Despite my username, I never did get the coyote travel power.
I thought there was going to be plenty of time! -
I was gonna respec my mind/psi dominator out of the flight pool and use sorcery instead. I mean, it was synergy. How could I not?
Now I'm sad it'll never happen on live. -

Now will someone please tell me who was responsible for this?

Quote:I'd search the boards several times a week for any and all instances of M. Night Shyamalan's name. I'd tag the thread with "What a twist!"Remember back in the day when we could add Tags to forum posts and there was a tag cloud on the bottom of every screen? And remember how "Tunnels Snakes Rule" was always the number one tag?
That was me.
No, nowhere as cool as yours. -
I almost broke the NDA about ED on the LiveJournal CoH channel (which was still very active at the time). Almost, as in I made the post about it and then deleted it about a minute later. I don't know if anyone managed to read it in that time, but I guess no dev ever found out about it.

In the spirit of that "who was a furry?" thread, since I kinda brought it up there.
Who here used to be an Amiga user? I'm kinda more interested in the avid and rabid users who tried to cling tightly to the platform long after Commodore went kaput. I'm sure you all already knew the sting of something you love going bye-bye and trying as hard as you can to rally the community together!
My first computer was an Amiga 2000. I tried to upgrade it as best I could but the best I got was a 25 Mhz '030, a 3 gig hard drive * and OS 3.5. But I used the heck out of that machine. I was on all the local Amiga BBSes and I subscribed to both AmigaWorld and Amazing Computing. I still remember that sad day in 1994 when the news came that Commodore went bankrupt and was no more. I followed the news on comp.sys.amiga.misc about all the turmoil and drama as the Amiga brand fell into the hands of other companies, who themselves had troubles.
Even nowadays, I still occasionally keep tabs on current events. I'm kind of amazed at how much that community has managed to do.
So who here used to use an Amiga computer? Who here was secretly wishing CoH could run on it?
* (I had a 100 meg hard drive for the longest time. I got the 3 gig drive in 1998, for $128. I thought that was a very cheap price for so much drive space, haha!) -

Quote:Back when the nascent Furry culture was just beginning to actually grow and establish itself, the "go-to" characters to have *those* types of fantasies were Minerva Mink from Animaniacs, Babs Bunny from Tiny Toons, and Gadget from Rescue Rangers. *Do I have '*those* types of fantasies' with furries? Er, no.
Before that, about all they had was I think Miz Ma'm'selle Hepzibah from Pogo.
And now you know!
* (There was also Amy the Squirrel from Eric Schwartz's cartoons he made for the Amiga computer back in the early 90's, but that's already a bit obscure. It's just that he managed to straddle two rabid fandoms at once with something like that.) -

Well the NCSoft drive-thru just removed a local favorite from their menu. We're gonna raise all kinds of hell until they bring it back. And if they don't, we ain't eating there anymore.

Quote:Quite a good example of a dumb thing that makes no logical sense whatsoever. If you don't like cartoons, why on Earth would you accept a job to run a network that shows nothing but cartoons? Would Lee Iacocca walk into the main offices of Revlon, clap his hands together and say, "OK! From now on we're making pinball machines!"?Case in point, Cartoon Network. Back when that bomb scare over an Aqua Teen Hunger Force ad happened, the CEO quit and was replaced by someone who absolutely did not like cartoons and has tried repeatedly over the years to change the channel into something oriented toward live television.

That page is just so much fluff. It's meaningless.
They might be trying to convince themselves that they're living up to those "goals", but in the real world, their actions speak the loudest of all. -
What was the whole deal with the 5th Column/Council thing?
Were there ever any plans made to expand on the Shadow Shard?
Was anything ever going to be done with all of those helipads in Paragon City?
The lore surrounding the AE buildings was kind of interesting. It kind of implied that Dr. Aeon and Countess Crey had something underhanded in mind when they decided to join together to make them. Distracting heroes from their real duty seemed among those goals, but I was wondering if that was ever going to be expanded on and explored?
Was Nemesis behind any of the more recent goings on in Paragon City, Praetoria or the Rogue Isles? After the whole Rikti thing, he seemed to have slinked back into the shadows. -
Quote:No he hasn't!However, I feel that in your quest for objectivity you've simply become contrarian.
Sorry, I was just suddenly reminded of that! -

Quote:Yeah, I think that kinda rage is misdirected. I wouldn't blame the developers of any game for this. This was totally a top level decision from the folks who run the publisher. Those games are all supported by different people. They're *all* evil?
However, it can be argued that because the publisher doesn't care enough about the NA or EU markets, that they don't give them enough resources to allow them to run their games well enough so that it causes problems like what was described. Or else they butt in and make decisions for the devs, which almost always causes a disaster or two, such as you described! But that's still not on the devs; they're still trying the best they can with what little they have! -
Quote:OK, while he may have used different, more colorful words than I did, we both basically meant the same thing. That's how I read that post. Also, what he said was in part a reaction to what you said. At least that's how I saw it. If he thinks what you've said is silly and dumb, he'll respond accordingly.I'm not making an argument. No one on the rage-side of the Force is going to reconsider because of anything I say, and so I post merely to highlight how ridiculous sentiments like this
are. Mainly because it amuses me and probably some others who are at least a little more level-headed about this whole mess.
Damn it, you're making me defend Nethergoat. These really are the end times! -
Yes yes, if you absolutely must go nuclear, at least have the decency to be quiet about it!
