On a single foe, mental blast is more deals more damage. Tornado is better when lots of mobs are together of course. But with hasten and AM mental blast recharge is 1.2 secs while tornado is 9. I personally like having the chance to 2shot red lts once containment is on (with mental blast and spectral wounds) and go for another. Besides it's much better for AVs, where u can be attacking all the time with no pause (only when LR is back), and also if you solo imo. But you are right, to each, his own

My money is on the blasters + emp, but it could be a close and interesting fight. If the stalkers all had spines (easiest way to spike), they would probably have good odds.

as always it depends on the player and tactics involved, empath and blasters wouldnt see my and my stalking partner untill it was too late.

This is actually what i meant, sorry not to have explained but I was in a hurry. Having stealth+hide+grant invis (stealth cap), heroes with perception cap will only see u in the last 10 feet, not enough for the team to react in time. Stalkers need 2 blows in hide to kill an empath, and besides, an EM stalker (i'm sure at least one of the four will be EM) will stun the empath in 1 blow. It can just hit the empath without stopping to run with ss on and another one finish the job, it can be another EM or, more suitable, a spines impaling from range and rushing to recover hide. Much that I appreciate ur opinion, NB, I gotta disagree here

Cant complain about how my spines/SR does in SC. In fact I think it kick [censored] with percep cap and ranged dmgAid self is pretty useful too

Any illusion should be able to solo any non AV mission at lv8 so...
IMO EM doesnt need powerboost. Its hold duration is so huge u can cast it and go to the toilet. When u are back foes will still be held. Besides it's no autohit, so 3 rech 3 hold is not the best way to slot it IMHO.
About the psi tornado thingie, it's a darn too long recharge time power, and its dmg is pants too, so bearing in mind illu has no AoE Immob to activate containment, I dont think it's worth really. Mental blast animation is bloody long, but recharge is quite fast and dmg is quite good (about 1/3 more powerful than SW, it's also more dmging that the body mastery blast and psi armor is better too), so for me it's a better choice.
About RI giving more chances to hit than training enhancements at those levels... well foes dont usually have defenses at those low levels either, and u really dont notice RI much till u got it SO'ed. I personally find the illu set much more useful in the beginning, with rad getting more and more powerful for latter levels -

Although that's pretty common in the zones (common, but not the majority mind me /activate shield for flames), it's quite strange in arena. Actually, having pvp'ed a while myself, I just found that 3-4 times there. I wouldnt pvp myself against someone I consider a 'n00b' actually, as I consider that would be a waste of time. I would against a newbie tho -
Well i'm quite happy with my build as it is. The main reason why i got that order is for slotting wise. I prefered to have some powers full slotted to have them all half slotted. Recall friend and mutation dont need any aditional slot. That way I could slot properly the important powers I had at that time, and it worked fine for me. No point in having IR and AM 1 slotted, or having spectral wounds or blind 2-3 slotted.
I do agree that spectral terror is great in pvp. Actually IMO it's the best illu power along with blind and spectral wounds in pvp... but the build i posted was exclusively pve intended. And in PvE, first it's not reliable alone, u gotta combine it with other powers, such as lingering rad (which is effective alone); second, it doesn't activate containment.. so of course it's a matter of opinion, but I really think all the powers set previously are more useful for pure pve -

Deceive is really useful against AVs. Deceive them to have all the minions around him killed safely. Besides great to control sappers, quantums, voids... as doing it doesn't aggro unlike holds.
I know I focus on illu set a lot at the beginning, but it's really worth if u plan to solo sometimes too. Of course when rads really shine (well shine shiner, lets say) is for AVs, and u will be ready for them at late 30's.
Quite like most trollers, illu/rad is a late bloomer... but you just gotta see what it can do when it finally blooms -

I thought that was the way to go in sirens tho lol. It's really strange seeing similar numbers. Sometimes heros camp in front of the villains base, and some other times it's villains who camp and tp out heroes... but even numbers, it's rare

Parry lasts for 10 seconds, with 3 rech u can have 2 almost perma stacked. With hasten u sometimes get to 3

Well, it seems blappers was the way to go. Since i7 came out I just fought a blaster so far. Dunno if they were overpowered or not before, that is a matter of opinion, but i do think they are heavily underpowered atm

Well that is a personal opinion. Loads of others will say that they only stay in the game cos of PvP.
Personally I don't think PvP has made the game less fun. First you are not forced to PvP, nor in the zones neither in Arena. U can completelly avoid PvP if you want... but i agree with u that debt in pvp should be abolished. That is the main reason IMHO why PvP zones haven't succeeded, but remember that arena is also PvP -
If u plan to be an exclusively ranged blaster id go for fire/energy, but u wont have holds that way. Quick animations and best snipe in the game tho, uber when combined with boost range+bu+aim.
Elec/'s animations are not as quick as other primaries, but it makes up with a nasty end drain and mez.
Ice has quick anims, a cpl of holds and -speed -rech debuffs that are quite handy. Con is its range is not as good as others -
If u already have boxing/kick... pick IH
. It's like comparing brawl to headsplitter (well i might be exaggerating a bit, but there's really no possible doubt about which is a better choice
)

If u dont like spines, i'd go for broadsword hands down. If u can handle endurance issues. SR with parry would make u pretty untouchable... and about dmg.. well u know the deal with BS

Nevertheless, EM Pulse lasts longer than PA, but I think it's the only hold that does that, and it's not from a troller's primary, so... -
