If PvP is turning into poor tatics like this im going to stop PvPing. I have always enjoyed PvP untill people start taking it too far and doing "anything" to win. I wont be part of it. I hope this is last time we see things like this. I personaly like thay map also. I dont want to see it as a "Void Map".
If people have to resort to less then fair tatics then wheres the fun in that you should prove your better than the other teams through out playing a team and developing cunning tatics not poor unfair tatics.
I would just ask that each team thinks about the tatics it uses before using them.
[/ QUOTE ]
I thought the tactic was completely legitimate, to be honest. The power is only doing what the devs intended it to do, it's not like they used an exploit to make it more powerful or anything like that. I'm afraid this is just the nature of pentad, some teams do have unbeatable tactics since you often can't fit a kinetics on a pentad team. Granted, it might not be fun for you but if they're not exploiting then there's no problem.
Besides, I thought this was supposed to be the top-level PvPers getting together to improve ourselves? Surely it's better that the teams do "anything to win" to raise the overall standard of play even higher? I certainly would've stopped coming if all we'd done was walk over everyone on the first night. The reason I enjoy it so much was because we did lose to the french guys by some insane amount in the first few matches we fought. Throw any tactic you want at me, all it means is that I spend the next week thinking of a counter for it and then coming back stronger. Surely that's the point of this whole thing?
[/ QUOTE ]
Errm i completely forgot yesterday was monday, so i wasnt there to see but.. after having read the whole thread i dont consider it exploiting either, it's just using their powers to their own benefit imo, and devs have said over and over that tp foe was not exploiting too, so... but anyway, its just my opinion (and the fact that both my regens have tp foe is not a reason not to be impartial
)

I'd go for:
Radiant Aura: 3 Heal 1 EndRdx 2 RechRdx
RI: 3 ToHit 3 DefDebuff
EF: 2/3 EndRdx (if u got the slots, dont doubt it, 3 EndRdx is best)
AM: 3 RechRdx 3 EndMod
Mutate: 1 RechRdx
LR: 2 RechRdx 2 Acc 2 Slow (PvP) 3 RechRdx 1 Acc 2 Slow (PvE)
CC: 2/3 EndRdx 3 Hold
Fallout: Don't take it
EMD: 2 hold 2 rech 2 ACC -

It may be less your build causing the problem in some ways, and more the circumstances, and also just lack of PvP experience and knowledge. I don't mean that in any bad way, just that it takes more than a few fights to really start understanding what powers work well against who, when to use them, and how to effectively team in PvP. I really think that a good PvPer could take even a really gimped toon into PvP and find some use for them, even though a good PvP build would massively improve them. Conversely, someone who has no PvP experience couldn't take control of a perfectly-built PvP toon and destroy everyone in a PvP zone first time.
[/ QUOTE ]If I told you that first time I PvP'd, I took a total PvE build and destroyed everyone in the match, would you believe me?
It's not just PvP skill, it's overall gameplay skill.
[/ QUOTE ]
I still think a good build is 90% and skill is 10%, but that would belong to another thread.
Yet i gotta agree, having rad, and not getting its 3 brand powers, is like having a tank without armors nor taunt if u ask me.
Having a good rad set will enable to solo an AV roughly these days, but really easily with another troller, and that goes for PvP too, u r missing the powers that really make a difference on the rad's side imo -
Same here... after i7 and frespec that is tho
. All my builds are PvE'ish so far

ROFL!!! Someone please, take away his anphetamines!!
Really nice ideas I have seen there. Such a vast work should deserve some kinda reward, like a free subscription for life or something (any devs around?). If they listen to our proposals as they say, just by stadistics we r bound to see some of ur suggestions implemented soon(please please read the lv50 bonus player slot!)

It's quite clear (to me at least), that the heroes of Paragon City has been forgotten by the gods (read; devs), and that villains is the new black.

That's how I feel about it alsoWhich is unfortunate, since I haven't gotten into the CoV side of things, one toon at 14 is all.

MMORPG.com: In terms of balance, is there an equivalent power set available to the heroes in CoH, or is this a villainous advantage?
Matt Miller: The Patron Powers are stronger and more powerful than the equivalent powers in City of Heroes (the Ancillary Power Pools), because there is less diversification and the fact that Patron choices are permanent alterations to your character.

Pooh and me missing all this fun cuz i been on holidays
. When will next PvP night be out? im back on 24th
-
Oh noes! was gonna sign in, but knowing u r there i think i'll errm bail
.
Nah, being serious, i wont be online till 24th 25th the sooner. Sign me in next time tho

Easy to say: BS = dmg -end; MA = stuns +end
Main handicap on bs is imo having to seath ur sword if theres some pool power on ur chain. The -end shouldnt be a problem on a /regen, but will prolly be on any other secondary
Main handicap on MA is u have to bash more buttons if u want ur foe dea.. errm.. arrested.
If u plan to pvp, a built up critic head splitter will faceplant anything squishy, and a chain head splitter +dissembowel, anything but a tanker or a dull pained scrapper (against them u can use parry too, which with the soon-to-come def buff is bound to do make a real difference). Bad news is u wont be able to use TP Foe (unless with caltrops, and even that way it wont be THAT consistent) cuz of the weapon seath thingie.
On the MA side, u will have stuns, a fair dmg output, quickest chains, and the chance to use TP foe at its full potential -
If u ever start something always remember this: never listen to e-gen's advice. A blapper that cries like a baby just cuz u ask him to play against ur grav/storm is not worth listening to
.
Secondly, id go for fire/nrg and ice/nrg, in that order: Fire DPS is stupidly high, both in 1vs1 or for teams. ice secondary effects (-speed -rech) and holds are a good bet too. ANyways a good choice me thinks -
[ QUOTE ]
It depends how you define 'better'. Speed Boost provides a better recharge buff than Adrenaline Boost and better recharge and recovery than Accelerate Metabolism. It's also able to be perma on the whole team (except the caster, of course).
[/ QUOTE ]
Speed boost provides less recharge rate than Adrenaline boost (u need 2 SB on u to have perma Pa if u r an illu troller, and just one AB will do)
SB does provide better power recharge and end recovery than AM, as u say, but on the other hand AM advantages are: 1º, it's self buff too, caster can be buffed too; 2º, it's AoE, so u dont have to be constantly buffing team mates, or checking individually if their buff has run out; 3º it provides dmg boost, SB doesnt; 4º it provides mez protection, and again, SB doesnt. -

Having said that I could be tempted to poke my nose into a PvP zone again one day...have to wait and see though. At present it's a non-starter for me, don't have time to mess around learning a whole new game which is what i suspect PvP is.
[/ QUOTE ]
Pfft, having tagged with u lots of times, i can say u should learn and play pve first then
Nahh, being a lil serious, limitations on stealth and travels are not good if u plan to boost pvp. Im for having regular pvp nights, but limitations are not good as they fav melee types, mainly stone tanks -

Well best among storm/rad/kin pve intended would be fire/kin imo. The dmg u deal is stupidly high (im building one myself atm) storm and rad would do better in pvp tho prolly, it will depend on what u want ur toon for.
Anyway, id advice u to spare hot feet (i know i'll be yelled at now), but own experience points out that imps will do all the dmg while u will do the mezz/buff/heal job (tho id pick HF till lv 32 and then respec it out, or playing solo would be an uthopy).
If u plan to pve mainly, take psi epics (id u dont like it for any reason, go for fire). If u r going to pvp a lot, go for primal, fire or psi.
