  1. Scarlet, allow me to do both.*

My daughter is only going to be two at the end of this month but she can normally make her meaning clear by stringing two or three words together into a sentence. She's also aware of my gaming and occasionally comes into the study to watch me play. As she knows that whoever is on screen is who I'm controlling, any character I have up is 'Daddy' even if the character is female.

The first time she properly watched was a few months ago when she was watching me play my Fire/Fire Blaster in the middle of a Rikti invasion. Having seen a Fulcrum Shift go off, I dive deep into the mob and trigger Inferno. From beside me, a little, awe struck voice says, "Oooh, Daddy FIRE!"

I know that voice. And it's the voice of a future Fire Blaster.

The other incident happened only about a week ago. Recently we have been training her to shout should she need to attend to any toilet related activities as one does when beginning potty training. She's watching me chat to the team before entering a mission where I shall be lead Tank. As the loading screen clears, I toggle up my Holy Trinity of Rock Armour, Mud Pots and Rooted before charging into the crowd. Instantly my daughter starts shouting, "POO DADDY POO! POO POO POO DADDY!!!"

There then followed a few minutes of the worst Tanking imaginable as I try to gather aggro while crying with laughter and dealing with a squirming two year old who is all rather excited by the sight of my armour.

Since then, my Stone Tank is affectionately referred to as 'Poo Daddy'.

*And for what it's worth, I find the aforementioned rule silly too but hey ho.
  2. Probably the best Halloween costume I've done. Designed for a friend's wedding party a few years ago. Had to make the horns myself.

    His greatest mistake ever.

Personally, I think the mysterious letter writer is Nemesis (I know, boring!). He’s clever enough to work multi-dimensionally so I wouldn’t put it past him to try and counter the plots of his future self. The taunting and smug style of writing fit the character too.

As for Shiva, I think the Preserver’s mission only destroyed the advance party, buying us a few more years. There’s far worse out there on its way, especially with the Mender’s reference to the Shivans as scouts. The reason they class as undead is, I believe, due to the radioactive energy using the bodies of those who died when the meteorite hit rather than the dead souls of aliens.

I’ve already stated that I think that the Battalion is the Coming Storm and that we’ll need the help of the Rikti to defeat them given that they managed to beat them out of their dimension before. However, as we’re not ready to fight them, we’ll have to unlock the power of the Incarnate to do so, hence going back to Cimerora for the history and the upcoming i19 TFs. The Praetorians are tough sure, but in the end, it’s one man and his robot army (with advanced tech admittedly) but I don’t think that will be the entire Incarnate content. I suspect full Incarnates will be the only people capable of handling the might of the Coming Storm when it arrives.

As for other arcs I’d like completed? Given how much the Thorns plague us throughout our careers, I’d really like to see some kind of strike against them in the upper levels. Unlike the other persistent villains, the Freakshow, we don’t really get anything epic with them in to finish their story off.

Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't the special helmets that are given out as part of the 50+ Vet rewards exclusive to pre-orders of CoV? Or am I getting confused again.

I'd support an additional pack with all this bits and pieces in even though I've got a few 'exclusive' things on my account. Let others get them and enjoy them too.

But you can't have my PvP mini-comic though.

I'm hoping we may learn more in i19 given that one of the arcs explores the Leviathan and where it came from.

The Rikti fought them and won about 100 years ago. Personally, I think they are the Coming Storm, not the Praetorian invasion and that we'll need the help of our inter-dimensional invaders to fight them off.

The Coming Storm clearly has something to do with Bloody Bay. Okay, so nobody can be certain that Silos is telling the truth, but I'll take him at his word when he describes the Shivans from the meteor you have to destroy while Lazarus stands around twiddling his thumbs as the Storm's "scouts." Also, I believe the letter writer to be the Dream Doctor, since he wrote in "Why I Left and Why You Must Stay" that "Something is coming and [he] must find out what it is before it's too late." Sounds like a Coming Storm to me, and the presence of a Pillar in the Midnighter Club makes me even more inclined to believe there is a connection.
Hadn't considered that one before. Not a bad idea I must admit. I like it!
  7. I too have only recently turned to Stalkers and my very first one has been Kin/Nin. She's only level 20 but I'm having a blast.

Kin has some nice mitigation such as knockdown and stuns. Not only is that helpful, it also feels nice and powerful too. I like choosing my targets, selecting where to position myself in a fight. On a team, I can take out the problem mobs in seconds. Buffers/Debuffers, annoying bosses - all taken out of the fight within seconds, leaving the rest of the team to clear up the spawn without a hitch. I'm kinda amazed that teams don't value Stalkers for this role alone.

Nin is fun and has some neat tricks. I took it because it is unique to Stalkers but it works very nicely as a set as well. Even teams appreciate Caltrops and I can't wait to get Blinding Powder later on.

So good luck, Kin/Nin is fun and has helped me to appreciate Stalkers a lot.

As server list merge has been something a lot of EU players have wanted for a long time. It would, in my opinion, solve my two biggest problems that the current structure has, namely:

    1) Segregating the community and

    2) EU players getting access to less servers for virtually the same fee.

Server merger? Never wanted one, never seen the need for one. I just want the option to be able to play with our NA bretheren.
  9. Uk and I keep getting kicked out and not let back in again. No idea why it thinks my password is incorrect when it works for everything else.

    "Are you a god?"

My namesake already draws his power from Hades so tick the box for another dark avatar. However I could see my SS/Fire Brute being an avatar of rage and my Sonic/Em Blaster as being an avatar of song.

I guess we'll see what being an Incarnate really means and take it from there really.

Oh, and if anyone ever asks you if you are a god... you say YES!

Also, can you please hurry i19 along. My new characters that are waiting to be made are getting . . . . . angry.

You can download it from here: http://www.splasher.com.ar/

Plus, with you on wanting i19 here tomorrow. My altisis is already raging out of control with ideas...

    CoX Splasher?
  13. If they're looking to the top end TF/SFs and the Feedback from the recently improved Positron, then they're off to a good start.

However, what I'm really stoked about is the use of the captioning system to assist the story. One of the things I dislike about our current teaming system is that it's not always possible to keep up with the story because only the team leader gets to see certain dialogue. So this looks like it could well be a step in the right direction.

Oh and hats off to them for putting the player centre stage. I never like playing second fiddle to NPCs so knowing that we will become more powerful than they are is quite exciting.

I think CoH hits the mark pretty well.
I agree completely with this. As someone who is a roleplayer but also a gamer, I need my background to give good immersion but loose enough that I can make certain concepts work within the game but which also lets me just cut loose blasting when I feel like it.

There are some gaps in the Lore that bug me but for the most part, CoX hits the balance quite nicely.

    30 Geek babies.

Some of those are pretty cool. It also gives me ideas for what to do with my 2 year old in the future. As it is, she spent 19th September dressed like a pirate and makes "Yaaarrr!" noises if I say 'pirate'.

Clearly I've got some way to go though if these are anything to judge by.

Welcome back from another old timer.
  18. I don't think I understand the OP's question either so I'll assume he's in favour of a united server list as well. However, as a free tip, this:

  19. Bruce Campbell acts as priest for a pair of Evil Dead fans. Can this man get any cooler?

ZomBCon, the premiere zombie convention being held this Halloween in Seattle, is announcing today that newly ordained minister Bruce Campbell will be officiating a zombie wedding at the inaugural convention. While only one couple is going to be lucky enough to be married by Campbell, he will also be officiating a mass renewal ceremony, for those zombies that didn't get to do it right the first time. He might be reading from the Necronomicon so be warned... There might be Deadite shenanigans.

ZomBCon is shaping up to be the pop culture experience of the fall. Not only can you meet Bruce Campbell and see him in his brilliance as Ash in a new print of Evil Dead, you can remind yourself of why you fell in love with someone by remarrying them with Bruce Campbell as your guide. Speaking of guides, Bruce will also be featured at the Geekscape panel "How to kill zombies the Bruce Campbell way" hosted by Jonathan London and Brian Walton.

To find out more about Zombcon check out www.zombcon.com

Now Hail to the King, baby!

RECENT ADDITION: Ted Raimi WILL be the altar boy at the wedding.
  20. Never spoke but you were always one of the politest members of this community and often found myself nodding in agreement with your posts.

    Be well and enjoy retirement.

I know the endless ambushes in Praetoria will be more managable and fun if you had a bit more endurance to deal with them!
I suspect this is very true for a lot of low level play at the moment. However, it's not stopping me. Unless concept dictates that the character is from Primal Earth, all of my low levellers go through Praetoria these days. The content is just so much better than red or blue side these days.
  22. Thank you for all of this, it looks terrific. Now to redo all of my pages with new snazziness. Which if you have altisis as bad as me, means a lot of work.

Just as well I enjoy it. Yay.

A brooding character only works if he has an overwhelming amount of tragedy to brood ABOUT. Too often characters seem to have jumped out of bad fanfiction; with writers wanting to have the brooding but without the emotional desolation it should stem from.

Now, unless they change something drastically in this new series, Clark has had a good upbringing, parents who love him, and abilities any human would kill for. He has nothing to brood about.
    Altogether now:

    "My planet is DEAD!!!!"

(Not defending btw... just saying. )
  24. I don't even like Superman but I gotta feel sorry for him. Jeez, I wouldn't wish being Twilightified on my worst enemy, let alone this alien orphan who could put me through a brick wall.

    Epic fail.
