Here's the challenge: Write a haiku that describes your favorite character.
Here are the rules of a haiku: It must be three lines. 5 syllables/7 syllables/5 syllables. It should strive to answer three questions: Who? What? Where? But like all poetry it can be flexible, so don't feel restricted by those three questions. Write whatever you feel works. Also, often times haikus contemplate complex themes with simple imagery. But hell, this isn't an English class so just do whatever you want.
Here's my Haiku about the villain Degree who is an ice/ice corruptor:
Icy waves of pain
licking away liberties
and spitting back death.
Now it's your turn! Choose a favorite character and start those haikus. -
Great story Lighthouse.
After reading it though, I have to wonder... what powersets is your in-game hero?
I'd have two guesses:
1. Gravity/*** Controller- "Through it all he came to better know this clarity of motion and time, to hone it through the saving of his own skin and then to rely on it."
2. Invulnerability/*** Tanker- "Indeed his mortal form seemed trapped in the youthful vigor of the time just before his fall. As years passed he came to see how time wore more harshly at those around him but left him mostly untouched." -

Unbelievably, Impale is 80' range.
Disclaimer: No, that does not imply an impending range reduction for impale or increase for Focus.

Don't be hesitant to adjust things Castle, something is seriously overpowering about impale. SOMETHING needs to adjusted in the spine set. (Maybe it's something to do with Buildup) There's a reason the majority of pvp'rs play one. The same goes for ice/em and ice/elec blasters. It gets to a point of ridiculousness that some sets haven't been adjusted yet for pvp. -

hmm...
No real mention of new zones....

Isn't roughly 25 zones for CoH enough? We're good for zones in my opinion. It's hard enough to get to some missions in CoH.
CoV-wise, we could certainly use a few more zones to bring it in-line with CoH. However, by the sounds of things the devs are already going to be solving this issue by opening up the hazard zones to villains. (I would guess pvp will not be involved in the hazard zones.. though villain/hero teaming might) -
I'm not saying this just because I'm a "city of" fan, like most of us who post on these forums are, but..
I don't see how a marvel based mmo could succeed. The thing about "City of" is that the heroes and villains are completely original. With a game based on Marvel everyone will be clamoring to be Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, etc. The Originality factor goes to the wind.
I'll be sticking to "City of" thank you.The variety of costume options in this game speaks bounds for what this game is about-- ORIGINALITY. A Marvel game will never be able to top this game on that count.

I'm in the dark, what was Posi referring to when he mentioned a project between Cryptic and Microsoft?

Any chance you could post a picture of Spirit Shark Jaws please? People on here (including me) have been anxious to see what it looks like for ages

Here's a link to a video showcasing many patron powers. Spirit Shark Jaws includedEnjoy!

It says Spirit Shark has a 100% chance of Knockup. This is hard for me to believe that a power like this would have a 100% value. Please tell me this isn't a typo..

I'm going to throw out a few things that I'd like to see changed about the zone.
1) The turrets on pillboxes should regenerate after X amount of time.
2) Decrease Hero/AV resistances a little bit.
3) Improve Hero/AV AI. Many times I've seen the Heros/AVs not attacking anything when they're by a pillbox.
4) Decrease the effectivness of people's perception powers. The signature ability of a stalker (the ability to hide) is severely "gimped" at high levels. I have a stalker, and when I play in RV I no longer feel like a stalker. I feel like a scrapper with low hp.
5) So far I'm going to say thumbs down on the patron power's utility compared to powers like FA for heroes. I need to experience the patrons more though before I can have any real concrete opinion.
6) Seems like there are Longbow Wardens all over the place. I'd rather see small groups of minions/lieutenants than a boss every 50 yards. Maybe mix it up a little bit.
Also, it seems that the heroes have a huge advantage on test. I don't know where to point my finger at for that. -

Villaingroup Description:
Sins of Omega was started October 20th, 2005. We are a collection of powerful villains on the Freedom server in the game City of Villains. Our villaingroup values dedication, participation, skill, and experience. We are a very close knit family.
Sins of Omega (SoO) was created as an extension of Team Omega (TO), a supergroup on the game City of Heroes. SoO is the darker counterpart to this hugely successful supergroup. Many of our members particpate in both SoO and TO as we coordinate base raids, pvp zone fights, etc. Omega Medic is the leaders of Team Omega. Meanwhile, Bane of Warlock and myself are in charge of Sins of Omega.
The group has a wide range of activities each week. We have weekly pvp zone nights, meetings, scheduled base raids, arena challenges, occasional RP events between our hero group and villaingroup, costume contests, etc.
Our members in SoO are mature players who know how to play their villainous toons. We appreciate members who show dedication, passion, and a certain level of maturity. Along those same lines, powerlevelers need not apply. In order to foster an environment filled with the best players, we feel learning your toons through pve content is an invaluable lesson. As a result, our members are pros at both pvp and pve. We love blasting through +4 level baddies in missions.
If you have any questions about our organization, feel free to ask on our website! In our world it's kill or be killed... but we're always willing to lend a hand in the killing. Bwahaha!

Sounds like something Tankers should also be able to for their team.

That's why tanks can taunt.

Definite thumbs up on bodyguards. It fits with the theme of the mastermind, provides some badly needed resistance, and doesn't seem to be overpowering.
Also, who wants to set up a 16 vs 16 thug MM Raid. lol. That would total over HALF A THOUSAND pets if all the MM were to use Gang War at the same time. lol. Do I hear lag? No, because the sound of fun is too overpowering!
-Silver -
I'm personally really excited about the patron powers for stalkers. I'm happy they gave us pets. Sure pets might not be the most pvp-viable, but if you want a pvp build no one is forcing you to take it. (After all, the devs HAVE given us a nifty snipe, a hold, and ranged attacks.. nothing to complain about there) If anyone is worried about accuracy just slot up your powers differently. Add some ToHit buffs to BuildUp and maybe tweak your Alpha Strike a bit.
Also, is it just me.. or does Water Spout sound like it has a knockback, disorient, AND fear component?
Water Spout - Conjures up a Water Spout at a targeted location. The Water Spout will chase down your foes, tossing them into the air and hurling them great distances. The victims are left Disoriented and with reduced Defense. The Water Spout is a menacing sight, and can even cause panic among your foes
Maybe I'm just dreaming.

My sg wants to have a role-playing event. In the past we've done some pretty successful, and very fun RP'ing. For example, one time our leader was kidnapped and we had a string of clues and events leading up to her rescue. It was a blast. Now the sg wants more.. and I do too. lol
I'm looking for some ideas for a continuing RP event. I want to go beyond the usual and predictable. I get tired of RP kidnappings, funerals, and weddings.. so I decided I better seek some advice from the RP'rs.. which is why I'm here seeking your creative ideas.
If you have any great ideas for an RP I'd love to hear 'em.
