Trojan in NCSoft Launcher
AVG and Ad-Aware say it's fine. Since the forum isn't currently flooded with questions/angry posts about this, I think it's reasonably safe to assume that it's just you.

I thought it might be a false positive, but Kapersky doesn't give me many of those and I did a google search on it which showed someone on the lineage II forums who had the same thing hit them today.
I'm keeping an eye on it.

Hasn't happened to me in awhile but in previous updates I got the Trojan message using ESET Smart Security (the more complete version of NOD32). At the time I downloaded some free antivirus programs to test, they didn't accuse it so I assumed it was a false positive. But as I said it's been some time I don't get a trojan message with my AV program, it happened 3 or 4 times before with prior updates tho.
I sent the file to Kaspersky and they confirmed it was a false positive, they say they'll fix it in the next DB update.
While copying files now and then I'll trip a false alarm like this because a file looks similar to that of what the current protection software has knowledge of. I'm quite sure that there's not going to be malware out there just 'hoping' that you're going to install the launcher. Well, unless of course it's someone who Really hates the game for whatever reason, but then they'd have to distribute it somehow. ;-)

This evening when I got home from work, II found a notice from my AV program saying it found the Trojan.Win32.Swisyn.cedt trojan in the file c:\program files(x86)\NCSoft\Launcher\PMBWrapperLib.dll
Has anyone else noticed this before, and why after all this time is it showing up now? Did NCSoft have something hit them unknowingly?
