Quote:I would welcome that. I do miss the challenge of the old level 50 content.a requested feature that i remember between i19 and i20 was to give an option akin to ouro flashback/tf challenge settings that disabled incarnate powers since we do have one which is disable temp powers or only primary/secondary powers so it shouldnt be too hard to add a disable incarnate powers option
And as for upping the difficulty, yes, you can do that but you'd be amazed how fast people go off wanting to run a TF when it's not a cakewalk at +0/x8.
If upping the difficulty gave a significant shift in rewards or even (perish the thought) dropped threads instead of shards, there might be some interest at running at that difficulty. As it is, the people I have encountered only want to race through it for the merits or kerbstomp as many white conning minions as possible for shard drops. -
I do dislike how incarnate powers have trivialised end game content. I used to enjoy how challenging and dangerous things such as the ITF, LRSF, STF or even LGTF were a year or two ago. Now they're just a cakewalk.
I have a thought, and it is only a thought, that at some point, when the incarnate content is developed enough, the Devs will 'pull up the ladder' on incarnate powers and make them only usable during incarnate trials and content. -
Oppressive Gloom costs barely anything to run. In terms of End for Damage Mitigation, it is far superior to Cloak of Fear. You just have to be used to the mobs wandering. If you're struggling with Endurance costs on Dark Armour, I'd keep OP on but not bother to run CoF.

Quote:Although this is true, the problem is that the additional damage types add so little mitigation or secondary effect to the attack, it's virtually worthless. So in a way, DP swaps less damage for a secondary effect that adds little to the value of the set.The damage is lower because of the added utility of Swap Ammo, but I enjoy the set.
Redraw is also an issue but it would be so much less annoying if the animation didn't have you doing a pointless little twirl of the guns with each redraw. If the animation was changed to be a very swift pulling of the guns from their holsters, it would be so much better.
My advice, if you choose to go DP is to go for a secondary that requires little redraw and helps buff damage or debuff resistance in some way. I like my DP/Rad Corr but I'd love her if the draw animation was tweaked and the secondary effect more useful. -
I'd settle for the black blob theme if Street Justice wasn't so damn pretty to watch while killing people with it. I was actually asked by someone today what the SJ Assassin's Strike looks like because they couldn't see it past the clouds of FX.
Currently, I'm thinking that I might have to set up a pair of binds to the suppressclosefx command to use when I log onto that character and restore it when I log out as if affects all my other toons.
*Sigh* I can understand not having a 'Minimal FX' setting for elemental armour sets but a 'Less Dense' setting would be a godsend. If this hasn't been asked for in the All Things Art FX thread yet, I may have to go put a request in there. -
Quote:Apologies for the sarcasm but for me, it's never been resolved and I know I'm not alone. Is this still happening?
The log in cookie is possibly still set to 24 hours, but we've talked to the appropriate parties about having this changed to 14 days.
It's not even 24 hours. I can log in, post, check the boards, go to a different website and come back and surprise, surprise, I'm logged back out again. All within the space of 5 minutes.
If you need more techy detail I can provide. -
Quote:Perhaps while they're offline you could, you know, take a look at this bug that seems to log people out all of the time.It seems that some updates which were being worked on are at the center of this. We are likely going to need to take the forums offline, possibly tomorrow, to address this issue.
We'll let you know when we're going to perform this maintenance.
You might have heard of it. -
Quote:A tweest? Surely ye jest?Just wait: Cole will turn out to be a 'good guy' in the end and the whole set up of Praetoria was just a way for the Well to 'train' more Incarnates to take on bigger threats like the Praetorian Hamidon and the Coming Storm that Cole by his lonesome could not take on.
The Devs couldn't possibly throw in another unexpected twist into Evil Goatee Paragon could they? That would be just... unheard of!
*sarcasm off* -
And this from my villain character:
Q: How many heroes does it take to tile a forum?
A: About three if you slice them thinly enough.
Plus, Zwili gets bonus points for using the word 'Borked' which is one of my favourite words. -
If Corruptors appeal, go for it. But I'll toss in my latest hoverblasting love affair here, a Dark/Mental/Soul Blaster. 3 Single Target Blasts, 5 Cones, 2 Holds and 2 Soft control Auras for when you have to dip in and use Drain Psyche. Works well from range and has a load of fun toys.
If not, I can recommend AR/En for lots of range boosted fun. -
Quote:Switched to villain but I still have that goon Statesman at the top. Can we have a villain theme with Lord Recluse smacking in the face of a nameless robot too please?Lower left hand corner of the browser where there is a box that says hero you change it to villain.

Hmmm, although this works well for my Stalker, it seems to be affecting every character I log onto now.
Is there a way to make it apply to just that character? If not, how do I set it back to normal? I think I'd rather see all my character effects and then just tweak Dark Armour until it plays ball.
Thanks for all your suggestions, I can see myself burning a lot of Tailor Tokens trying to get this one right. -
A whole lot of fluff for too many points.
But if you'd added a chainsaw temporary power I would have bought it in a heartbeat. -
Interesting.
Whenever I play a PB or WS, one of the first things I do at level 11 is slot a -KB IO into the Tier 1 Secondary power. Those only have a -4 KB protection and since slotting them I have never been knocked back by a Void or Quantum.
I hope that hasn't been changed. -
There have been a few RPvP events on Union in the past but they've always taken the form of charity matches rather than actual showdowns between heroes and villains.
Personally, I'd love to see more happen but it would require going into it with no egos attached, accepting that it's just a fun time event. -
Quote:I take your point, I think it just doesn't quite hang right for me. Kheldians run for 50 levels without ever touching the Well, they're two separate paths to power. I think I'd be happier if there was some Kheld specific dialogue options explaining why this alien being needs to seek out the Well but then I think there's needed to be Kheld specific dialogue in lots of parts of the game. It just feels like poor design to me.I don't see any lore reason why a Kheldian can't be an Incarnate. Incarnates get their power from the Well of the Furies, and Kheldian ATs are half human. So really, there isn't a reason why the human half can't gain powers from the Well just as easily as everyone else.
Still, as you say, WS and PBs are half human so there is a connection.
I hadn't noticed the sounds and FX of War Walkers, I'm going to have to watch out for that next time. I did run a plot with my SG a while ago that had the Council experimenting with using enslaved Peacebringers and powers sources for their weapons. It put an interesting twist on the ITF, that's for sure. Who knows what experiments the Council have put PBs through under Mount Richardson? -
I would recommend looking at the set as a whole and seeing if it's worth it. The set has lower accuracy than Decimation (which I think is the other set that gives 6.25% recharge) but it's a hell of a lot cheaper. If you have good accuracy bonuses, it can be worth stacking them up.
My Kinetics/Ice Defender has three sets of them for the recharge and runs Tactics so the lower Accuracy is not really an issue. And although the heal is small it's a little bonus when it does fire off. But to rely on it on it's own? Not a smart idea. -
Quote:That made me laugh a hell of a lot more than it should have done. That said, I am the guy who bought his daughter a bib with a Dalek on it and the word 'REGURGITATE!' written underneath it.Well, if you insist...
Q. What's a Dalek's favourite beauty tip?
A. EXFOLIATE! EXFOLIATE! EXFOOOLLIIIAAATTE!!
I can see myself picking up a lot of jokes to tell her from this thread. -
I actually find Scrappers a bit dull to tell the truth. Since I can create heroic Brutes I don't think I've touched a Scrapper in ages. (I prefer Brutes as I can control how much Fury I generate, crits are just annoyingly random). Stalkers have all kinds of toys for picking and choosing their fights. Yes I know Scrappers can get IOs and Invisibility but it's not really the same. And Placate is just fun for making them put down their guns only for me to punch them in the face.
I was in a team with my SJ/Dark Stalker yesterday and I was reminded of one of the other reasons I like them: making mobs 'disappear'. It was a mid 20s group and we had a Warshade with us. For the first few missions, I giggled over team chatter that went like this:
WS: Void!
*Sound of a spine breaking Assassin's Strike*
Me: Where?
And they got used to it. Sky Raider Engineers, Tsoo Sorcerors, they just vanished before they could cause any trouble. I like to have a vital role in a team, to contribute something no-one else can be it buffing, debuffing, tanking etc... With CoX, anyone can bash a bad guy in the face but being able to select your enemy and eliminate them before they can get a shot off is just golden and left me smiling like a loon. -
And I thought this thread was going to be full of the type of jokes my dad used to tell, such as:
Q: How many ears does Captain Kirk have?
A: Three. A left ear, a right ear and a final front ear.
Oh well. -

So... with the dawn of Street Justice, I did two things I never thought I would do again:
1) Roll another Stalker and
2) Choose Dark Armour
Now I have a love/hate relationship with DA. I want to love it but I can never seem to get it to work right. However, this time, I'm willing to give it a bash. But boy had I forgotten how it ruins costumes.
No matter what colour scheme I attempt in the costume creator, by the time I toggle on the four main armours, I am just a big, blurry, black blob. All of the Street Justices' awesome moves are lost in a haze of grim blackness.
So fellows of the forums, your guidance please. Have any of you managed to find a combination of colours that preserves the look of your costume while using this powerset? I know I'm doing myself no favours by having a mostly black costume but any suggestions for making myself a little bit more visible under the steaming black cloud would be very much appreciated.
Thanks! -
Although I'd love to know what's coming in the future, there's also a potential financial impact too.
Let's just say I'm an avid base builder and the Devs announce that bases will get some love in issue 27. They then run the risk that I'll cancel my sub until that issue comes out.
That said, I understand the frustration. I would love, love, love to see some material coming out for the 30 - 50 levels.
