The new forums are ok I just wish that:
1: They had had a proper beta to ensure things like the Dev Digest and the Sig/Avatar uploaders were working right.
2: They had stylized the themes to more greatly resemble the old ones.
3: They put a damn Known issues and workarounds section right on the top of the main page. -
Yay Yay it's sharing time!

[u]Suppress Extra Player FX[u]
Doesn't work. It has no effect.
When I'm a hero and I see another hero with Dispersion Bubble and a host of other powers and, well, I see them. Nothing is being suppressed. And they meet all the requirements set for by the ex-Dev, poz, who said in a post now deleted from the forums:
[ QUOTE ]
The intention of "Suppress Extra Player FX" was to reduce the number of "unimportant" FX displayed. This was targeting city zones, mainly near trainers.
With the Suppress FX options turned on, here are the heuristics used to determine if a continuing FX will be shown.
1. If it's not a continuing FX then show it.
2. If it's on you show it.
3. If it's on a critter show it.
4. If it's from a villain and you're a hero (or vice versa) show it.
5. If it's from you or to you, show it. (So you see all bubbles you cast.)
6. If the target or source is on you team show it.
In April last year, a fix was made to the code which fixed a loophole where you may not see some teammate FX (such as when they were debuffed by a critter). This may explain the change in behavior that you've seen.
So, I believe that the suppress code is working as we intended. We decided that anything that happened to a teammate or that you triggered was important. This feature was never meant to help on mission maps; it was meant to help spammed group heals at Ms. Liberty and sundry running around town.
[/ QUOTE ]
It has never worked.
[/ QUOTE ]
Suppress Extra Player FX only supresses a power if the source and target are "friendly" players not on your team.
AoEs that can affect players not on a team with with the caster should not suppress.
The best way to test if this is working is to have 3 unteamed players, one a buffer. If the buffer buffs you and the 3rd player you should only see the effects on you, not them. -
Dude. It's $5. Skip 1 latte a month. Srsly.

Reminds me of a game I sued to play on I think the Super Nintendo. Does your DevDir play a lot of emulators on company machines?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm confused. Did you sue them to be able to play the game or did you sue them so you could play it on the SNES?

1 is gonna happen in I15, confirmed.
3 is an AI problem the devs are working on
5 is something I really want too. -
In a literal sense you are right.
In a practical sense you are wrong.
The food is still out there, it's just far less convenient for those who want it to obtain it since it's gone out of style.
And sure you can get that stuff from tickets. But is anyone? Unlikely. -
Solve the problem in a few easy steps:
1: Create a character.
2: Use search to find people who are not looking to farm.
3: Team with these people and add them to your friends list.
4: Find an active SG that is not focused on farming, or start one yourself.
5: Play the game the way you want.
That said...
Ticket drops need to be reduced by 1/2 while increasing merit drops in story arcs 2x.
OR
Ticket drops remain as is but Presteige, Inf and XP is only purchacable with tickets, halving the value of AE missions.
Regular and uncommon salvage needs to drop normally in AE missions, as do normal enhancements and regular IO recepies.
I agree that power supression needs to be implemented throughout the entire AE building, as well as the Markets.
Devs should keep deleting missions that are pure farms with no artistic integrity. There will still be missions that are good farms by chance, we don't need missions specifically for that.
If chocolate cake could be as nutritious as a well balanced meal as well as low calorie and fat, but still taste the same, every one would eat nothing but chocolate cake. Would this be a problem? Yes. Why? Because there are people who do not like chocolate, or cake, or any combination of the 2. So if it's "what's for dinner" there will be people going hungry. -
Half Life 2 was a Valve game. It worked because it is in fact only available on Steam. There is actually no way to play HL2 off Steam. The only benefit of the box for HL2 is using the disc to install instead of waiting for the steam download. Most Valve/Source Engine games are like that.
Non Valve games available for purchace on Steam have 2 versions, the box and the Steam. They are unfortunately not interchangable. -
Several issues ago there was a bug with cape animations where there was a 5% chance you would crash if there was a cape being rendered and animated by your machine. If they say there could be a problem rendering multiple back details, I would rather they fix the problem.

Subjective: I would like to be able to use individual Mastermind Minions as mobs in game. One of the RWZ missins has you freeing an Oni and fighting a Lich so I know it is possible.
I know this is a thread for custom critters, but since ther is not an I14 MA Mission Creator thread posted by the devs:
We need more emotes for civilian escorts that are appropriate for a person in distress.
We need to be able to place rescue targets behind destructible doors since there are mobs that thematically "take no prisoners". -
Bug: Missing Powersets in custom character editor. Corruptor: Sonic Blast; Mastermind: Poison.
-
It would be a tremendous help to the creative process if we were able to do 1 of 2 things:
1: Select NPC powersets for custom critters.
2: Edit the appearance of NPC enemies.

is it a bug that i cannot change the color of the interior of the bolero only the outside. The only way i found that i can change it is if i have what ever color i want enabled for everything. Also while flying i cannot use the effects to change costume. Also another bug is that sometimes the magic fortune random buff does not appear when a player accepts the fortune.
[/ QUOTE ]
The Bolero thing is Known. Trenchcoats work this way as well. I expect they will simply remove the tabs for "interior" colors.
BAB is aware of the emotes not working while flying and will fix this eventually.
The Fortunes don't seem to wor on SKed characters. It may affect others too. /Bug this whenever you find a different situation in which this is happening in game. -
Cyas Ex. Sad to see ya go. Good luck and catch ya around.

We really need a workaround for the chat bind key as well.
Repro: bind beginchat to any keyboard key (ie: ]), use bind. Start typing. The bound key will register as a keystroke as soon as you hit any other key. -
Honestly, the High collar clips much much worse with almost all shoulder options than it does with most back options. I would suggest the High Collar be changed to a Shoulders option instead of a Cape Mantle.

I think this mission was bad... But i believe it will make it into the Hall based on the rules of HoF as I understand them. As of my search today, this mission had 882 ratings, and showed a 5 star rating. As I understand it, Hall of Fame requires over 1000+ votes, and a rating of better than 4 or 4.5 (not completely sure which). If this really is the sort of mission that warrants Hall of Fame status, I submit that achieving Hall of Fame status is more about advertising than superior mission design and/or writing.
[/ QUOTE ]
You are incorrect, to make it into HoF an arc needs to actually get 100 5 star votes.
The average rating and total number of votes have nothing to do with it afaIk. -
Nice video.... it's just... It would be nice if Villains wasn't treated like it didn't exist. Just cause you get it automatically now, it's not like Villains and the GvsE edition didn't pull their weight, y'know? And to not even see them touched apon in the promotional material? Oh well.
Anyway, congratulations on the successfull launch of the new issue. -
This is an awesome set I plan to buy ASAP. Keep up the awesome, Jay!

2 possible fixes for the robes (that i'm sure won't work but maybe will help inspire?):
1: Instead of a single robe that covers the entire body, perhaps it should be split up among multiple body parts, so to have a full wizzard robe one would have to select a robe option for chest, arms, bottoms and feet individually, that way the robe could "stretch" around each individual body part like skirts and kilts do.
2: If that doesn't work... What about a split robe, asian style where the robe is closed at the chest but open at the sides of the legs? Kinda like wearing 2 trenchcoats or capes one backwards. There could even be 2 variants, one starting at the shoulders and one at the waist. -
You're the *%&^ Jay. Keep up the killer workm, man.
