If I had my druthers, RWZ is a good place to form up, because of the crafting tables and what-not, there. But, NOT when a ship raid is scheduled. And, yes, I was there when someone was trying to form up an itrial at the same time that the regular ship raid was scheduled. From now on, I'll avoid any itrial league forming in RWZ that does that again. We need the activities on the server, and if we can avoid event conflicts, all the better, so we can get more people involved with the scheduled events. Certainly, an itrial can wait a mere 30 minutes to form up if they absolutely insist upon forming up in RWZ, or form up the league in Pocket D.

Some people I have talked to have reported the graphic flickering as early as Issue 19/I19, and, yes, this is for both ATI and Nvidia chip users. Un-installing the latest driver and cleaning up the leftovers with driver sweeper or what-not, then, installing an earlier driver helps for a time. A few have reported limited success with Catalyst 11.3, and I have tried it myself, and had nary a flicker until I entered my base, then it returned with a vengeance.
When using the latest drivers, it was a strobe light for me, as well, and did seem to be the worst when jumping, but, even running it would appear, and, after a while, even turning, or standing still, I would still have the flickering graphics/strobe light flashes. The game is nigh-un-playable for many, and as others have said, this is not a good thing for first time users to see when they try out the game. Fixing this should be one of the highest priority items the devs should work on.
The Catalyst 11.10 has been released, but . . . after all of their earlier attempts have resulted in failure, I am leery of trusting yet another one. Let's hope that the patch works, and works for everyone. At this point, however, I'm going to believe it when I see it.
Any E.T.A. on the patch? -
And, they're down, again . . .

1st: Put a small note in the Black Market (or Wentworth's for the heroes) box, reminding players that they can purchase salvage with Mission Architect Tickets, instead of paying up to 300,000 or more for Uncommon Salvage such as Steel or Alchemical Gold. For example, both are available on the top floor of the Architect Entertainment building for only 80 Mission Architect Tickets. You can usually earn around 80 or more Mission Architect Tickets in a single mission, even on a small map, like the ones I have. One of mine is to blow off steam at the bugs and nerfs in the game, the other is just for fun and a glimpse of how I see humans.
2nd: Re-set the salvage bins in our bases to their previous capacities. Having only 30 capacity for each bin is ridiculous.
3rd: A global invention salvage vault of sorts, for invention salvage of 1,000 item capacity would be very helpful, and appreciated, even if it is only for the VIP players. Or at the very least, a few hundred. Doing it for incarnate salvage would help, also, while we're on the subject, as some people prefer to do many of the higher level trials, task forces and strike forces on certain characters, and not others, and they could then put whatever extra incarnate salvage that they do not need for the character they earned it on in their global incarnate salvage vault for their other characters to use.
Some are opposed to additional salvage storage for invention salvage, but, if it is restricted to only VIP players, that should help somewhat, and, the market should re-balance in very little time. With the note added to the Black Market and Wentworth's windows, this should also help curb an upper limit on invention salvage prices as they are reminded that they can make enough Mission Architect Tickets to purchase that particular item in only a few minutes inside of a mission. -
Huzzah! City of Heroes: Freedom is almost here!

So, it IS Issue 19?
Thank you, devs! :-)
I won't have to play my evil devs AE mission to vent my frustrations for at least a little while . . . -
Well, I am hoping that it is Issue 19, even if all they include is the inherent Fitness pool, it'll still be something that the players could really use. :-)
It would be a shame if it was just another patch for AE farms . . . Although, I would enjoy a global salvage storage for each paid account of somewhere between 300 to 1,000 capacity, I feel certain the devs won't do that for us, even though it would allow us to spend more time playing the game, and less time jumping from character to character to see which one has the salvage we need. Recently, some common invention salvage on the Black Market and Wentworth's has been going for over 1 million each. If people could store more salvage, perhaps by having the already existing Vault locations as a global salvage storage interface, that would help considerably. -
It gives me the exact same message, claiming that the client is unable to connect to the login server, and that it might be a local network issue such as a firewall block, and goes on to give the wrong URL/URI for the server status page. Upon checking the server status page, there is no information which would indicate that there is any problem whatsoever, which seems to be standard operating procedure with NCsoft, not telling us what's going on. Perhaps, someday, they'll actually do as they claim to do, and listen to their customers/players, and tell us what we need to know instead of keeping us in the dark and feeding us the . . . hype about their latest creations, while ignoring all the problems and bugs in the game instead of spending most of their time on nerfing all that they can and driving away many of their customers/players.
It's now almost 9:00 P.M. Eastern, and I still can't log in, getting the same pop-up error when trying. If and when I do get to log in again, someday, I'm going to play my evil devs mission to take out some of my frustration at NCsoft's continued problems such as:
The SG registrar in Port Oakes crashing the game client when you try to see the top 100 Super Groups on even a system that can handle ultra mode;
Mastermind minions that are un-responsive, and stay at ferries on villain side, and won't re-summon when you dismiss them and try to re-summon;
The global e-mail system that is supposed to keep your e-mails for 60 days, but, deletes them after only 30, along with the rare salvage you had e-mailed yourself in an attempt to globally store rare salvage until the devs finally listen to the players/customers and give us a global Invention Salvage storage of at the very least, 500 capacity;
I could go on, but, I don't really see any reason to point out all the other bugs, mapserver messages, et cetera, that have already been discussed in game and on the forums while the devs ignore them. Just venting, I suppose, with a forlorn hope that someday, the problems will be addressed instead of ignored. -
Just a suggestion, but, what would really be nice, would be a Global Invention Salvage for each paid account of 1,000 capacity. This would allow us more free time to play the game instead of changing characters to try to find the piece of over-priced Invention Salvage we need for our Recipes, and might act as a way to keep some of those prices down.

After not finding anything listed by searching for bugs and the word Registrar, I thought I should post something about a recurring problem that many people I know have been experiencing, lately. Whenever someone attempts to click on the Super Group Registrar's link called Show me all of the registered Super Groups, the game client crashes nine times out of ten attempts.
Is there any way to fix this for the individual player, or is this a known issue, that for reasons unbeknown to us players has been left off the Known Issues page? -
VG Name: 666 Eternal Shadows
Currently Recruiting: Yes.
RP Level: RP-lite.
Theme/Concept: Tech-themed base, but, may change to arcane-themed in the future. Concept is basically a group of people that get along and help each other out.
Activity: Fairly active, with around 30 people logging in and playing every day at various times throughout the day and night. Prime time is usually in the evenings.
Requirements for Membership: The ability to get along with other villains, and logging in fairly often, since we kick those in our villain group who haven't logged in the longest when we need space to invite more people.
Leadership: CyberWoLfman
In-Game Contact: @CyberWoLfman
Out-of-Game Contact: You can sometimes find me in my 3D world when I'm not logged into the game.
URL: 666 Eternal Shadows
Coalitions: Several, and friendly.
Other Details: In 666 Eternal Shadows, promotions are earned much faster than any other SG or VG that I've been in, and are not influenced by how well you know the leaders. Everybody gets promotions based upon how much prestige they earn for our villain group. Strike forces and trials aren't really scheduled, but, we often form up teams for them in the coalition chat, since most of us prefer to team with people we know first, then ask others if they'd like to join in. Our base pretty much has everything we need, with teleports to all the zones, arranged by level difficulty, worktables, an invention table, personal storage vault, enhancement and inspiration storage, a way to access the ouroboros flashback missions without going to the ouroboros zone, a med bay with autodoc and other things, so the only goal is to perhaps increase the base size as our villain group members earn more prestige, improving it while at the same time, maintaining its user-friendly design.

Rather odd is the fact that they're not using something as simple as an .htaccess entry to restrict those from logging in from that IP range, which would solve the problem rather nicely, since I think they're all in the same little area in China. Another solution would be to ask their ISP there to not allow any of their users to use the specific game port, but, using .htaccess would be a simpler solution, and one that NCsoft would have control over.
Why couldn't NCsoft do something like that, Lighthouse? A lot of us have been doing the same thing for years, now. (.htaccess is also useful for creating secure directories in Web sites. Hee hee hee) -
Somebody's missing a graphic. Or maybe that particular server is down . . .
Well, I don't know about anybody else, but, during the Double XP weekend, I'll probably be spending practically every waking moment in the game, even more so than I have before. Wonder if anybody at NCsoft has looked at the time I spend in the game and wonder when I sleep?
Going to try to get some of my mid-20s up to or at least closer to level 50, and some of my real low level characters up to at least level 14 so getting around is a lot easier.
Got plenty of caffeine, energy drinks, and two of my high-speed internet connections are up and running, so, I should be good.
As for the SG/VG thing, my VG on Infinity is doing a prestige contest with big prizes. I put the information on that server thread instead of giving it all here and boring people with details.
Wonder how many people are going to be making use of an electronarcosis rig this week-end? Hee hee hee
