me, no XP."
Valkyrie: "What are the Rikti gonna do, kill me? Been there, done that."
Synapse: "Uh, no. Not even with the hospital that close."
Mynx: "Hey, I'm just as capable of fighting Rikti as any of the other- OH LOOK, BUTTERFLIES!"
Citadel: "They're not Council."
Luminary: "I'm not fighting a damn thing til someone figures out my actual gender."
Sister Psyche: "Oh, please, the Rikti don't even invade Independence Port. Why else would I be here? It's not to look at Statesman, that's for sure."
Aurora Borealis: "My husband won't let me."
Statesman: "Sorry, too busy fighting Recluse."
Manticore: "I was distracted, what were you saying?"
Swan: "The Rikti would one-shot me in this outfit."
Numina: "I'm a ghost, what could they possibly do to me?"
Infernal: "I imprisoned my own demon mother inside my axe. Anything after that is rather anticlimactic."
Castle: "Oh, sure. Right. Fight Rikti. No one listens to a damn thing I say, and you want me to fight Rikti. I don't think so."

Couple of questions.
1) Are they all doing the animation at the exact same time?
2) How close together are they going to be? (In other words, can you get a closeup and thus eliminate the need to have multiple folks in the shot?)
3) Are they all doing the same emote?
4) Where are they all going to be? (In midair? On a roughterrained map? Inside a base?)

Quote:Actually... okay, short form answer. Yes, they have professional writers (note the single 't' in the word, please) on staff. Their job is to plumb the depths of the story bible (or else the new internal Wiki that Hero 1 mentioned at the 'con), and come up with new content. Great. Easy. No problem.Ahahahahahahahaa... <gasp> hahahahahahahah...hah... heh... wooo... <snicker><chortle><wheeze>.
DR/Michelle/Sauraiko, would you care to address this one?
And I'm sure they could churn it out quite fast... if they continued to use the same maps and models as they have before.
Which then has people grousing that really it's no different than any other content from before.
Which means a) new models, b) new maps, c) new powers, or d) some combination of a, b, and c.
Which means now BAB and SexyJay have to get in on it (for new models), Ken Morse and the art team and whoever handles world/map design (for new maps), Castle (for new powers, never mind BAB AGAIN if there are new animations involved).
Then there's testing it, QAing it, etc etc etc.
And let's say they try and do something new, so it's NOT just a rescue/click/defeat all? Even more testing, QAing, and so on.
All because one of the professional writers came up with new content.

I did not bampf BAB. (Actually, that sounds rather lewd. Not that Chris isn't an attractive guy, but MrsBAB would rip my head off.) I HUGGED the man quite extensively (it might almost qualify as a glomp from sheer enthusiasm), but I did not bampf him. Bampfing is reserved solely as my forum travel power where I appear because someone mentioned my name in a post that I found interesting.

Yes, BAB, the commenters there are that brutal. If you thought the lines here drawn between the "fanbois" and the "haters" were bad, at Massively, they're worse. It's downright depressing reading them.
Re: the new zones vs revamps, this is what I would love. I would give a great deal for Paragon Studios to hire a small team whose SOLE purpose is to go back and revamp the earlier stuff to bring it up to speed with the later editions - whether it's making ALL the contacts 'phone in' the way the new contacts pop up, reworking earlier missions to give them the 'oomph' that some of the later ones have, and adding new content to underutilized zones (Dark Astoria, Faultline, the Shadow Shard, the Fab, etc).
If I win the $80M Powerball this Saturday, I will fly to PS's offices, and HAND you guys a $2M check to cover the first year's salaries for the folks you'd have to hire. How much would it cost? (I don't know what the writers get paid, or how much it would cost for BAB to get a subordinate or two to help animate the stuff. $50k/year per writer? $60k?)

It's a random cimeroran map. A dead end room with a cross-shaped walkway, and four 'pockets' of water. The two closest to the entrance you can't quite swim in, but the far two, you can swim under the walkway that 'divides' them.
Back when this was first discovered in I-12, apparently pool parties became quite popular in Cimerora.

Before I completely forget my manners (and now that my I-16 trailer is live and you all can go enjoy that), I can get started on THIS project. Wavering between two choices for the tech base, but I think I know who's going to provide my sets for the arcane side.
Decision by the end of this week, hopefully by then I'll be over this damn flu and can focus more than 15 minutes at a time on a project.
