Having more and varied choices is always a good thing. Why can't we have both? Let us have alignment tokens available at the store, and also let us have no cooldowns on the amount of tips we can get on a single character. Let the cooldown be for the alignment merits only; just alter the reward mechanic for alignment missions. The precedent for doing so is already there in the Incarnate trials.

I would rather run TIP missions too if I could back to back rather than have to drop 15 bones on it.
Indeed. I would not waste real money to get such a thing, either. Still, I think having the choice to do so is good for those who would.

I don't see why it would be a moot point. There are still people who like doing tip and alignment missions as much as possible.

Like myself, LOL... but the cooldown never bugged me. I have way too many alts.
  3. How about they just give a 20 hour cool down period for the alignment merits only, but still allow you to play an unlimited amount of tip and alignment missions?

You know, like how there's a similar cool down period for Emperian merits? Between those times, alignment missions can just earn your standard Reward Merits (with diminishing returns on them if they must insist)....

    Just a thought.

  5. It would be cool if the devs made the music in Pocket D like the music you hear in a lot of those virtual nightclubs on Second Life...

    ...what???

Erm... that is, you know how Virtue has "The Cape"? Imagine if that was piped directly from the game itself, like the game was acting as the client. There could be a DJ booth in Pocket D and the player acting as DJ would have to go in there and click on something and maybe enter some kind of password to set up the link. When no one is DJing then it defaults to... one of those internet radio channels, I forget what those are called.

I guess the DJs would all have to be authorized by the devs or the GMs, and also this would only be for one server so.... yeah. I don't know! lol

  9. I want those rocks the civies throw at us. I could solo the Hamidon with those rocks.

Maybe that's it. Those rocks are made from stellar matter from a white dwarf, and are thus incredibly dense. Like, so dense that it would be impossible for a normal civilian to even pick up. In fact, they shouldn't even be able to touch it. Actually, they shouldn't even be anywhere near it. OK, I give up.

    Rocks fall, everyone dies!

Maybe I got spoiled by playing certain types of RPGs (Fallout, ahem!), but I really miss being able to talk my way past certain bosses, and actually getting rewarded by the game for taking that option.

But then again, CoH never really had anything like that. So... I dunno.

    Spoilers dammit!

Samuel Anders, Tory Foster, Ellen Tigh, Saul Tigh and Galen Tyrol are all Cylons.

    As is the Thirteenth Tribe.
  13. I think I mentioned in some other thread not too long ago that it's not OK to be a role-player in CoH, but it's perfectly fine to be a munchkin?

Well this thread here is the proof. City of Munchkins. It's gotten so bad that perhaps the devs should put in a yellow brick road running through The Emerald... I'm sorry, Paragon City.
  14. Also, this movie better have an after-credits epilog where Cobra Commander is shown having a secret meeting with Megatron. I'm just sayin'!

LOL yeah right! Uhm, no he's doing just fine where he is!

Seriously though, the amount of ignorance with respect to the history of super hero comic books that's been displayed in this thread has been rather amazing to me. If they even knew just a little bit about it, they might realize how silly is this entire subject.

I laughed when I first saw this thread's title. More superhero stuff... for a superhero game. Right, and can my book have pages in it too, please? Oh yes, and I'd like my water to be wet, while you're at it.

They all forgot that the Circle of Thorns was a group that's been with this game since the beginning; a group of sorcerers and magic users dressed up like they were going to some D&D cosplay (or maybe a heavy metal concert...). By their own words, that group is incongruous with the entire notion of superheroes and therefore should have never been included!

Oh yeah, and all those demons you run into, especially villainside. And Dark Astoria. Seriously.

    Quote:
That's exactly what CoH was created to be.
As evidenced by how the devs have eschewed any fantasy themed costume sets over the last seven years... oh wait a minute.

Most folks I know of who think that motif is lame don't read comics, don't go to superhero movies, and don't play COH.
So if you don't like spandex you can get out? But that's just your opinion, right?

    Waaaaait...

Doesn't this describe every game ranted on by the Angry Video Game Nerd? At least, a single player version of it, LOL.

Just because you're able to do something doesn't mean everyone else in the world also can.

Also, I've done that arc with several different ATs. I needed help with Trapdoor on some, and I didn't need any help on others. Even the same AT but with different sets can make that difference.
