Haven't seen it mentioned at all yet, but if you are looking for IO sets you can check out the Paragon Market now, they do sales/discounts on certain sets each month and the cool thing is you can start using them at lvl 10 and they are good all the way to 50 with no fall off in performance.

I recently came back after 2 years away from the game(had played since release) and love the new changes they've made to just about everything. Atlas feels like a relevant zone now where you can actually spend a good bit of time instead of just logging in and running sewers from lvls 1-8 and then going to Hollows, which used to be my old routine.

Also with regards to the Twinshot arcs, the 1st one is pretty boring, though it's kind of cool to run through Manticore's mansion. However the 2nd and 3rd stories you can get from her are pretty good, especially the one with the Praetorian Clockwork, and you get a couple of badges for doing her arcs.

Given the developments with Sister Psyche and also being partially responsible for the death of State's daughter, I wonder if they aren't going to do some arc where Manticore descends into darkness and either becomes a villain or gets pretty close to it. He's walked that line so many times, and now there are sufficient developments to finally push him over that edge. Or he might see heroes and villains as the problem and just try to eliminate them all.

Recently respec'd my Emp/Rad and I've always had the electric pool on her for the nice endurance recovery power. Normally I'd use it in conjuction with my nuke, Atomic Blast, fire off the nuke, pop a blue, and then hit my end recovery power and fill back up off anything left standing so I was still in the fight to buff and attack. I had always been curious about the Psychic Mastery pool though so finally decided to try it.

I love Dominate and Mind Over Body so far, both have proven to be useful powers. Telekinesis and Mass Hypnosis just seemed a complete waste to me so I passed on those and took World of Confusion. Honestly I am less than impressed. It never seems to work in terms of the confuse effect, and I'm wondering if maybe it needs to be slotted a specific way? By the time I was done with my respec I only had 2 slots to put into it so I went with just generic IOs, 1 end rdx, 1 accuracy, and 1 confuse duration until I can find or afford a decent IO set that I like the 3-slot bonus for.

Anyone use this power and love it/find it effective? If so would love to see some comments or suggestions since I'm already thinking about going back to Electric or trying out Dark Mastery.

Though not sure who I will bring at this point, working on a couple of new toons, but need to check my badges on some of my older ones. Realized last night afterward if I would have brought my 50 she would have gotten the last badge she needed for the Freedom Phalanx TF Accolade, doh!

Any ideas how long this might take to run? I should be able to make it for the first part, maybe 2nd depending on time constraints.

Recently came back into the game so I'm trying to get my lvl 50 into the Incarnate trials and what not, but first have to beat the intro arc to the Incarnate system.

My first question is can you even solo the final mission "Find the Well of Furies" on anything other than a tank or scrapper? I breeze through the mission but cannot solo the final boss to save my life. Tried fighting him straight up, he two shots me every time before I can even heal. Went in with a full tray of reds and purples, had enough to pop 3 rounds of 4 purples and got him down to about 1/10th hp and then the minute my final round of purples went down he one shot kills me. Have died about 8-9 times trying to solo this final Elite Boss. It seems like he is immune to just about everything, even cosmic burst fully slotted to stun, it never works on him. I also find it retarded that my nuke slotted for damage along with 4 red inspiration hits him for 214 damage and then he turns around and wacks off 3/4 of my hp with one axe hit.

Trying this on my emp/rad defender, who is my only 50. It sucks because with Empathy you can't use but 3 of your powers on yourself so you are gimped from the get go, but this final boss is just leaving me scratching my head. I have never had a problem soloing most content in the game. Wondering if anyone who has solo'd this on a defender could offer some tips. Honestly I would grab help/team for the boss, but Infinity seems like it is deader now than it was 2-3 years ago when I left the first time.

Sorry guys, I totally no-showed on this one and didn't mean to. Got stuck at work late and by the time I got home and had dinner/gf aggro, I completely forgot.

My first and only 50 is an Emp/Rad and I absolutely love the power combo. With IO sets you can make a real beast of a defender. Some of the sets I would suggest looking at would be Numina's and Doctored Wounds for Heal Other/Heal Aura/Recov Aura/Regen Aura. Devestation, Undermined Defenses, and Sting of the Manticore are also decent sets for your rad blast attacks.

You will want to focus on some offense as well, most of the teams and TFs I run with, I mainly throw out buffs at the start and then spot heal here and there, so I need to be able to contrbute some damage/defbuffs(with rad blast) the majority of the time. Quite honestly if you have your regen/recovery auras slotted well you aren't going to be doing a lot of healing unless your team is horrible.

Are these "trials" only for 50+ or incarnates??

I've been away from the game for a little over the year and now feel like a complete nOOb, lol. Still trying to figure out all of this new stuff they put in.

I'd love to join. I can bring either my Emp/Rad(Emerald Lass lvl 50) or Sonic/Dark defender(Silver Sparrow lvl 37), depending on what we need.

How long have you been playing City of Heroes? - Since I3 or so...I can't remember quite honestly, but it has been awhile.

Why did you originally choose to play and/or stay on Infinity? - It was a fun server, everyone was friendly for the most part, had a lot of vets that ran fun events and it seemed to have more of a family atmosphere where people kind of lived and let live. Great teams and PuGs for the most part and always fun TFs to run.

What are your plans for "Freedom"? - Right now just trying to get back into the game, want to focus on getting my 35-40 lvl toons up to 50, but with some of the new powersets I know I will get derailed with altitis at some point.

What keeps you from playing City of Heroes for gross stretches of time? (Kids, jobs, spouses, other hobbies, fill in the ______.)

Work mostly, I work in the oil/gas field as a landman so I am constantly pounding the ground and out talking to land owners in the far backwoods parts of the eastern US with the new gas boom in Ohio and Pennsylvania. I am often living out of a hotel for 4-5 days a week and only home on weekends if I am lucky. I have been in the same area for about 2 months now, 3 hours from my house. Hotel internet is most of the time too spotty for efficient gaming. When home on the weekends I try to catch up with friends and now that it's college football season get down to WVU for a couple of games. Also I Mountain Bike 60-80 miles a week so that cuts into my "fun" time. Just don't really have a lot of time for games and when I do I mostly play Modern Warfare 2 PVP.

And finally, have you blurred the lines between my two neat categories? Do you play in-game with anyone you know "IRL," to use one of those dreaded stereotypical abbreviations that haunt the gamers' reputation?

Nope, a lot of my friends are married or not "dorky" enough, in their words, to play COH although I do play some other online games (Modern Warfare, Star Trek Online) with some R/L friends.

I just came back today and figured I'd give it another try for 3 months or so after taking at least a 1+ year break. Glad to see a few familiar names on the forum.

I sort of feel like a nOOb though now, is there like a crash course guide to bring up to speed on any new changes? I figure I am going to have some respec hell on some of my toons having been gone so long.

I've got Vista. Drivers are updated as far as I can get them. My graphics card on my desktop is ancient(about 3 years old) and it stll runs the game just fine w/o any problems.

It's odd, whenever I talk to contacts or look at info for other players, it doesn't show the pic of the person, just a black space. Basically what happens is the game will be playing fine and then it will start to freeze up, then the screen goes really dark and I can still see some effects, and then it will finally just lock up and I have to reset.

It's annoying, but for me I'm more worried trying to figure out the stupid graphics crash I keep having with the new patch(es). The game runs for about an hour and then conks out and freezes mid battle and just sits there with a black screen and a sound loop. It doesn't matter if I run it at optimum settings or in safe mode, it still does it. It's driving me nuts because I just bought my new laptop which is loaded out and the game crashes every hour, but on my 4-yr old desktop it runs fine.

I've been having the same issue at times over the last week, but it comes and goes. I've even turned my graphics settings down to minimum and my connection speed is great, just don't know what it is. It seems to be happening in the more populated zones as you get towards the center areas where most of the people are hanging out.

Didn't see any posts on this yet, but I'm having a graphics crash issue where the game just freezes and the sound is stuck in a loop. Seems awfully odd because I'm trying it on my brand new laptop and it crashes after 45 minutes every time I play the game. My 4 year old rig with an older GEforce graphics card is handling the game fine, so I don't understand what is wrong with it on the laptop. Have checked the settings and have the most up to date drivers. Another weird thing it is doing is I can't see any profile images when I talk to a contact or look up info on another player. Anyone else having this issue?

I'm down for Posi on Friday night, should have a couple of toons in that range so not sure what I'll bring yet.
