  1. Anything that cant do reasonable amounts of damage cant usually keep up my interest. Regardless of AT.

My brain... what are you doing to my brain...?

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's not all that difficult, really.

    I'll explain that in short

First we figure out how much damage the enemy is going to do after -dmg is applied. Then we figure out what the remaining damage is after the damage debuffs. Then we figure out how much of this damage we're going to avoid completely, and finally figure how much of the remaining damage we will resist. All in order to find out the total mitigated damage.

Also remember to use accuracy modifier for the chain DPS as well as the Arcanatime formula to get more realistic DPS figures.
  5. You actually are missing one of the prerequisites. Check the 3rd last set of IO badges, you're missing the "last" one of that set needed for the accolade.

    Sets did improve character performance

    [/ QUOTE ]

What does that have to do with game getting easier? No one is forcing you to use those sets. If you want to retain challenge, avoid sets.

The game cant be made harder because of sets because *gasp* some people dont use the sets. It isn't like ever since I9 everyone had fully kitted out characters.

    [ QUOTE ]
Certain sets perform much better than others

    [/ QUOTE ]

Certain sets perform much better than others in certain sections of the game. I cant, off the top of my head, think of a set which is better in all areas of the game than another set designed for the same purpose (e.g, damage, debuff, etc.)

Several games are harder to play than CoX

What does that have to do with CoX getting easier (in your opinion)?

For a start, you could roll an infamous combo of powersets or create a second build for an alt of yours without IOs!

An opinion can never be wrong.....
It might be unpopular and not shared but it cant be wrong.

    [/ QUOTE ]
True. But an opinion isn't necessarily a fact. Which is why you shouldn't distribute your opinion as a fact.

    [ QUOTE ]
Its like someone saying he thinks there are aliens, and everyone says hes nuts and he needs to prove it first, while they cant prove there arent aliens either.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But the thing is, the way you put your message across it came "there are aliens, I know people who also know there are aliens and I had proofs of alien existence but they were destroyed" instead "I think there are aliens".

    [ QUOTE ]

Or in school when you had to interpret a poem or a book of an ancient author, and the teacher says your wrong, how does he know ?

    [/ QUOTE ]

From my *very* recent (in fact, only a couple of days) that isn't how it works. Least in Finland. Teachers dont tell you there's only 1 way to interpret a poem.

What you expressed as facts in the previous pages are now opinions. Funny aint it?

I've been largely staying out of this thread (and its "Nerf SS/WP!" twin) because trying to pin down Moghedien on an argument is like trying to nail jelly to the wall.

Get close to something that'd force him to concede he was wrong on some specific and he'll shoot off at a tangent, throw something else that's clearly incorrect in (or at best unprovable - e.g. SS/WP "datamining", dxp weekend dual boxing farmers, CoX is easier than other MMOs, only Ill/Rad controllers can solo GMs, mobs used to be much harder...), and off things go in the new direction.

It's impressive in a way, and very entertaining to read, but in the interests of my blood pressure I'll mostly continue to lurk.

    [/ QUOTE ]

After having read most of both of the threads I pretty much agree with what you said Standoff. It is really entertaining watching Moghedien trying to desperately evade facts and tossing out new false assumptions to distract us.

Anyways, just something for you to think about Moghedien:
If a mob is intendendly buffed, but for some reason the buff becomes more powerful than the devs wanted and they have to take part of it off, does this make the mob easier or not?

An example, take an attribute. We call it X.

Scenario 1: X has the value 1, it is considered too low and devs want to buff it

    =>Scenario 2: X is buffed by 100% => (1+1)X = 2X.
Devs realize attribute X is too powerful now.

    =>Scenario 3: Devs reduce attribute X by 25% (=partially) => 2X * (1-0.25) = 1.5X.
Attribute X is now 50% more powerful than it was in scenario 1 which results in the mob being more powerful.

Hoping you understood what the above example was all about, I have a question for you: in the set of scenarios above, did the mobs end up made easier?
  15. But there's also a thing involved which goes outside the boundaries of AT/powerset/difficulty combinations. It's called player skill.

Skill, in this game, could quite widely be defined as knowing how powers work and consequently how to come up with proper builds for powerset combinations.

You exclaim that it's not possible for certain powersets to play missions on invincible*. Wrong. It's impossible for certain player/build combinations to do it.

*I'm not even going down to soloing EBs or AVs. They were never meant to be soloable.

    SS and WP

    [ QUOTE ]
I dont think most players agree with the devs that the aoes of various brute primaries have been cut down in range and radius.

Why nerf the radius of medicore attacks while leaving the best pbaoe with the biggest radius : Footstomp , untouched ?

Maybe someone can explain to me why those aoes with small radius to start with and no secondary effects to speak of needed nerfing while Footstomp seems to be ok for the devs ?

All in patch notes of today.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They werent "nerfed". In an earlier patch all of the AoEs had their radiuses inadvertently increased and this patch just corrected them.
  17. DSorrow

    SS and WP

I think we should nerf WP. It's overpowered.

Also nerf SS, evidently it is OVAPOWARD.

Nerfing IOs would also be a good idea because they let us stretch outside the limits of our powersets. SRSLY!

    I CALL NERFFFFFFFF!

    ....

Seriously though, having played both WP and SS to 50 I never found SS to be *that* much overpowered. WP on the other hand, I dont think I ever had any difficulties against anything anywhere between levels 16 to 50.
  18. The overall problem with old MoG was that even though you gained insane amounts of Def and Res the -HP and -heal was too much. It is true though, that the old MoG was better against single targets. Why? That's easy. It takes a single target a lot longer to activate 20 powers (5% hit chance) to hit you once than it takes, 3, 5 or 10 mobs to do the same.

With your HP dropped down to 10% (IIRC) the res/def just werent enough against multiple targets.

    Ice/SS Build

Ok you said 1-2 hours a week. Whatever. You missed the point completely.

To make it simple: If you earn 500k inf/hour and play a character for 2 hours, you get 1mil.
If you play 2 characters for 1 hour each you also get 1mil.

It's not about playing the same character, it's about knowing how to make inf.

    Ice/SS Build

I am right down to reality. I never said I play the same character 1-2 hours a day. I play my alts too, in fact I almost never play my lvl 50s.

That's because you have millions of buying/selling things on the market

    [/ QUOTE ]

True. But I started from 0 inf. Just like everyone else. Learn the ropes of the market and without actually playing a character you can easily get 100mil/week. WW in fact encourages offline earning.

    [ QUOTE ]
    and farm

    [/ QUOTE ]
I never farm for inf. I might do it to skip an annoying level range (such as 1-14)

    [ QUOTE ]
    whenever I play my 50 for 1-2 hours I don't get 30-60mil, marketing included

    [/ QUOTE ]

Do your maths again. 1-2 hours a day, that's 7-14 hours a week. Take the top values, 100mil/14hours. I'm not getting 30mil/hour. If I do pure marketeering I might get close to that (5-10mins of marketeering a day, 50-70mil profits a week).
  22. DSorrow

    Ice/SS Build

It's not time consuming at all I find. 5-10 mins of ebil marketeering a day + regular playing can easily get me 50-100mil a week. And that's with 1-2 hours a day played total.

If I only do marketeering I might get somewhere between 30 to 70 mil.

    Ice/SS Build

May I ask... What is so hard about getting inf?
  24. DSorrow

    Ice/SS Build

Well I have most of the expensive stuff already. And inf is soooo easy to come by anyways it isnt the problem.

The problem is making the build good
