My PC crashed while the launcher was updating CoH. Now down the bottom-left I get a message saying "Error during last operation. And, when I try pressing "Play Now" i get a message saying "Root element is missing".

Can someone please help me get this fixed? I wonder if it is possible to reinstall the launcher without having to download the whole game again? (I have a limited monthly download account and to start egain this early in the month might be tricky.)

Hello folks.

I have major performance problems in a map I have been in a couple times in Praetoria with a very large warehouse room. I would like to know if adding a second vid card would fix this before i go out and buy one without being able to test it first. I have a single AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series card currently.

Will this fix this for me?

Does adding +damage enhancements to the Beam Rifle "disintegration" power increase the damage dealt by the "Spread Disintegration" AoE DoT?

Does it matter which power I use to get the Disintegration? Does a higher level power effected by it do a higher DoT?

Also, is the bonus damage that we count on based on enhancements from the Disintegration power? Or, is the DoT damage from the power that triggers it?

This is a good chance to ask about "Disintegration". How come some times I get disintegration on the first target, and sometimes I get "Disintegration Spread". Do I need to hit the first target twice to spread or something?

edit: and what exactly does "Disintegration" do aside from a DoT? Something about regen? Worth getting as a bonus?

Hello folks.

I have been playing a Beam Rifle blaster in the Praetoria missions. However, the damage I deal is way lower than the description for the powers. Now, are the guys there resistant to energy damage more than other types? I see an attack that lists damage as 40ish but usually do only 30ish.

Please, help me with my beam rifle blaster.

I have just signed up for a new month of VIP. If I understand correctly I should get a new token and 400 more points? (yes?) So far I haven't seen either.

Only at lvl 7 or 8 and i do love beam rifle. how does disintergration work? Does it have different effects based on what power you use to cause the follow-up effect?

No, that's not the problem. It happens when moving the cursor over buttons in character creation.

When I go to start a new character the text for things like "Mutant" etc have letters missing. Moving the cursor over the bugged letters makes them appear properly but moving the cursor back away I get the same missing letters.

What sort of problem would this be?

It doesn't matter that I dropped it as a Villain while testing what was wrong? All I did was choose "abandon mission".

I have a nice lvl 50 scrapper. He started out a hero long before GR and when GR did come out I got him to lvl 50 and then made him a Vigilante. So I had a little look at the incarnate contact in Ouroboro (Mender Ramier or similar) and then bailed because I thought it too hard and that I should get my friends' help.

Then I became a Villain (hmm... did I go through rogue? I cannot remember). Now when I went to do the mission for Mender with my VG friends I entered the mission late and got no reward as I have been in there less than 30 seconds. Basicialy I got no credit for the mission. Now, when I talk to the contact he only lists a bunch of things about the arc but wont let me take up the arc again.

I need to know what I have to do to get that arc started at least. Do I need to be a hero? or, a vigilante? rogue?

edit: contacting help and support tells me that I still have the arc somewhere on the other side or such. What do I need to do to finish my acr from what I think was Vigilante

I have found my first purple recipe (yay!) I think I will sell it as the money I get from that will go a long way towards sets for other powers.

Now, do I wait for Freedom to bring in more players or will i get a better price now?

My first 50 is a Dual Blades/Willpower Brute. Now that I am looking at end-game I would just like some advice about enhancements etc.

Without a real high resist or defense power I am assuming it would be expensive or even impossible to hit the "soft cap". What can I do? The character is quite playable but I am entering unkown territory here. If I cannot get (or cannot afford) this elusive cap will i still be able to keep pace at lvl 50+1 ?

Can you slot two different sets on the one power? I am thinking about Shield Defense's power "Deflection". If I have 6 slots can I slot three power from a set using resist and three for defense?

Some sets I am looking at in Mid's show a level range. Also, when I searched in-game at the trading houses looking up sets some will only show up at lower levels.

So... I can only pick from a couple of sets?
