Yep, I encountered them and beat them on my MA/SR Scrapper. No pulling or anything like that, just jumped in and went to it.
They can stack up quite a bit of Defense, but nothing that a bit of patience and persistence and the superb single-target damage of Martial Arts can't overcome.
Definitely a lot of fun. -
The panels are well put together, and the overall story was very good. I especially liked the fight between the Hellion and Skulls bosses, and their back-and-forth quipping during the fight was very well done.
As for constructive criticism, the models have that "uncanny valley" thing going on. In-game models might have been better from an aesthetics standpoint. And I was expecting it to be more of a tutorial. In the first page or two it seemed like that's the way it was going to go, then it turned into a more-or-less straight-up story with very little game information.
Overall though it's a very entertaining read and very well done.
I was going to note how the new guy probably shouldn't be classified as Natural, but then I remembered after the devs made the Soldiers of Arachnos Natural, Origins became so nebulous as to be almost meaningless. So OK, Natural it is.
And I'm guessing Golden Girl is an alien? -

Their plan is to keep humanity ignorant of the plan?

Let me guess: no Pieface?
Seriously though, that looks awesome even though I'm not the biggest Lantern fan (stories tend to be too abstract and otherworldly for my tastes). -
KM/SR is a great combo, and currently my favorite Brute. The scaling resists work with the -damage, and the +recharge helps with stacking +damage and getting Power Siphon back that much quicker. Aesthetically, both sets have a light, agile feel that go well together.

The problem with Patron Pets is that at one slot they aren't worth the power pick and at six slots they aren't up enough to justify that many slots (Assault would probably provide more damage over time than a single-slotted Patron Pet).
A couple of exceptions: the Spiderlings for Stalkers and the Blaster for Bane Spiders both tend to work out very well, in my experience. If you're soloing x4 or greater spawn sizes, the Coralax Guardian tends to die more or less immediately, which is very unfortunate as the Gurardian is one of the more interesting pets from an aesthetics/powers perspective.
Of course, given Villains can access all the APPs now, the Patron Pools are more or less roleplay, for the most part. The balancing pass helped, but the APPs on the whole, are still better.
Having to spend two power-picks just to make the Patron Pet viable kind of says it all. I really must play test this approach though, because it does sound fun, if highly suboptimal. -
FE adds extra Fire damage to all your attacks, and does not show up in the monitor as +Damage.

I was up at 1 am playing due to insomnia, and Freedom and Virtue were both in the yellow still, everything else was green. Those are your best bets to find others to play with late.

My first one was Satan's Robot (also my original forum handle). SS/INV Brute with a costume meant to look like Gort. Badly built and long gone, I think I got him to 22ish before wandering off to do other things, including rolling my "surprise" main Daemodand. I'm not even especially fond of blue side or Scrappers, but somehow he became and remains my main (and my first 50).
I guess it's true what they say: a painful leveling experience can actually make you grow attached to a character. -
I crafted a LOTG7.5 in there today. Sent you 5 stars because it's a good idea and you put a lot of surprising attention to detail in it.
Don't be surprised at low plays. The quickest way out once you've crafted is to just quit the taskforce and it dumps you right out. In theory you're supposed to click the computer...but that's just too slow.
One minor thing: multiple copies of people's characters show up on a setting of +0x8. Don't know if there's anything you can/should do about that, but just so you know (it's a bit immersion breaking). It's awesome seeing people's characters in there, though. Espeically Backfire himself, the coolest one of all. -
-uiskin 1 got me my City of Villains back. Thanks for the tips!

It's too bad the legacy of the lawsuit is self-appointed trademark police "keeping the game safe from another lawsuit" when in fact there is zero possibility of any more lawsuits and the settlement of the previous one requires no action on the part of the players at all. You can see form the OP how it causes needless worry and loss of enjoyment in the game. It's just a shame.

The fact this launcher respects browser choice alone makes it worth using. Huge improvement over the old launcher.

It's gone live! Run! Run for your lives!

Subjective Feedback: The Sonic powerset sounds need to be looked at. They are still some of the worst, most grating sounds in the game. Also, please redo the Dual Blades sounds. The "kling-klang" when hitting things is annoying and silly. Dual Blades should sound more like the swords Cimerorans use (those actually sound really cool).

Given the talent they've been letting go lately, I find it hard to believe there's any CoH2 being worked on. There's certainly zero evidence for it as an active project, and the departures are a strong negative indicator.
Suits me just fine, as this CoH is just fine and still the best MMO on the market. It's ruined other MMOs for me, in fact lol. -
Luckily for me I named my pet a 128 bit string of random characters.

Castle was a great friend to Super Reflexes and to Martial Arts. Daemodand got his DODGED!s back thanks to him, too.
Via con Excel, Senior Castle. Via con Excel. -
Quote:I choose to not understand this.It costs 20 threads for a common component and 60 threads for an uncommon component, you need all 4 uncommons to make a rare component. You need 4 rares to make a Very rare component.
You can convert 10 shards to 6 threads every 20h or an unlimited amount of 10:3 conversions. -
Quote:Personally, I never get tired of beating Statesman on his metal-plated face. And I laugh every time Synapse faceplants (he's the Blaster, get it?) Oh, I truly am a Villain at heart! Please, no more stories featuring Freedom Phalanx as enemies EVER again after I20.
.
As for the Issue announcement:
The Villain Strike Force alone makes it worth the price of entry. And I don't even like TFs/SFs. -
The arc was fun. The one woman using her powers to distract the bad guys was cool (if only Illusion Controllers got something that neat).
The costumes were great and the customs were not too annoying in their power selections.
I didn't like that you couldn't exit the last mission, and I couldn't find any Inspiration dealer in the mission as the mission briefing seemed to imply. Still, playing a Stalker means you can hit and run if you need to, and even though I was out of Inspirations for the final Elite Boss, hit and run made for a prolonged, but safe and guaranteed final victory.
Five stars.
Completed on a level 19 MA/SR Stalker, difficulty +0x2B with 1 death (a pair of Lts got some lucky hits in). -
Well, well, well. Look who it is.
Am I to guess the arc ID number, because it occurs nowhere in the video, video description or your post...as far as I can tell (keeping in mind I'm up all night with a mild food poisoning/indigestion...never eat at Olive Garden if you can help it).
Ima jump in game and look it up. This arc seems perfect for the middle of the night and food-induced insomnia (plus Olive Garden is VERY Circle of Thorns...no, make that Vahzilok). -
Tyrant is dead and the Loyalist machine just keeps marching in the direction he last pointed it in, fueled by cult of personality.

Quote:The fatal flaw, of course, is that you have no energy when you're dead.No way. The whole concept of energy aura is that you have unlimited energy. Conserve power isn't up enough to simulate that, but drain is.
EA and ElA both sacrifice protecting your green bar to better protect your blue bar. Not coincidentally, EA and ElA share the ignoble distinction of being the two weakest melee defensive sets, most likely because of this trade-off.
Of course, these days, IOs can cover a host of sins.
Personally, all I think EA is really missing is enough DDR to hold on to its Defense. Though I'm also a fan of nerfing Overload and distributing some of that potential across the set as a whole.
I like EA thematically and visually. It's just poorly thought-out compared to its sister set and forebear Ice Armor, which stands heads and shoulders above it for survivability and has Endurance management that is almost as good.
I will say this for both Stalker and Brute Energy Aura: they provide a unique play experience.
I find myself wishing Stalkers had been designed with combat stealth like Brute EA has.
