Ice tanks are always big team favs
But tbh if you plan to go /ice too I wouldn't consider soloing. Powers to avoid, I'd say permafrost on primary, and ice sword, frezing touch and frozen aura on ice secondary (although ice sword can be useful at low levels, if you plan to respc later on). As for pools, I'd go speed (hasten and superspeed), fitness (hurdle, health and stamina), medicine (stimuland and aid self) and fighting (punch/kick, tough and, provided I can afford the powerslot, weave)

All I can say is, bring on any sort of tank, turn off all your toggles but the mez protection one, and i'll be empathing, u can run and take the alpha, herd, do whatever u usually do when tanking, and if u die and i cant keep u alive, I'll give u 20 mill, but if you don't, then I'll be getting 20 mill from you, deal?
And btw, my ice/emp mainly duo'd, my illu/emp mainly soloed, but my emp defender levelled all the way to 50 with random teams and I can't recall of a single time that a tank died on my team... and I never ever fortied them, unless it was a team of 4 or less people. -

People should play one in PuGs and not their cosey little farming groups where they level faster than the average new player and some coordination is evident and see how different team make ups and team dynamics can be before establishing set ways of doing anything. No, I don't have an empath, in fact I've got three empaths, all lv50 -two trollers and a defender-, and I've never farmed with them fyi. The fact that I know how to play my toon shouldn't sound offensive to you, but if it does, well, tough -

i love those BUTs) I still think it's a must have in a pve IO'd build, even letting aside the HUGE ToH buff it provides, it's just worth only for the chance of build up unique, and if that's still not enough (altho having an extra chance of buil up permanently on every single attack is quite a bit if you ask me
)add to that +percep in case you are not playing a secondary with +percep, and finally, because for pve, you DO want energy torrent, and FA is way more useful than conserve power on a full IO'd scrapper build -game, set and match- ^^

I still think than an empath uncapable of having a tank on his toes without forti is doing something terribly wrong. In fact, an empath uncapable of having a blaster taking the alpha on a 6 man spawn on his toes without forti is doing something terribly wrong too, so the argumentation about offering more defense than damage is a bit useless imo. Granted, a bad slotted tank may need some heals without any buff on an 8 man team but that is not something that should stress the empath much. On the other side, the +buffage on heavy dmg dealers can boost the xp or inf per minute a huge lot.

My build is a little more endheavy on toggles than yours, granted, but it's made up having 12% +recovery than yours tho (13.5% now). Besides, with the 91.3% +rech, conserve is up again very very soon.
I'm slotting stupefy in bonesmasher just for the +rech, +recov and +hp. Considering that TF or ET will be up all the time unless very very heavily slowed, and with laser beam eyes as a third attack option, bonesmasher seems to me a bit redundant.. and anyway, if you are that slowed, it wouldn't make any difference having BS slotted for damage imo.
And yeah, forgot about the taunt auras change, blame it on the time...

Yup, in high level teams I'd forti first the damage dealers, in order of the damage they can dish. If there is a tank and I can't keep him on his toes at those levels without forti, then I'm doing something terribly wrong. On the other hand, aoe blasters with that huge +dmg buff become real monsters

There's a bit of acc in Taunt. That coupled with setbonus' and FA it ought to be fine.

Hmm I actually like miss' build better as it is. Don't skip AP, and never, ever get aid on an empath... in fact, don't take it on any toon but possibly on a /ff or /sonic fire troller built to solo. IT's too slow, rooting, can be interrupted and it has a ridiculous range. Unless you are a rad/ or kin/ I'm not really a fan of defender's nuke either, blasters can do that stuff much better.
What I would probably do is skip concealment completelly and get assault, tactics and maybe ss, and get rid of fly pool (unless it's for concept reasons) and get leaping, with a kb resist on cj -ss+sj means uber speed to go where being required, chunk in a stealth IO in SS and you will have full invisibility too-.
Drop conserve power, you shouldn't have any end problems at all even without RA, and get tk blast or total focus intead, not for the damage, but for the kb or stun.
Oh, and fortie 3 rech 3 defbuff, base +toh should be more than enough for pve too -
It isn't
The lack of immobs to spam makes it a second class pvp wise alone. Besides, rad is great for duels, but not really for team pvp or zones. Blind is very good tho, as it's bugged and hits thru any defense -
That build pre purps, arch? and no accuracy in taunt?

But thing is, tight as stalkers builds are, trying and get a build with all the goodies wp needs is a real pain. Regen is much less demanding in that sense, and there are nor many powers that make you say 'gah wish i could get a cpl of more powerslots', really

... But I want boost range in. Problem is, I dont know what to skip for it. First thought was acrobatics, and chunk in a bunch of kb resist IO's, but they are not that good pvp wise, and besides it would screw some of the bonus sets and make me quite vulnerable to non troller/domi holds, too. So any advice? As usual, comments and ideas are always welcome -

Have you considered the idea of playing a blaster instead if what you really want is deal raw heavy damage?

I'm not sure if at lv10 you will know what suits you best, but what sort of blaster were you thinking on? AoE specialised, huge damage in single target? someone with good mez capabilities?
