  1. This evening when I got home from work, II found a notice from my AV program saying it found the Trojan.Win32.Swisyn.cedt trojan in the file c:\program files(x86)\NCSoft\Launcher\PMBWrapperLib.dll

Has anyone else noticed this before, and why after all this time is it showing up now? Did NCSoft have something hit them unknowingly?

    Its Not My Fault

So recently, DJ Nexus of The Cape decided to set me up and throw me under the bus, claiming I requested a song of our Station Manager (DJ Templar) which he hates with a passion.

The question is what is the best way to exact revenge? An arena match? Send out an in game hitman? Challenge him to a music knowledge trivia match?

    How would you do this?

((No one will actually get hurt doing this, but yes this did happen, and it did freak me out when I got a text about it.))

    Theme Shows

Strange, I have thought about that, although when I do Underground shows, I tend to focus on new artists out there, try to get them some exposure. Those I do once ever few months now. Used to do them weekly. Anyway, I do like the idea of doing a show like you are talking about, definitely something to consider.

Doc, Many of us DJs have done Cover shows, and will continue to. They tend to be a lot of fun.

    Theme Shows

Jsut remember, I am asking what you would do for a unique theme show. For instance, an underwear themed show, a swimwear themed show (both have been done on a regular basis).

What bands would you pick for those themes? What Songs?

I want specifics, I want the nitty gritty. Music is a personal choice for people and I want to know what your personal choices are.

It wasn't totally my fault it was Stinky. The Semi transporting it had a problem with its refrigeration unit. :P

    *Gives Mrwrk some Tuna*

Well, yes Kittens, Catgirls, Puppehs, Ferrets, Fro's, Coz's and Shecky's. Plus a bunch of other cool people and neat things, but that's not the point.

I think the point was on top of Coz's head.
  11. I remember seeing @Salsakitten at Cape shows on various alts over the years. She even recorded a station ID for us as Obsidian Dreams, which is available for the public to download.

A friendly and fun person to be around. My condolences to her family and close friends. /em holdtorch
  12. I don't know how much of it is hate, or how much of it is, please fix xyz.

I've been playing since the 1 year anniversary of this game, and I still play. Not as much, but that is because of RL and I prefer not to solo anymore.

Are there things about the game that I don't like? Yeah, but that is true about any game. Nothing is perfect. I just prefer to sit back and enjoy what I do, which for me is the simple game I started playing.

No worries, there is not a cutoff for registering, That is jsut to have a custom badge made. People can show up at the last minute.

  14. CapeCon has been named as such by the attendants of last years Chicago M&G. We had over 40 people attend last year from across the world (including Sweden), and are getting set up again for it this year. All CoH players and friends are welcome and there is no charge.

Here is a link to the reservation page:

    Theme Shows

    So tell me virtue.

This is an era of Pandora, Slacker, Spotify, and Internet radio where people don't have to think about what music they are playing. So I wonder, if you had to do a theme show of music, what would you use and give some examples of songs that you would play. And I'm not talking just a genre, the most original and unique one(s) might get used for one of my shows on The Cape.

    Welcome back.

Wow, I haven't heard of the Ducks in a long time. Not sure if there is much as far as what you are looking for straight up, but you can always try a few. Hope you find what you are looking for.

Give me my quick in and out momma ship raids, my under an hour every time TFs, and the right to stealth many a mish type. If I wanted to play kill it all and let the gawds sort it out I wouldnt be on a super hero game, id be on AOC and get boobs with my meaningless bloodshed.

Batman is alot bigger of an ideal I see players trying to be like now days then superman. Maybe its Statesmans Dbagness that has influenced paragons populace as they see the truth about him.

And batman does what? thats right sneak around...alot... and only engage those who actually matter in the current situation.

If you like to play hack and slash kill em all diablo style do so, just stop acting like its the WAI or only real way to play.

Frankly I love COX, its the MMO I always come back to since year one. But not it nor any game deserves or should be played for hours in a row. that just aint good game design in my book. and not the best way to use your RL time either imo. play for 45 then go spend 15 messing around in your yard with a pet, play with a sword, go shoot a bow, etc. You know move outside in the real world.

I love killing things with a virtual sword, but now and then I like going and cutting up milk jugs, pool noodles, and bamboo with a real one too.
Well, you are allowed you opinion an how long to take to play things, and what a game is meant to be. Just don't try to tell me what I think a game is and how to play it.

I spend time in game with community, friends from across the country, and even DJing on an internet station (see sig) at a time, and I enjoy it. To me CoH isn't just a game, but a social experience.

I know a speedy ITF is about 20 min. Mine are a good paced run at 45 min that mixes kicking *** with speed, stealth, and RP( virtue forever) Really using RP as an excuse to waste time is why RPers get such hate, In a life and death save the timeline sitch like the ITF anything but speed is bad RP as no hero is not trying to get to the real problem immediatly. Take the snakes head and the body shall die and all that.

2 hours though damn I dont know anyone who games anymore who can give that much straight time to play. must be a kiddy or have no kiddy of your own I guess.
No kiddy of my own, and definitely not a kiddy myself. And I do know parents who can take 2 hours of time straight to play. all depends on how people want to do it.
  22. I blame the game mechanics. Honestly, speed runs have been around since before the iTrials, and the ITF even more so. It is used to get costume parts for characters, level characters quickly, get the Incarnate stuff quickly (especially when the WTF).

I honestly avoid "speed runs" as much as possible, but with the new incarnate powers, it has also dropped the difficulty of the ITF a bit. A regular slow run, with RP in it, and bio breaks etc, hasn't taken more than 2 hours, and usually is about 90 minutes at an even pace. The only choke points have been the ambush in the first mission (which isn't that bad of a choke point anymore either), and maybe lag hill, if it is acting up (I haven't had much issue with lag hill being lagtastic for a while).

Still I find this one of the more fun and repeatable TFs in the game, mostly because of the time frame to complete it. I can get on one during the week and still get a normal nights sleep for work the next day.
  23. I know that we were getting a monthly Dev letter/State of the game letter for a portion of last year, but like always, it has stopped. I do have to wonder if they are not focusing too much on the Freedom Friday thing on Facebook, which a number of people who are working during the day, cannot follow, and by the time you get home, it becomes a long mish mash of things to go through.

Lack of communications though? That I would have to disagree with. All you have to do is look at the Dev and Community Digests to see how often they communicate with us.
  24. I haven't heard anything bad about PNY. They have been known to make good quality products, but I can't comment on how their customer service is.

I honestly would go with PNY or EVGA, as both tend to use more standard setups with the NVidia chipset (BFG used to have a unique setup and driver).
