  1. Tie between new/proliferated powersets and the ITF.
  2. Objective:
I tend to play primarily on Tuesday and Wednesday with ocasional sessions other days of the week. this makes it difficult to get on TFs as not as many are run early week as on weekends, also my sessions on other days are usually an hour or so.
I tend to prefer to team and rarely am I leader, I also rarely have open arcs that I have not outleveled. This means I do not usually get merits through arcs.
In the month since I13 launched I have played the following characters:
    lv 50 Mastermind (Has no remaining arcs and therefore no way of getting merits other than SF/Trials or Ouroborus arcs. Has not earned any Merits yet);
    lv 50 Dominator (Has some remaining arcs in the Patron and Vanguard contact pools. Unfortunately, has only found farm teams and not a single mission team all month. No merits yet.);
    lv 40ish Arachnos Soldier (Gained a level soloing, teamed on a radio team and helped out here and there. No merits yet);
    lv 50 Blaster (Got on a few PI teams, did one Respec trial. 25 Merits.);
    lv 50 Scrapper (Teamed a lot on various and SG teams, completed 2 Respec Trials and an Ouro arc along with countless other missions and was able to afford a Karma -KB IO);
lv 27ish Defender (Teams regularly, gained 2 levels, went on a Synapse and has something like 50 Meris.

    Subjectively:
This is generally how I tend to play and I do not see myself especially enjoying the changes I would have to make to my gaming style in order to acumulate enough Merits to actually have them make a significant impact on my characters.

EDIT: I have also noticed a significant DECREASE in TFs being run in general and an INCREASE in Ouroborus teams since I13 launched.
  3. nVidia is really screwing up with their newer 8 series drivers. I haven't been able to use anything since 177.79.
    178.13 disabled digital vibrance settings.
180.48 first disabled direct fan control, then crashed my system forcing a safemode uninstall and a system restore.
  4. Hmm now I've got an odd question.

The current driver for a geforce 8 series on windows xp 32bit on the Nvidia website is 175.19
Now the card is made by EVGA, on EVGA's website the current driver fot the geforce 8 series on Win XP 32bit is 177.79
Should I be downloading the EVGA driver since they made the card or play it safe and stick to Nvidia's?
  5. So is this the Villains general gripes and suggestions thread? Kewl. I'll list my top 5:

1: Grandville: I have spent over 30 minutes trying to find a way to get to a mission door with my no vertical movement characters.
The elevators really really REALLY need to be marked on the map OR a mission marker must point you to the appropriate elevator first (that would p/o ppl with vertical movement tho so the first one is better.

2: Grandville (and the rest of the game): I want to get my money's worth when selling quickly between missions.
There is no reason a Quartermaster who sells all origins should not buy all origins at premium. However the Granville Quartermaster does not. In fact the only one who sells all origings and DOES buy at premium in the entire game is the Vanguard one. If HE can, why can't the others?

3: Nerva Archepelago: Nerva is very big.
I would love to see a quick warp system in place for reaching the far and away areas not connected by land. A mini-Ferry or something.
I mean seriously, how often do you see (non-aquatic) superheroes swimming miles to get somewhere? ...on a regular basis?

4: Hidden/Unlockable contacts: There are several of these in the game and the are usually more interesting than the regular contacts. They give much needed variety since we don't have "alternative" zones like the heroes do. However they ere often hard to find and never (of course) introduced by other contacts.
Please implement a "rumor" message board or some other form of hint system in each zone so players at least have the opportunity to figure these guys out on their own without looking online.

5: Giant Monsters: We need more and we need more incentive to fight them.

I got a Nvidia 9600 GT and have issues sometimes where the screen gets dark (like I'm playing in the night time). This happens usually in a dark room or when I'm visiting a black/dark web page. Is it my settings?

I also get a Nvidia control panel window that pops up every time I start my computer.

    Thanks in advance.

You may want to check your monitor first. If your monitor is LCD:
1: Make sure your contrast is not set too high, many set it to 100% but that tends to wash out color definition. Same with brightness. Try setting both to 50% and adjusting from there.
2: Make sure you are not using any built in image processing features on tour monitor.
  7. Just my 2 Inf here after reading only the original post and the dev response posts:

1: Unconstructive and counter-constructive are 2 different things. Please focus on the latter more than the former.

2: I understand that the mods do not need to justify their actions to the forumites. I also understand thet the mods are not arbitrary in their desisions. However, with modding decisions being sometimes subjective, the mods use a level of discretionary authority, therefor to avoid and misunderstandings within the community, between the mods and the forumites, any mod must be accompanied by an explanation to the modded poster. The explanation must be specific "Forum rules violation" is not an acceptable explanation even if the violation is very obvious. This ofcourse does not apply to posts lost in a threadnuke.
  8. I apologise for being terse. I should not have posted like that.

This thread does not deal with SLI because SLI does almost nothing to the game.

The Setting guide at the top of the thread will apply for in game and driver settings with or without SLI.

As for other SLI related tweaks you could try starting a new thread or check here:

If you weren't sleeping the Nictus (who have no protection against it) or damaging Romulus only then you really were useless. Of course if you are incapable of doing either of those then you've done something horribly wrong with your dom build .

    mmkay?
  10. There is another thread dealing with SLI.
If you are looking for help or advice on a particular problem, start a new thread.
This thread is for posting NVidia tweaks and settings only.
  11. Kheldians can have pool travel. Just not Teleportation and Flight.

VEATS should not be locked out of the Fitness pool because neither Willpower nor Regen are.

VEATs should be locked out of the Leadership pool though.

Also the Builds aren't that tight. I so far I have not been able to design a SoA build on Mids that did not have ample room for the full Fitness pool and a Travel power.

The VEAT inherant is not the most powerfull inherant by far but perfect for the AT.

Actualy in my expereince i found the entire TF to be difficult for the archtype with the powersets i chose.
Specifically a Dominator with Mind Control and Psi-Blast.

Not really. Sleep is only slightly better than Knockback as far as Mez goes.

Nictus Essences are immune to all debuffs and controls except a huge gaping hole in Sleep.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ok I conceed that point. Sleeps will probably gain popularity due to the Imperious TF.

But I stand by my opinion on Sleeps for the rest of the game.
There is just too much reliance on AoE damage to make sleep a really viable control.

    Masterminds

Masterminds / Necromancy / Grave Night: The henchman The “Grave Knight” will now use his Necromancy Sword for all of his attacks. This should also help him cycle through all of his sword attack powers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Huh?
    What's this about then?
I checked my MM on test and the only difference I noticed is the blue glowy swords are gone.
Is there something I missed in the MM forums or something?

    Edit:
I found out about the multi sword problem.
    Request:
Instead of giving all upgrades of Grave Knights the 1st upgrade sword, please give them all the 2nd upgrade blue glowy sword.

The mouse scroll wheel will now affect scrollbars when the mouse is over a scrollable area.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I can scroll up, but not down... is there a setting somewhere that I am missing?

    edit: nvm.. I found it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    ^ This.
There was no information that there would be a setting to adjust scroll speed, and it is completely ridiculous that it is automatically set to 1 on all characters when the default setting is 20 and there was no announcement to warn players that they would need to turn the sensitivity up to use it. Also there is no option to turn this feature off although why you would want to I don't know.

This is a hugely awesome improvement to UI and many players don't even know it is working. I wonder how many unnecessary bug reports were filed about this?

    Eisenzahn is correct.

Electrical armor makes no sense for the stalker AT in its current form. Low hps and low defensive numbers mean this set offers nothing practical to us. Perhaps the intended AT changes need to happen before the set is worthwhile?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Shhhhhhh...
I'll suffer the gimpy Elec Armor to get my hands on the sweet, sweet Elec Melee...
  17. Wow, haven't done this yet but from the comments here it looks like this is a real interesting encounter. It looks to me like the devs are going for 2 things here (but I could be wrong:

1: Make tankers vital again: since the nicti are undebuffable, defenders/trollers/corrs are no longer render a tanking character redundant.

2: Divide and conquer strategy: The AVs work together just like a player group would so the only logical way to deal wih the overlapping support is to pull the supporters as far away from each other as possible. Not surprising they want to inplement this strategy considering the roman theme, and with the focus on tankers dividing is easier the more you have.

    Gameplay/Power Issue

There is currently a long-standing issue with Gravity Control/Wormhole that puts this powerset at a significant disadvantage when facing the new mobs in Cimerora.

From what I can see, these mobs have a shield power that grants them resistance to all forms of Control. Fortunately, it's toggled off when they're just standing around. If you can sneak up on them or get the first shot in, you're fine.

The Problem: Wormhole generates aggro about a second prior to the stun effect being applied. The Cimeroran mobs have plenty of time to activate their shield and become resistant before the stun takes effect.
End result: Gravity Control does not have an effective stun when facing Cimeroran enemies. Gravity Controllers are therefore required to rely solely on their Gravity Distortion Field (with a much longer recharge timer) for any kind of AoE control.

    Edit: clarified last sentence.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Same thing applies to Plant control / Spore Burst.
  19. Any chance that the gatuitously huge undertaking uf updating mission storyarcs that have become redundant due to current storylines will happen?

For instance, Crimson's missions to stop negotiations between Nemesis army and Malta where it is stated Nemesis had been presumed gone for years when he is obviously quite alive and well and harassing Lady Grey?

    320MB VRAM

    [/ QUOTE ]

Boom! That there could be your culprit. You may not be able to do triple buffering with only that amount of video RAM. What resolution are you running at and are you using high quality textures?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I am currently running at 1280 x 960 with 2xAA, DoF off and everything else max.
  21. After testing several graphics options setups with the driver and in game I have discovered something very odd concerning Vertical Sync and Tripple Buffering.
Tearing will occur if both are disabled, or if both are enabled. Tearing is only prevented when V-Sync is enabled (in driver or in game) and tripple buffering is OFF.
Obviously this should not be happening but if anyone is experiencing tearing with V-Sync enabled, try turning Tripple Buffering off.

I have not tested this with other games yet so do not know if this is a driver issue or specifically CoX.

Also a brief note on Bloom and Depth of Field:
With Depth of Field enabled Regular Bloom will decrease the Depth of Field blurry effect, Heavy Bloom will increase Depth of Field blurry effect.

    (I am running a Core 2 Duo 2.66 Ghz, 2GB RAM, GForce 8800GTS 320MB VRAM EVGA Driver 169.44)
  22. Also, Negative LOD bias option states that apps that use Neg LOD Bias use it to sharpen still images but it can cause Aliasing when the scene is in motion.
Does COH use this and if so is Allow the best setting?
  23. Hi. I Have annother setting in my control panel between
Texture filtering - Negative LOD bias
    and
    Texture filtering - Trilinear optimization
    it is
    Texture Filtering - Quality
What should this be set to?

    The settings are
    High Quality
    Quality (default)
    Performance
    High Performance.

When anything but High Quality is selected "Texture filtering - Trilinear Optimization" and "Texture filtering - Anisotropic Sample Optimization" are NOT greyed out.

I hope the next swell and neato feature is automatic gesturing when you speak in game.
    Then maybe a voice synthesyser.
Then maybe a biology system where you have to eat or loose End, Drink or loose HP, Bathe or loose Inf, use the washroom or loose XP when you have an Accident.
    Permadeath.
    A pay for XP/Inf/Prestige system.
Veteran's rewards that give you a respec and nothing else.
    Oh wait....
